We spent nine wonderful nights at this resort this last November. The resort is quite clean, with three very nice pools, a large number of hot tubs, a large and swimmer friendly lagoon, two restaurants, one pool bar, and a marketplace. The two bedroom, two bath villa was clean, with a nice kitchen, fully stocked with cookware, refrigerator, cooking range, dishwasher, ,washer, and dryer. The villa was located in Hale Nai'a (Tower), although "mountain facing" still had a view of part of the ocean, marina, and nearby port. The villa has two balconies, one in the main room, and another in one of the bedrooms. We ate in each of the restaurants, and purchased food that we prepared in the Marketplace. The marketplace was terribly overpriced for food items and toiletries, but the price on local beauty products and merchandise were not marked up very much. The overinflated cost of food in the marketplace, the low quality, and price of the food in the two restaurants, was the reason for this resort getting a four out of five stars. All of the employees were extremely kind and friendly. They were knowledgeable and able to point us to places on the island to visit, and good quality restaurants. There is a nearby ABC Store (Island Country Market) located 1.3 miles away near the entrance to the Ko Olina community. A Costco, Target, Down to Earth (Vegetarian Grocer), and other stores and restaurants are located 4.8 miles away in Kapolei. We made most of our food purchases in these stores. Honolulu International is 20.7 miles away, and took just an average of 30 minutes to get back and forth. Waikiki, Ala Moana, and downtown Honolulu are about 45-50 minutes away depending on traffic. The pools were quite nice, with the one that spends most of its time in the shade of the Nai'a tower heated slightly. The lagoon has very small waves, with the jetties breaking up the majority of the waves prior to them entering the lagoon. The sand is at a shallow incline which continues into the water, allowing you to get out a number of feet into the lagoon and still able to touch the ocean floor. The pools are typically around 0.9 to 1.2 meters in depth, with the majority in the 0.9 to 1.0 Meter range (3-3.5 feet). One pool is a quiet pool for adults only, and the third pool as a sandy kitty pool for smaller children. The resort has three grilling areas. The one I used, was closest to the beach, and had an amazing view of the lagoon and sunset. There were a number of grilling utensils (tongs, spatulas, etc.), but of the 12 grills, only 4 worked well, with another 6 only getting one half of the grill to light, and 2 grills not working at all. The resort offers a number of activities for both adults and children, some at a small fee. There were a number of things going on each day, and plenty to choose from if you didn't want to leave the resort. There is a Fia Fia Luau every Tuesday night, and a torch lighting ceremony and small preview of the Fia Fia on Monday evening. Our experience here was great, and I would be happy to stay here again. However, I will not make the mistake of eating in either of the restaurants or buying groceries in the Marketplace again.

I came here with four of my family members and we had the best time! We had a top floor ocean view room which had the best views. It was so quiet on this side of the island, unlike Honolulu or Waikiki. We loved that. The resort had great pools, hot tubs, beach, and cove area for swimming. The sunset was second to none.. and we got to see it every night! They also did a luau on the resort which was great. I can’t recommend this place enough. Just amazing!

We were doing a big move from USA going back to Korea and we stopped by Hawaii for vacation for a week. Since we were completely exhausted by huge moving, we didn't plan to do the photo shooting at Hawaii, although my wife always wanted to do so. At Marriot Ko Olina hotel, we were going through the pamphlet the hotel gave us and found the Blinnk Photography saying that it is free, which was hard to believe. I called, asked, and figured out that the photo shooting session is free but for files and printing, it is not, which made sense. We also asked the pricing and realized that the pricing was not bad considering that it is linked to the hotel. Since the shooting was free, we decided to give ourselves a chance to stand in front of camera and see what happens. We booked a session at the sunset time (5:00-5:45PM) in the next day. We showed up at the booked time and met our photographer (so sorry to her but forgot her name.. I will update the review after I get the email response from Blinnk). She was so kind, cheerful, and smily for the whole time. Thanks to her, even though we were with a 6-months old sleepy baby who was very cranky, the shooting was very exciting. We wandered around the lagoon and palm tree area and took a lot of photos. She suggested good spots and poses, which ended up giving us a great set of photos. She even allowed us to pick shooting spots and poses after the booked time was over while always smiling. Next day, we met her manager (again.. so sorry Blinnk folks.. I am super bad at names.. I know I should have noted..). She played a video that has good photos and recorded videos, which we liked. There were 200-ish number of photos and the manager showed us the pricing table (I won't disclose the details in case the pricing will be changed). We wanted to keep all the photos but it was a little too much cost so ended up getting 20 best shots. In general, I enjoyed working with Blinnk and strongly recommend their photo shooting service for the Marriot hotel customers since they already stay in the hotel, the photographers' skills are great, and the pricing is not bad compared to photographers you could find on Instagram, Google, etc. P.S. For privacy reason, I didn't upload my photos here but they look great!

This is a wonderful resort in many ways and the staff is great! We had a 7th floor room overlooking the pool and it was really noisy. If you happen to be one of the few people not with children but want an ocean view, you may want to ask to not be over one of the pools.
