I found this hotel a few months ago and booked it based on the reviews, without looking at too many other Bar Harbor hotels. Did not disappoint. The view was to die for. We were on the left side of the second floor, so we couldn’t see the sunrise, but boy it was gorgeous. Breakfast was provided every morning and consisted of cereal, yogurts, bagels/ muffins, french toast sticks, eggs, bacon/ sausage. Staff was so friendly. A few times we walked to town instead of driving and it was about a 20 min walk. Overall amazing location. I would highly recommend and definitely stay again!
What a comfortable stay with amazing views. We had a one bedroom suite on the 2nd floor (room 206). The kitchen was well equipped with a full sized refrigerator, stove/oven, double sink, and microwave. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom was on the small size with limited counter space but everything was functional. Toiletries included Neutrogena shampoo/conditioner/soap/lotion and a small hairdryer was available. A full size ironing board and iron was in the room as well. Waking up each morning to see the view from the balcony was amazing. The free breakfast buffet was simple but hardy (scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage on alternate days, potatoes, toast, bagels, muffins, yogurt, cereal and fruit cups. Coffee, tea and juice/milk were offered too). There in an outdoor laundry facility on sight ($2/per load). The location was so convenient. The lodge is about 5 minutes by car to Acadia NP entrance and Bar Harbor’s waterfront. We’ll definitely return to Atlantic Eyrie Lodge the next time we visit Acadia NP.…
Let me start by saying I have never left a review on any hotel in my life and I have stayed at plenty!!! We traveled to bar harbor for a family vacation and stayed at the Atlantic Eyrie lodge for 4 days. We had a premiere king room on the 4 th floor. The view was incredible. We were overly impressed by how clean our room was, this is not a newer hotel by any means but was better cleaned in our opinion than most of your top brand hotels that are newer. We had our two kids with us which the couch made a bed for our son and the hotel provided a pack and play for our daughter. The breakfast was also wonderful, the two guys there in charge were always attentive to any need and everything was fresh and the muffins were my favorite! Breakfast/dining area was always so clean and well kept. The ladies at the desk were so helpful especially one we can’t remember her name but she was the best!!! When we come back to bar harbor we will definitely stay here.…
This is a wonderful place to stay in Bar Harbor. It has stunning views of the ocean from the room. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is great as well. It has a parking lot with plenty of spaces to park in. It is a short drive to downtown Bar Harbor or to Acadia National Park. I definitely recommend staying at this hotel if you are going to visit Acadia National Park.
My wife and I spent 3 lovely days at this hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, have functional balconies and have a spectacular view of the Harbor. It was convenient and comfortable with a free breakfast. An added plus was that the Bar Harbor Shuttle bus stopped at the Hotel's front door making it very easy to get in and out of Bar Harbor which has very limited parking. We plan to be back next year.
My parents, husband and I stayed at the Atlantic Eyrie Lodge in mid-June of 2022. We had a fourth floor room overlooking the bay. The room was spacious and included a king-sized bed, extra sink, a microwave and refrigerator for leftovers. Our room also had a balcony. The staff was helpful and friendly. My only issue is the6 have the same breakfast every day, but it is included. I recommend staying here for a great Maine vacation.
This lodge is so cute. The view from the room is wonderful— looking out over the ocean. To reserve a room you have to pay at time of reservation. BUT The carpet in our room was so dirty we hated to walk on. Believe me we didn’t walk barefooted. And breakfast had a lot to be desired. Almost everything was over cooked but by the time we got it the food was cold. They also had only one luggage carrier.
Pros: Spectacular view. Every room has a balcony. Great location - close to Bar Harbor, but is quiet and feels secluded. Comfortable bed. Easy to use laundry facilities. Breakfast is included, and includes hot items. The free Island Explorer bus picks up right outside the door and takes you to Bar Harbor, where you can also access other free buses to other locations on the island. Cons: Dated decor and soiled carpeting. The website states that the pool is heated from May to October. More like icy cold. I think I saw three people in it the entire time I was there.
This place had spectacular views; comfortable beds in a well sized room with a nice size balcony; staff was friendly; great location close to town without the bustle; pool, washer and dryers were bonuses too! Included breakfast had a good variety and saved us so much $$! Request a room on the 3rd or 4th floor for the best views. Added bonus: wake up early and watch the sunrise form your balcony. It’s magical and doesn’t require the planning of the Cadillac summit sunrise
So the view from the balcony was spectacular. Could see the cruise ships pull into harbor daily. The pool was very refreshing and you could get a decent lap in if others not there (not busy most times because it's cold initially). And you could sit by the pool and have the same harbor view. They have pool towels inside the breakfast area which was helpful. I chose this hotel because of the pool and it did not disappoint. the room was good sized, though bathroom a tad small, but it did have a 2nd sink outside the bathroom which was super convenient for 2 people. The pillows were too squishy for me, didn't sleep well but my friend liked them. On cleanliness, the tile floor didn't feel clean, it looked clean but felt sticky. we both noticed it and wore socks in our room. Not huge problem, but noticeable. I don't know if all rooms have tile- we were in a dog friendly room. Pet owners take note: our dog managed to hit the door knob when we left for a moment and opened the door- keep your dog crated if your dog is likely to do that. you can't bolt it from the outside. For noise- there was none. Our room was literally next to the bus stop and we never heard all the people out there waiting for teh bus. we were quite amazed. The hotel staff was nice, we didnt ask any help from them, but they were nice. The hotel is very dog friendly and we had a dog and it worked out very well with our first floor room for easy access to the pet area which they have to the side of the hotel. the pet can come downstairs via the outside and join you for breakfast on the patio. the free breakfast was basic but appreciated. Teh hot food was not great, but they had cereal, fruit and yogurt. It was appreciated. As others have said, there is a free bus shuttle from most hotels including this one. It runs VERY efficiently and you can take the dog on it! The hotel gave you a schedule and we used it to go into Bar Harbor but we also drove and it's like a 4 min drive. I would return to this hotel, but maybe bring my own pillow.…
