June 2-5, 2008 Room: Josephine Macaffrey, on the third floor was a very nice comfertable room. To our surprise we could see Frenchmen Bay from our window. Room was neat and very clean, had bathroom with shower and tub. Nice thick blue towels!!! Food: I don't think five stars are enough! Ann really makes breakfast a new exciting experience every... A wonderful place! The rooms are gorgeous, spotless, relaxing and quiet. The staff warm and inviting. The afternoon cookies and breakfasts yummy!. I am a Maine native and felt like I was staying with family. The common rooms are large and well equipped with books, information about the area and really fun places to hang, especially if it's raining. Ask... More

Booked our room at Cleftstone Manor at the last-minute. There weren't many B&B rooms left in Bar Harbor, so we weren't sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the Charles How room and loved it. Beautiful antique furnishings. Big room and nice-sized bathroom. Very clean. The breakfasts were good and the breakfast wait staff very... More

We spent several nights in the Woodbury Park room. The room was large and comfortable. Don't pick this room unless you are an early riser, the light comes in bright and early. There is a door out to the roof of the first floor with 2 chairs. On a clear night we saw all kinds of stars and even the... More

With all the choices Bar Harbor has regarding lodging, Cleftstone Manor was the right choice. The location was great, only a few blocks away from the central part of Bar Harbor, close enough to walk, yet remote enough for solitude. The mansion was very well decorated with all sorts of antiques, and each bed room had a distinctive personality. The... More

The Cleftstone is a lovely B&B filled with antiques and charm. The innkeepers were very friendly and helpful. Our room was the Acadia Park room on the 2nd floor. The bath was across the hall - which was fine. The bedroom was not terribly clean and the linens were very old and worn. We had horrible allergies from the dust... More

We had a wonderful visit. We stayed in four different rooms over the ten days we stayed there. The accommodations in all were lovely and the beds comfortable. The breakfasts were superb. The innkeeper was very friendly and gave us lots of good advice about places to go hiking, things to do and restaurants to dine at. If we ever... More

I thought it was nice enough, but would not be my top choice. I stayed in the Pulitzer room which is on the road side of the hotel, and it wasn't worth the $200 night charge in my opinion. I appreciate the other reviews, and the Cleftstone Manor is nice for those appreciating the architecture and decor of the time,... More

My husband and I were looking forward to getting away on a vacation. I googled Bar Harbor and saw the website for the Cleftstone Manor and thought it the place for us. We have a passion for the romantic 19th Century time period. Cleftstone as built in 1881. We were so happy with our accomodations, we stayed two more days... More

My husband and I spent a long weekend here for our 11th anniversary. Anne, the owner, gave us a tour of the manor and told us all about the inn and interesting bits of information about Bar Harbor. The room was very nice, clean and breakfast was spectacular! Everyone at the inn was friendly and helped direct us to sites... More
