We met two other couples here for Columbus Day weekend and loved everything about this Inn. Breakfasts are delicious and filling, the pantry is stocked with beverages & warm homemade cookies, and the staff is warm and accommodating. It is just steps from the ocean and bustling

What a beautiful and elegant Inn this is! We stayed in the Nutmeg room for two nights which was so charming. The only warning I would give is to tall people. I am 5'8" and my husband is 6'1" and the room has a low doorway and some slanted ceilings. We got used to ducking,

Stayed here for 2 nights in September with a group of friends (taking 3 rooms, total). The location is perfect--right in the middle of downtown, but just far enough off the main drag to be quiet. (Be sure to pay attention to the driving directions that they'll email you shortly

When is the best time to visit for the best fall foliage colors? Thank you!
It changes every year so check websites for peak foliage dates. We went mid October and it was just beyond peak but still beautiful.

Is there a beach within walking distance?
Danielle - We are a short walk from the harbor and, technically, there is some sand at low tide. But the nearest real beach is in Acadia National Park (Sand Beach). It is really the only sandy beach on Mount Desert Island, which features the storied rocky coasts Downeast Maine is famous for. If you're thinking of going swimming in the ocean....the water up here is very cold. The warmest it ever gets is 60F....so swimming is recommended only for the heartiest of souls.
