We stayed here with our 2 kids for 4 nights early August. With Covid19 precautions, they did a very good job with check-in and a grab and go breakfast service that you order the night before; the process was very efficient. They offer a decent variety of cereals/oatmeal, breads, fresh fruit and yogurt to get you going, along with juice, water, & brewed coffee. The homemade granola was a treat. We stayed in the Atlantic View building, the room was very clean with a 3/4 fridge and microwave. Open lawn, beach area and pool were great additions for the kids to roam around before/ after ANP activities. The location was great, just outside of town to avoid the crowd if you want, but close enough for a few minutes drive to get to dinner or grab any needed provisions. Would definitely recommend as a solid option for families. The front desk was efficient, but not overly helpful. One example was when we forgot to add the time to our breakfast order when we dropped the paper sheet. We called the desk to indicate the time, and they were annoyed that they would have to "search through the pile of forms to find ours to add the time." This wasn't our system, we were adhering to their process, but there should be a little forgiveness when a guest forgets to check one box on a form. Other than that no concerns.

I just got back from a long weekend stay at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel with my wife and two teenage daughters. My room was located in the Atlantic View building, which has great water views of Frenchman’s Bay. The room itself was large, clean, peaceful and quite. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel features two pools and its own restaurant, which was quite good. The hotel also handled the current Covid-19 situation as well as possible. The biggest impact involves the free breakfast, which you have to order the night before by dropping off a form in the main hotel building. You then have to pick up your breakfast the next morning and bring it back to your room. This was an efficient and a good way to handle breakfast under the circumstances I thought. We also took the excellent nature cruise boat ride that leaves right from the dock of the hotel, and the private rocky beach is fun to explore at low tide. On the negative side, the Hotel is too far from downtown Bar Harbor to walk (especially after going on a hike), and the free bus service to town was not working due to Covid-19, so you have to drive to town and fight for limited parking spaces. All in all, however, this is an excellent hotel, which I would highly recommend.

The food was very good and reasonably priced, though the menu is a bit limited. The staff were competent and friendly, though a bit unprofessional as they had conversations between them, from a distance, that should have been handled at the back of the house. We sat outside. The view is limited and partially blocked by other buildings on the property, but it was still pretty nice. The interior dining room looked a bit rundown, as did the whole property. The glass wall that provides the view was somewhat hazy, as if it were old, not unclean. The property needs a facelift for sure, with new paint and neater, cleaner surroundings. It seems like the kind of place that uses its location as its draw rather than the quality of the facility itself. We stayed near here and were glad we had not chosen this place as our hotel. We liked eating here, though, as it was way easier to get outside seating here than in town.

A good location, but not walking distance from Bar Harbor. Drive just a few minutes to an entrance of Acadia National Park in one direction and to Bar Harbor's many restaurants and shops in the other direction. A great spot if you like sunrises and/or a water view, but don't stay on the first floor unless you don't mind going outside to see the sun come up over the water. I saw 2 deer at sunrise, one went right up to our patio where I would have been standing inside of the slider and been 5 feet away! Our server at the Bistro hotel restaurant was very friendly, and front desk staff were helpful. We knew that we wouldn't have housekeeping or breakfast in a dining room due to the pandemic, so we accepted having to order food the previous night and walk over to pick up our bag in the morning. The Bistro had good food and a nice patio with water view, with an option to dine indoors. The rocky beach is extremely small at high tide and not good for walking. The room decor is outdated but clean apart from huge stains on our ottoman, lots of water stains on the ceiling and a misaligned patched-up bit of wallpaper by the bed (odd!) IF we are lucky enough to return to Mount Desert Island again, we feel we would find a better value at the Bar Harbor Inn or Harborside.

Room Tip: Not the first floor on the end of Atlantic View building due to stone wall blocking view.

Pretty happy with our stay here we stayed on the 2nd floor of the Atlantic view bldg for 3 nights I’d recommend staying on the 3rd floor if you are a light sleeper, the floor above us was creaky and we could hear the guests walking back and forth, the room had a balcony on the bay that was nice to sit out on in the morning. As mentioned in previous reviews there is no room service and breakfast is to go but that was fine with us. The restaurant on site is pretty good for dinner. The location is close to downtown and Acadia National Park. All in all a good stay
