The Bayview hotel is so beautifully decorated in a classic, yet relaxed style. The only thing better than the facility is the staff. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and genuinely welcoming. The location is about 1.5 miles from downtown, which is easily reachable by paved walking/biking path or the very convenient complimentary shuttle service. The hotel has 26 rooms (?) so each guest is made to feel special from the moment you arrive. The only suggestion I have for improving an already impressive list of amenities would be to offer bikes (or e-bikes) for rental at the hotel. A special shout-out to Greg who was very friendly, knowledgeable about the area and the history of the hotel property, and a great shuttle driver.
Friendly, accommodating staff. Very clean. Stylish rooms and lobby. Excellent breakfast pastries. Nice bar with good selection. Less than 3 miles to downtown Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park's main access but also has complimentary shuttle if you don't want to drive.
View and staff friendliness were great but room, amenities and decor were SEVERELY lacking, especially given the price! Maid service missed coffee replacement and counter surfaces clean up and when we asked the front desk to make it right as we were going out for the day, they handed us coffee for us to run to our room instead of automatically sending staff to the room to correct the issue. Sliding glass door lock was broken, ceiling tiles falling out of ceiling, in bathroom, and there was a lock box half the size of any hotel lock box we've ever seen that would not fit all we wanted to secure. Additionally, hotel decor was an odd attempt at rustic + modern that came off as done by amateur. At over $800/ night it felt like a ripoff despite the view.
We had a wonderful stay at the Bayview! Our huge room was spotless and beautifully decorate. The bed with fabulous linens had one of the most comfortable mattresses we have ever slept on. We had a private balcony overlooking the water, it was truly lovely. The knowledgeable hotel staff were all extremely nice and the hotel offers transportation to and from downtown. Highly recommend!
Excellent room with a view- ability to walk out and sit by the water, friendly service, room equipped with microwave and refrigerator for left overs and snacks. Convenient location for Acadia National Park and shuttle service into town is a great service if you don’t want to walk the mile yourself. Continental breakfast is a nice feature although hopefully only a covid alternative for now
Thank you for your hospitality, Bayview Hotel. The team here made our stay special - Greg, Serge, Chamarie, Dixie - everyone we interacted with was so kind and personable. The morning breakfast, including homemade granola, was the perfect start to our day, the location to the park entrance and downtown Bar Harbor ideal, and the view was amazing! All we can say is thank you, Bayview Hotel.
The Bayview is such a beautiful hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the views were simply amazing. Within walking distance (20 minutes via the trail) of downtown Bar Harbor and only a short drive to Acadia NP. 10/10 highly recommend!
Could not have been happier with the choice of Bayview Hotel for our family Acadia trip. The rooms had a great view and the beds were super comfy. The service was outstanding. They packed to-go breakfast for us every day and had free whoopie pies in the evenings when we got back. A newer employee (Serge) went above and beyond and brought us a cheese plate to go with a nice glass of wine we had in the common area one evening. While the location was just outside of town - we loved how quiet it was and plenty of free parking for our rental car. It was 2 minutes from the entrance to Acadia and just delightful all around. Will stay here again for sure if we come back to Maine.
What a wonderful hotel. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smile. The entire staff was friendly and eager to help or offer advise on where to go. The hotel is beautifully decorated. Everything looks new. The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever stayed in at a hotel. The sheets were so soft I had to ask what kind they were. We had our dog with us and it wasn’t stressful at all. They welcomed him with open arms. We stayed in a ground level dog friendly room. All the rooms are ocean facing. It was nice having a deck outside our slider to sit on & watch the sun rise. We were a 5 min drive to downtown. The hotel does have a shuttle but we had our car so we didn’t use it. They had coffee and a bag breakfast every morning. Filled with delicious yogurt homemade granola, OJ and pastries. The only suggestion I have is to mount the TV on the wall with an arm so it can be turned to watch from sitting area. It was so big it barely fit on the bureau. The legs slipped off the edge if touched. Looking forward to returning.…
Friendly staff, awesome decor, beautiful views from the room. This hotel was great and I’d recommend it to everyone and I’d stay there again. The staff provided premium customer service going above and beyond the entire weekend with a smile on their face. There’s a free shuttle to go downtown in the afternoon/evening that we used both nights we were there. They have fruit water and snacks (the whooped pie was amazing) available at the front desk. There’s a coffee and tea bar set up. There was a concierge station on our floor with free bars, bottled water and ice. Free breakfast was a to-go bag (I think because of covid) and it was so good! I got the apple cinnamon muffin (yum!) and it also comes with super yummy granola, yogurt, OJ, and you can grab fruit if you’d like. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the decor when renovating and they told us they have plans for more renovations in the near future. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the sheets were the softest I’ve ever slept in! It was SUPER clean in the hotel and the room, too! Kudos to their housekeeping staff! 10/10 would recommend The Bayview Hotel!…
