At $30 a night with really friendly staff, there is no room for complaint. And you get a chance to get to know other travelers. The Hostel also rents out cars and bikes to their guests. The location is good because it's easy to get to pretty much anywhere you want to go.

I have been to Hawaii a few times but never Maui so was excited to see the island, I was supposed to stay for 3 nights but left after 1! On arrival the accommodation was very run down, I was advised I couldn't use the ladies bathroom which was a bonus because compared to the gents was a state. 1... More

I would like to start off by saying I came here without looking at any ratings first, a friend found this by calling around last minute for me. As soon as I made it to the entrance, the vibe somehow made me feel unsafe. The man at the counter was kind, which would turn out to be the only plus... More

I had a 15 hour layover in Kahului en route to Honolulu hence this hostel. I am not a fussy traveler and is used to backpacking so I can rough it up if only for one night. I just needed a place to sleep and shower. For a dorm room bed with a rate of $40+ I think this is... More

Booked this spot at a last second, following a mishap with finds and airbnb. First of everyone here is more than accommodating! Making sure I knew my way around and the rules to coexist with the other guests. I left to go explore the island to only find myself coming back to book the rest of my vacation to stay... More

The building is LEASED, in very run down condition, and nearing the point of dilapidation. Because it's already leased, the owner isn't interested in putting any $ into it, and of course the people leasing it aren't interested in putting any $ into it because they don't own it. And that's definitely a lose, lose situation for anyone who might... More

Do not book a double room here, it is more a doss house than a hostel. Hot noisy rooms with tiny fans share filthy cooking facilities and one dirty shower/toilet with cockroaches. Rooms are very expensive on Maui, but this is a complete ripoff. Only suitable for rock bottom budget travellers, and even then it would be much better to... More

Most of my trip was spent at the Maui Coast hotel, which was a very pleasant experience. Due to my own absent mindedness, I mistook a 10 PM flight as a 10 am flight, checked out and as I reached the airport, I found out the mistake I made. The choice was now between spending 12 hours at the airport... More

In short this place is a hole. I extended my trip over the holidays and simply couldn't get anywhere else. My initial feeling checking in was that the staff were nice and the place cheap and a little quirky. That soon changed. The place is full of crack heads, drunks and permanent residents, it's not a hostel. I saw a... More

The condition of this property was dirty. My friend and I could not even sleep in this room because of the giant spider! We couldn't leave fast enough! In Europe, hostels are much nicer than this. We used Air BnB to find a better room for the same price this place charged.
