We stayed February 9th through February 16th, 2010. Unit E-9. Starting with our first full day the noise and commotion outside our room facing the sea was deafening. Backhoe loading and unloading very large boulders, Trucks with Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep loading soil and dropping off the boulders, many double the size of a large beach ball. And then... More

The guests were notified about the emergency repairs and closure of our beach front building due to a 'force majeure' more than a month prior to their arrival where they were offered to receive a full refund or an alternative accommodation. They have accepted to take a different building however, the owners next to their unit started a remodel which... More

The best part of our stay at Kahana Sunset was the beach at the condo. The first day there I went down to the private sandy beach and noticed some movement over by the rocks. I went out with my snorkel gear and discovered about 5 sea turtles hanging out, feeding on the rocks! I snorkeled with them for about... More

My husband and I and my family stayed here for just over a week in the A building. We got two rooms, A7 which my parents stayed in was updated and nice and A3 which we stayed in with my brother was not updated and kind of uncomfortable. We had a few minor problems with our room, when we got... More

My husband and I stayed here for our 10th anniversary. We stayed in C5, which had two bedrooms. We don't like the busy crowded resorts so this was perfect. The unit we were in was remodeled. The private beach was beautiful. There was hardly anyone ever swimming and we saw a giant turtle right by the shore. We recommend renting... More

I stayed in condo B1 with my husband and another couple for 1 week over the Christmas holidays. This was my first time to Maui and I booked the unit via VRBO. The owner was very responsive and helpful and the transaction was handled by Sullivans who was also very pleasant to deal with. I was a bit wary about... More

We stayed in two units at the Kahana Sunset over the Christmas holidays. The complex has immaculately maintained grounds including the pool, BBQ and beach areas. The private beach was just big enough and a perfect place to spend several hours. However, if you're looking for long walks on the beach, you won't find it at Kahana Sunset. The complex... More

The unit: We booked unit D7 through Sullivan Properties. This agency was great to deal with. The unit was fabulous as well- updated throughout with granite countertops and newly tiled showers. The carpet seemed old but nothing too gross. We were pleased with the kitchenware available and had everything we needed for our stay. There is no AC, and in... More

Arriving at the Kahana Sunset, our room was infested with bugs - small beetles, cockroach, and bed bugs. The Property Manager with Sullivan Properties, fumigated the room but would not move us. After numerous bites on our skin, we were finally moved on the 3rd day. The next room was ok but only could stay a few days. The next... More

First, the Kahana Sunset Homeowner’s Association does an excellent job of keeping pests to an absolute minimum at the Kahana Sunset with routine quarterly spraying from a licensed pest control company and with non-scheduled treatments as needed. Second, all of the property management companies and owners that rent condos at the Kahana Sunset do a very good job of maintaining... More

We so needed a relaxing vacation. Staying at Kahana Sunset allowed us to do just that. We spent most of our 9 day stay on the lanai enjoying the amazing ocean view. There was no AC but we were still comfortable. The unit was very nice but the view was outstanding. The grounds were beautifully maintained. There are five new... More

We stayed at Kahana Sunset on Maui in July of 2009. We rented a two bedroom, three bath condo in the "B" building through Sullivan Properties. A friend had told about Kahana Sunset and even though we thought all her ravings about the condo, grounds and price were a little exaggerated - we discovered she was right on. The condo... More
