We just spent two very expensive nights here. Total of almost 550. If I had only known there were two opal properties in town for just a little more and such far superior place to stay. We were booked in one building and told they gave us free upgrade. Thinking they pulled a fast one as they seemed to have everyone in our building. This property is dated. The sheets on the bed had far out lived their useful life. Piled and almost thread bar. I certainly would have stayed in town in a quality hotel if I had known. Look into in town hotels for the money. Breakfast is included but pastry was hard and stale.

Upon first sight I wasn't sold, we were in one of the motels out back. We almost went to the front desk and asked for a different building (they have several), We decided to check it out first, before making a decision.... boy am I glad we did! The inside was BEAUTIFUL and the cleanest place I have stayed...ever. The view was spectacular, literally right on the water and there was even a birthday card waiting for me! It was a great touch. The room was comfortable, there were 2 sinks, one in the bathroom and one in the room. It was well lit and I have to mention again how clean it was. My only complaint was the coffee, bring your own coffee.... But the staff were all very friendly. We were late coming in our first night and we got a courtesy call making sure we were still coming and everything was ok, I liked that. They have a large selection for their continental breakfast and lunch you can purchase if you want to take it with you on a hike or picnic. They also have a bistro that we had dinner at, it was ok. I would recommend this place to everyone.

We stayed in the Portside/Oceanside building. The room was spacious with a delightful view (25 feet from the ocean). The room was very clean and well equipped. Our bed was made each morning. The trash was removed and towels replaced each day. (What a delightful surprise because every other place we have stayed in September 2021 we had no service. One place we even had to get towels for our first night.) Our stay was quiet, relaxing, peaceful. The view was a delight. A special thank you to Brit for the wonderful customer service she provided. The hotel needed to move us to a different room in a different building. Brit called us (in the morning of our arrival day) to get our permission. I think we got a much better room for us!

We spent three nights at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and were disappointed with our stay. We had a room in the main building which felt really outdated and in need of some repairs. After we checked in we noticed that the air conditioning was not working and also that the screen door was broken and did not slide and there was a big tear in the bottom of it. I notified the front desk staff and they said that it would not be a problem to fix these items. I asked for a new room if they were unable to fix it but they assured me that they could. When we got back to the room the AC still did not work but the screen door did sort of slide but the big rip at bottom was still present. This made difficult to adjust room temp since AC did not work and the we could not use the screen door because bugs were getting through the hole. Later on that evening when we returned to the hotel we noticed that there was a vacancy sign and so it seems like we could have gotten a different room. I would have have overlooked these complaints had the hotel not have cost nearly $1000 for 3 nights. The view from the balcony was great and the hotel is in a good location to Acadia and Bar Harbor but the main hotel building is way over priced.

My husband and I had an excellent stay at this hotel. We had a large room with nice bathroom. We enjoyed the balcony over looking the water. Very attractive property. The breakfast was good for covid times and we liked being able to purchase lunch to go to take for a day at the park. The hotel was right outside of Bar Harbor and Acadia Park-there was a shuttle outside of the hotel that took us into the middle of BarHarbor so we didn't have to worry about parking. We were glad we didn't stay with the crowds in the middle of Bar Harbor. there was a was nice indoor pool. Nice helpful staff.
