If you are looking for a tropical mega-resort, American Samoa is not for you. But if you are looking for an authentic South Pacific experience and a very clean and comfortable place to stay, you can't do better than American Samoa and Sadie's by the Sea. The rooms are large, and the furniture, though rather basic, is well-maintained. In particular,... More

My two boys, aged 13 and 15, and I had the great pleasure of visiting Sadie's by the Sea. It was one of the most special experiences of our lives. We were overwhelmed by the kindness of the owner and the team. We were welcomed as family into their home. A special visit was arranged for us to explore the... More

We sat on our patio and gazed at the beautiful scenery when we weren't eating or sightseeing. The location is excellent and the setting is perfect - beach, pool, great restaurant, really good service from everyone.

The location is decent, within walking distance of most major government complexes. The food was okay. The beach isn't much of a draw. And for some reason, the floor was always wet when getting out of bed in the mornings and coming back in the afternoon. I think it was condensation from the AC. Internet access is extremely slow. And... More

Points well taken. It's difficult to explain the wet floors -certainly if it was from the AC it would be puddled below the unit. One review suggests that the floors never get mopped -maybe housekeeping was mopping yours night and morning? Regarding furniture, following some local guests it is always a challenge keeping up with senseless graffiti. I believe that... More

Seems like every time I check-in to Sadies it just goes from bad to worse. Wasn't until the next morning I notice how dirty the rooms are. Housekeepers do not sweep under the beds, or mop the floors, walls could do with some spot cleaning, and furniture was littered with graffiti, scratches and wear and tear. Sadies need to invest... Good spot right "by the sea". Food was good. Service was traditionally slow like everywhere else on the island but the people's kindness and permanent smiles make up for it. Air conditioning is controlled by the hotel key so it doesn't stay on when you're gone. I would recommend grabbing an extra key from the desk unless you enjoy coming... More

"Private" beach was always trashed. Parties in the evenings littered the beach with bottles, Styrofoam containers, cups, chip bags. Never cleaned. Roaches crawled out of sink drain. Mattress was about 15 years over its life span. Staff pleasant.

We reserved Sadie Thomson Inn for 24 Dec. on 3 Nov. through Expedia. When we arrived at the hotel, hotel was closed. A taxi driver from the airport helped us to contact hotel people. And a staff from Sadie's by the sea came to pick up us. We heard that Sadie Thomson Inn was closed three months ago. I never... More

This is 2 stars motel in US standard but 4 stars on this island. People are friendly even cock roaches greeted me as I entered the room. Sadie by the Sea aka Trash on the Beach. Facilities are Motel 6 like. Stain on towels and linens are normal. Wifi and A/C work are the most important things for me. Coin-op... More

Very enjoyable stay at Sadie's, during 2 day business trip to Pago Pago. The room was spacious and comfortable, the air conditioning worked well (not noisy) and included free wifi. The bar and restaurant are on the harbour front, with great views and a cool breeze. The hotel also has it's own beach, which looked nice for swimming and sun... More
