We stayed in the Atlantic View building from July 2 - 5, 2020. All staff that we interacted with during our stay were very nice and extremely kind. The property itself is beautiful and clean. Our room (2 queen beds), including the bathroom, were a good size. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and enjoying the view! The hotel is not in downtown Bar Harbor but it only took a few minutes to drive into town. We were very pleased with the location.
We stayed here during the pandemic and felt very safe. The hotel took every precaution it could to ensure our safety. Masks were required in all public areas. There were masks available in the lobby for those who didn't have one. Hand sanitizer was also available in the lobby. All staff wore masks. When checking in they told us that housekeeping would not make up our room unless we called to request they do so. In order to remain safe, we opted not to have housekeeping clean our room. I did see housekeeping in the hall everyday and would ask then for anything I needed - ie towels, toilet paper. They were very obliging. There was a few trash cans in the lobby of our building which we deposited bulky trash items. A breakfast menu (complimentary breakfast) was provided upon check in with instructions to call each morning to place our order. Within 15 minutes of ordering, a warm breakfast was delivered to our room in takeout containers and paper bags. Breakfast options included fruit, oatmeal, breakfast sandwich, french toast, eggs, and biscuits with gravy.
We also ate in the restaurant one night (outdoors, of course). The food and service were outstanding!!! We would highly recommend eating here one of the nights during your stay. The food was better than some of the restaurants we ate at in town.
I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay here. Kudos to the management and staff of the hotel for their kindness, understanding and doing what was needed to keep their guests safe.

We stayed at the Atlantic ocean side hotel for four nights in November 2020 for Thanksgiving.
Our room was in the separate building and had a gorgeous view of the Atlantic. The room was large, immaculate, beautifully decorated and came with two queen beds, a refrigerator and a microwave, which made eating during Covid much easier. The bathroom was also immaculate and new.
The main hotel had a heated indoor pool and served complimentary breakfast every morning which they pre packaged and had ready for pickup due to Covid.

We stayed in the main lodge. Through rooms were a bit small (as was the bathrooms) they were exceptionally clean and comfortable with beautiful views of the bay. Excellent covid breakfast...turn in what you want the night before and quantities (fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, hot sandwich if he morning, juice & coffee), select a pick up time, and get a fresh hot breakfast for take away. Great friendly staff. Less than 5 minute drive from Main St. Would stay again.

We stayed in the Willows, room 823 for 5 nights and we enjoyed the location outside of the busy downtown of Bar Harbor—it was very peaceful!—and the grounds were beautiful and convenient to access. We were the perfect distance from Acadia and from downtown. However, the old building we were in and our room was disappointing. Our three windows did not allow us access to the breeze: one had no screen, and the other two were broken. It took 2 days to fix, and they offered to relocate us for when they had a vacancy, but by then they had fixed 2 of the windows. Our bathroom smelled very strongly like mildew, and when I called the front desk about it they said the mildew smell was “part of the charm of an old building.” There were water stains on the ceiling. The rooms creak and you can hear everything out on the balconies and in the hallways. What was most disappointing was the balcony—although the room had a beautiful view, the deck furniture out there is too low, so that when you’re sitting in it, you’re eye level with the handrail and can’t really see the water well. We did end up going elsewhere on the grounds to sit and enjoy the view, but we paid a premium for a waterview balcony and it wasn’t the best. The breakfast was convenient to pick up, but whether everything we had asked for was in the bag varied from day to day. All in all, it’s a nice place but I think we overpaid for not being in one of the newer buildings. Next time, we might come back and stay in one of the newer buildings.

This hotel was so lovely to stay in with my boyfriend during the "busy season" in the national park! They were totally and fully compliant with COVID regulations, super helpful with park directories and restaurant recommendations, as well as helpful in instructing us on what additional passes we'd need to enter and hike the park. We stayed in building 5 in a king suite and the room was spotless, inviting and with an ocean-front view with french doors looking out. It was just awesome to have coffee out on the balcony in the morning. Would highly recommend staying here!

This was a great place that was located very close to the town of Bar Harbor (about a 5-10 min drive). The staff were very friendly and the rooms were nice. It is important to note that during COVID, there is no daily room cleaning. The towels would be changed upon request but the usual maid service did not exist. Also instead of a usual buffet breakfast, orders must be made per room and submitted the day before for a pick up breakfast the next morning. This was a wonderful thing during this crazy time and they did a great job preparing! I would recommend the Nature Tour that leaves from the docks right behind the hotel! It was beautiful and if you book through the hotel there is a large discount!

Upon checking into my room 4209 on Monday June 7th saw several hairs in the shower which was absolutely disgusting. It makes me wonder if the room was even cleaned properly. After a long 8 Hour Drive my mother and I were tired and wanted to use the pool before we use the pool we called up to the front desk which promised me they would send someone down to clean it. Waited a half hour and no one showed up so finally my mother and I went to the pool. After my mother and I came back from using the pool the shower was still filthy with hairs all over it. That is completely unacceptable is the front desk promised to send someone to clean and never did. As someone that works in the hospitality industry I am a housekeeper and I can tell you that when I mistake like this , the proper thing Is to fix the problem and make sure the guest is taken care of and happy and none of the staff including management never did anything to correct the problem. But other than that the pool was relaxing but breakfast was a little disappointing the only thing that I really enjoyed was oatmeal I was hoping there would be bacon and egg sandwiches without the cheese as well .Given my experience At this place I am not sure if I want to come back.

So this is definitely a 3 star hotel, with the rusted steps & dingy carpet around, peeling deck steps from Bistro. Yet, the lobby was lovely, as was the pools. Our room was very clean! A little outdated. But you cannot beat the view. Waking up every morning to full ocean views for the price of this hotel made it worth it. Other perks— the front desk staff!! So nice & gave our kids stuffed animals. The Bistro food was surprisingly great! The breakfast selection (grab n go) was plentiful & good!! We really enjoyed it here & if it had some updating & cleaning in common areas, this could be a 4/5 star hotel! BaR harbor is breathtaking!

The hotel is located on the water with great views. The room I had was in the main building and was at the end and had both a balcony slider and a side window. There were boat excursions from the location but mine was cancelled due to bad weather. I was not impressed with the breakfast at all. Ended up having oatmeal each day and taking a packaged gluten free blueberry muffin (quite good) for a snack. I had two meals in the Bistro: the first was a takeaway burger and fries that was so-so (there were no seats in the dining room available). The second was in the dining room when I had a baked lobster and blueberry pie for dessert. Both were excellent! Although the room was spacious and had great views and a large balcony, it was dated and in need of sprucing up such as fresh paint. And good sound proofing would have been helpful. The bathroom vanity was very small. The water pressure in the shower was good. I liked the local area photos on the walls. The access to Acadia National Park is excellent. The hotel is not far from Bar Harbor. I had driven up in my personal car and put it to good use driving all around the national park. I did buy a very good map of Acadia NP with distances of trails identified. I found the signage in the park to be excellent. I was pleased that there were porta potties at many trail heads (not generally marked on my map). All buildings in the park required face masks and they had them available for free at entrances to the buildings. I'm already looking forward to another trip there! In three days, I just didn't get to everything I wanted to do and at times bad weather interfered with some plans, such as the nature cruise and the views from Cadillac Mountain (do reserve your access to the mountain online ahead of time!).

A good location, but not walking distance from Bar Harbor. Drive just a few minutes to an entrance of Acadia National Park in one direction and to Bar Harbor's many restaurants and shops in the other direction. A great spot if you like sunrises and/or a water view, but don't stay on the first floor unless you don't mind going outside to see the sun come up over the water. I saw 2 deer at sunrise, one went right up to our patio where I would have been standing inside of the slider and been 5 feet away! Our server at the Bistro hotel restaurant was very friendly, and front desk staff were helpful. We knew that we wouldn't have housekeeping or breakfast in a dining room due to the pandemic, so we accepted having to order food the previous night and walk over to pick up our bag in the morning. The Bistro had good food and a nice patio with water view, with an option to dine indoors. The rocky beach is extremely small at high tide and not good for walking. The room decor is outdated but clean apart from huge stains on our ottoman, lots of water stains on the ceiling and a misaligned patched-up bit of wallpaper by the bed (odd!) IF we are lucky enough to return to Mount Desert Island again, we feel we would find a better value at the Bar Harbor Inn or Harborside.

Room 7302 had a fridge, microwave and, hot water dispenser for coffee and/or tea. Breakfast is included in your stay and is similar to a Disney buffet; easily a $15-20 value. There is a tip jar for the hard-working staff who do a great job. If you want hot oatmeal or toast, just ask.
There are more places to choose from in the Bar Harbor area.
