One of our goals visiting Guam for the first time is to try one of their famous luxury beachfront resorts. With so many in tow and just beside each other its so difficult to choose one. Much more their price range is within each other’s level. After so many days of picking and deciding which one to book, we found a good deal in Agoda which is 100 to 200 dollars less than their counterparts - that is Dusit Beach Resort Guam, a luxury beach front hotel located in Tumon Bay with direct beachfront access to the finest white sand, crystal clear Turqoise Blue waters of Tumon. It is a sister hotel of Dusit Thani and also their side by side. I was suprised to google that it’s only a 4 star rated hotel but for me its more than a 5 star hotel. At just around 450 SGD for a night for 3 people with breakfast this is a real good deal for us!!! We booked a Superior Queen Room with Extra bed. The room is equipped with 2 Queen Beds, extra bed, toilet/tub, lounge chair, study table, wardrobe, Wall TV, and WIFI. But wait the star of the room - the open air balcony with a stunning view of the Tumon Bay to our West and the surrouding luxury beachfront hotels and the Tamuning district to its East. Since we got the West view the Sunset is right at our doorsteps and indeed it shone. We have the most picturesque and immaculate Sunset view we ever had vieiwing right at our hotel room!!! :=) The hotel is adjacent to the Plaza mall right across the main intersection between Guam Plaza Resort. T by DFS Galleria, JP Superstore and the road that leads to the beach. It is well attached to the mall that you will have to pass by Luxury shops, stores and restaurants/cafe as you enter via the main road or the East side. We entered via the Plaza which has a connection to the hotel and there and behold we were greeted by its huge, massive, grandious lobby with a full view of the beach and the Tumon Bay on the West and some luxury shops on the East. Check-in was only at 3 PM and we just left our luggage to have some lunch before we check-in again. It was fast, smooth and easy and they offered us some Lime juice for refreshments. The only thing since most people checked-in at this time the lift is quite busy. They have 4 lifts in total all in one area so during peak hours of check-in, out and breakfast you have to wait a little bit. The lift area is quite spacious though and it was pretty fast except it gets busy and it goes all the way down to the gym, laundry area, kiddie room and access to to pool at the lower level. Nevertheless, we made it to our room which we were booked at the 9F. As we entered the room we were greeted by a very huge, massive, elegant, classic with a modern touch fitted to serve their guests with VIP treatment which we felt right away. True to its Luxury beachfront hotel accomodations this is what we have expected and they gave us even more!!!! The overall theme of the room is Palm Green with a touch of Light Brown, White and Beige tones. The design, color and interior of the room really gives you a sunny, beach vibes feel. As we entered the room there is a huge wardrobe with tons of compartmens and 2 long hangers where you could place your shoes, wet stuff from swimming, shopping items and bags. I loved that they put a big umbrella, slippers at this part of the room. They also provide a luggage rack at this area for your luggage. And to top it all off - a sleeping robe, perfect for those who loved to use it when sleeping or taking a bath like me!!! There is a huge body mirrrow also placed right in front of the toilet. The flooring as you entered is made of beige square tiles which also is the same for the toilet/shower. The latter is to your right and as you enter you would be greeted by a huge marbled top sink with tons of comparments, a huge classic mirror and lamps on each side. They offered tons of toiletries and ammenity kits which is anorher plus for us not to mention the packaging of Palm Green colours for them. Tons of toilet papers were also provided, a hair dryer and of course complete sets of Towels for the 3 of us. The toiilet is located to its right with its Japanese style automatic controlled bidet but unfortunately its not working only the flush. So we have to call the front desk and they sent the handyman right away but it was at night and he said the store room is closed - maybe they can have a 24/7 store room next time so this is a negative experience for us because we were longing for that Japanese toilet experience especially the automatic bidet, flusher and seat temperature controls. However, I loved the Palm Green walls on this side and that positive message about living near the beach. On the other corner of the toilet is the huge tub, another dificult thing to control here is the water mgmt. The knob that swtiches the shower head to rainfaill shower as well as the faucet for tub filling is so hard and difficult especially when we wanted to use the shower head - its not working. The previous hotel we booked which is half the price has a well maintained tub with which is easy to manage and contriol. The water pressure and heating is strong and easy to control though and I loved the huge space of this area where 3 people could fit at the same time. Afer the toilet, there is a well placed mini-bar area where the mini-fridge, kettle, and complimentary bottled water, tea bags, coffee and cups are located. Then onto the Bedroom area, next to the wardrobe is another compartment where you could place your bags and stuff, then there is a wide wall mounted flat TV equipped with tons of cable channels. We never really tried the WIFI much becuase we only stayed overnight and our data is fast enough. Under the TV is a wide, long table equipped with tons of compartments perfect to place your things. In the middle compartment is where safety box is located. The flooring has changed from squared beige tiles to wood style type giving you a warm feeling. The space is massive and to give you perspective we have 3 large luggages whch you could lay down and open them on one side and you still have the same space or more to walk and find your way across the room. After the under TV cabinet is the study table - nothing much going on here just a glass table and a beige cushion wooden chair. I loved their idea of Dark Brown organic trash boxes made of Rattan, or dried Palm leaves which adds flavour to the overall aesthetics of the room. The odd part of the room for us is their 3 massive stand lamps near the window. Its so massive placed beside a huge crystal wall mirror which finds it a it amusing to say the least - they could just have placed a simple stand lamp here because you may hit or touch them at any give point in time. By the window there is a simple wooden Olive green cushioned lounge chair and a glass coffee table perfect for your immaculate view of the beach ouside and the comforting room inside - well placed. Before we go to the balcony, let’s go to the star of the room first - the 2 massive Queen size beds standing side by side on a Green wall with Rattan wall paper equipped with 2 huge, soft, fine, clean pillows and a thick, comforting, smooth and sikly blanket. True to its brand - the beds are indeed comfy, clean, relaxing and just the perfect height, softness and texture. There is an extra bed provided for us but we didn’t use it because my parents can fit on 1 Queen bed so that’s how massive it is. I loved the hanging Rattan lamp it between beds which for me is perfectly placed giving boosts to the overall design of the room. The switch and controls for the lighting and automatic window curtain is located right by the bed table in between. Hotel deskphone and power outlets are also located here. For the airconditoning, the control is right by the wall near the mini-bar. I loved that they placed Rattan by the headrest which gives extra level of security for your head and comfort at the same time. Kudos to this Dusit Beach Resort!!! Other than the bed, for me the best part of our room is the fantastic view of the beach and hotel pool/grounds outside thru a small balcony. The room has partial view but for me this is better than full view - only that the balcony doesn’t come with tables and chairs. We don’t have a full view of the sea but for me this is better than that. Not all the time we would have this Bird’s eye view of the very long stretch of fine white sand beach and its grandious beachfront five star hotels of the Tumon area. We have the sunset view facing West so on our first day right after we checked-in we were greeted by this marvelous, incredible, beautiful sunset of our lives and luckily it was a sunny day that itme. The sunset greeted us upon check-in with its romantic view and stunning colours of orange, yellow and pink. This really addsa cherry on top of the icing. But wait there’s more - the automatic curtains gives the sunset a very magical and endearing experience of our lives!!! Of course, we never missed to take our lovely photos and videos here to capture memories that will last our lifetime. We plan to have sunset beach and dinner at the hotel but we got a relative in Guam who invited us for dinner so we didn’t get a chance to swim that night or even watch the show at the lobby lounge area but we still caught a glimpse. When we came back that night the show was over but there is a live band located at Tabu bar located at the beach side. Guests have free beachfront access and night swimming is still allowed at the beach sadly their pools and gym close very early at night around 7 PM so you have to do everything before that. I just enjoyed the night with a hot tub and cold beer while enjoying my favourite shows and caught up on some readings. The night view by our balcony only gives a few glimpse of the lights emminating from the beach front hotels and the light of the Pale San Vitores road. Just after midnight we called it a night and slumbered into our thick comfy beds until we woke-up the next very sunny day excited to have the sumptuous international breakfast buffet the hotel has to offer. We missed the sunrise on the East because we wokeup past 7 in the morning but we still have a picturesque view of the beach right in front of us - bright, sunny and clear. We came down a bit late than we have planned to have an early morning swim. We came down around 8am in the morning and the Palm Cafe is packed already with families and kids all over the place enjoying their delectable spreads. Despite that we still have a good table near the window and the place is again huge and massive theire is room for everyone despite the crowd. The breakfast buffet is well organized and segregated so not to congest the guests. As you enter there are already dinning tables placed perfectly maximizing the space with enough room for guests to walk. There is a table for protein like ham/sausages/bacon and eggs in multiple ways right when you enter. On the far left side is for the bread and pastries. On the right end are the main cooked dishes which includes rice, noodles, sauteed veggies, to name a few. Drinks and typical breakfast fixtures of milk, orange juice, cereals are located near the main dishes. Then at the center is where the huge square table where fruits, cheese, cold cuts, salad, Asian options are located. I loved their Green glass which they served water perfect for the overall theme of the hotel. The freshly brewede coffee is also a must if you’re a coffee lover. We enjoyed a great deal of time having our delicious spread of rice, pastries, noodles, saugsages, bacon, ham, eggs, fruits, salad and cheese that we spent almost an hour here before we left and headed to the beach very full and feeling very satisfied and yummy indeed. The beach is right outside Palm cafe and can be accessible if you go out or take the lift going to P level via the Gym and Pool. This is the same beach accessible to other non-beach front hotels which we tried when we booked Guam Plaza. So we know what to expect - fine white sand beach, crystal clear turqoise blue waters, just the perfect temperature, not wavy but very calm and still and most of all we saw some Silver fishes whilst swimming which we didn’t see on our previous days. You could rent a sun lounger or umbrella by the beach but since its still early in the morning we still have a sunshade blocked by the hotel because its still on the Eastern side which is absolutely perfect so we won’t get too tanned by the sunlight. We spent a great deal here spending almost 2 hrs because its our last day before we checked out. Not to mention, the beach is also not too deep similar to Boracay which means you could walk way way up to the middle of the sea and its still not even getting up to 5 feet deep. So least to say the beach is perfect for families with kids and for those who couldn’t swim. We took a lot of special, memorable, happy photos and videos here together that will serve as our token that we were here in Guam and will embed forever in our hearts and minds. After almost an hour, my parents went back to our room to shower and prepared our luggages for check-out. Snce we share the same toilet I decided to spend more time on the beach and of course try their pool. Since were near check-out we don’t have time to try the Gym but when I asked the front desk even after check-out we could still use the gym till 3 PM. After a good deal of getting healthy sea water theraphy and morning sunshine tan, its time to try the pool. The only thing there is only one shower outside so you have to use the shower inside to rinse yourself. So there will be lines at some point like what happned to me because some people takes a long time to rinse. Regardless, I took my towel and a dip in their perfectly warmed pool - not too cold, not too hot. The pool is a continuous round landscaped pool with activities like a waterfall right at the center, a baskteball, islands in the middle and a slide for the kids. I couldn’t remember how deep the pool is but there is a lifeguard on duty. I swam the whole pool and took some photos all over the place and its IG worthy spots like the Big Chess, Rock facing the Tumon Bay and the falls. After taking a few mins dip its time to go back and check-out. Before leaving our sunny room we took a couple of selfies and shots for us to cherish our one night stay at this cozy hotel room. We checked out just on time at noon and I informed my parents that I will have a few mins of gym first before we head off for lunch. They waited for me in the lobby and I tried their gym located at P level and it was a small but efficiently used space with all the necessary equipment you need for cardio, weights, etcc. I used the Cross Trainer and Stationary Bike because the threadmill is used and I did got my well deserved exercise for few mins. At the same level is their own laundry area and Kids activity area. Since our flight is not yet till evening we left our bags at their luggage area at the P level and decided to do some last minute shopping frst. My father stayed at the hotel and enjoyed some Tea and Apple pie at the Grind which is open 24/7 for Grab n Go. After we came back we had our late afternoon lunch at the Beach House Grill locaed at the beachfront beside the pool if you want to relax, breathe the ocean, and enjoy the atmosphere of the sea right in front of you. We ordered some Hotdogs and Fish &. Chips and surprisingly the prices were affordable for a beachfront cafe right inside the hotel. In Guam, water is free upon request so you can save money by just getting free ice cold water. The food was good, yummy, satisfying and we were very full and satisfied. Fries and Onion rings were fried to perfection crispy and crunchy. Hotdog was juicy and tender and the Fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Nothing could get better than this with your ice cold water and yummy food right in front of the beach - life is beautiful!!! The kiddie water pool and playground is also located at this side. We stayed here for almost an hour, walked a bit in the afternoon sun by the beach, cherished the views and took some memorable photos and videos before we headed out to the airport. Ahhh if only we could have stayed one more tight at Dusit Beach Resort and our stay in Guam would have even more perfect. Regardless, we are happy, satisfied and amazed by the one night experience we had at Dust Beach Resort Guam and nothing could get better than this. If we will go back to Guam, then definitely this hotel will be on the top of our list to stay for a relaxing, memorable, special, delightful and VIP Experience we deserved only at Dusit Beach Resort Guam. So friends do check Dusit Beach Resort Guam if your visiting the islands you will definitely get the well deserved break and sunny experience of your lives!!!! Keep up the Exceptional work Dusit Beach Resort Guam especially to its helpful and cheerful staff!!! Hafa Adai and See you Soon !!! :=)…
