1st two days the room wasn't made up and I returned from work at 330 and maids were still cleaning other rooms. Never getting to me.
Emergency light never goes off, on all night
Great food and party options nearby. Souvenirs available also along with snacks & all kinds of beverages.
The oriental massage is expensive and they kept trying to have me purchase time with a lady of the night.
Near the beach.
On the plus side, the reception staff was friendly, the room spacious, the beds comfortable and relatively clean, and the WiFi worked well.
Cons: quite bad is the musty smell both in the corridors and the rooms, obscured by any chemistry. Unfortunately, you can't hold your breath all the time, because it's really bad. Second negative for me was the shower, which never really got warm.
Overall, there is a large backlog of renovations (defective lamps, rusty installations, furniture that you fear will collapse).

The area around the bed was clean, but the screws on the chair had come loose and it looked like it would break if I leaned on it, and the bathtub hadn't been cleaned so I didn't feel like getting in. The shower also had weak water pressure and it didn't feel like I'd been washed.
The toilet looked new but didn't flush well, and I tried to use the toilet in the lobby, but it was only slightly better than the public toilets.
It's fine for a short stay, but I think it could be a little neater.
The staff were polite, and it was easy to go between the parking lot and the room as it was close by.

The hotel is old. So set your expectations at minimum level. The room is ok. Standard amenities are available (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrush and slippers). There’s a swimming pool at the 6F but looks old too.
If you’re looking for a decent place to sleep, then this hotel should be ok. Hotel staff are all nice and courteous.
The RO is theoretically across the street from the beach, but it's a pretty big street and a bit of a hike from there, so expect to drive to beaches. If you don't have a car, you're not going to enjoy your Guam vacation much with the RO as your base camp! The rooms are quite nice, much nicer than the comparatively priced Marriott. HOWEVER . . .
The RO is simply depressing. The cafe was closed (no explanation) the entire time I was there. The meeting spaces have apparently been converted into a permanent bingo hall. Ooh, classy. The "mall" that's attached to the hotel is listless and half-empty. The BBQ restaurant is overpriced and not very good.
If you have a car and plan to spend a lot of time in your room, I guess the RO might be OK. But I found the experience unpleasant and was more than happy to switch to the Marriott -- not that the Marriott was all chocolate and sunshine, but that's a different story.
By the way, i did happen to have an opportunity to see some of the renovated rooms being done on Royal Orchid, it's really nice and at par with 5 star hotel, and at their present rate, it's a bargain.
As they say, Satisfied customers is still the best form of advertisement!
"The escalator has a electrical burning smell indicating an overload condition on it's system. Perhaps a fire hazard but who knows. "Read full review
