Beautiful grounds and quiet. We had a garden view and enjoyed waking up to the tropical birds singing in the trees outside our window. It was nice staying on the first floor and being able to enter or exit our room via the patio. The pool was nice but basic compared to the surrounding resorts. No water slides or waterfalls to swim under though it hardly matters being so close to the beach. There's a nice outdoor dining area next to the pool which is odd considering there is no restaurant or food served at this resort. Again, it hardly matters because there are lots of food options nearby. I enjoyed walking the grounds and looking at the beautiful plants and trees and collecting all the brightly colored plumeria flowers that had fallen to the ground. The kids had a good time and it was nice to come back here at the end of the day. Front desk staff was excellent.…
We just spent the most fabulous week at the Kaanapali Alii! We took our 13 family members to spend the best week ever...we had 3 two bedroom condos, and 1 one bedroom condo. All the condos were beautifully appointed, with fully equipped kitchens, laundry facilities and gorgeous views of the pool and beach. The Alii has pools for everyone...a little kid's pool, a "family" pool, a "quiet pool" for adults and a large jacuzzi. Perfectly maintained gardens, a very short walk to beautiful Kaanapali Beach and easy access to Whaler's Village. The perfect place for a family vacation!
Not a luxury condo as advertised. Unit 194 prob hasn’t been upgraded since early 2000. Mold in BA & inside dishwasher. Shower glass doors have that hazy build up since they weren’t properly cleaned. Dusty stained curtains. LR rug & furniture are old & smells. The entire unit has that moldy smell. Pool is not clean. Pool & beach chairs & cabanas have seen better days. Time to retire them. Pool towels are old & frayed. Overall property is nice but it’s clear that things have not been kept up to date. And they need to find better cleaning crew. People who will do more than surface cleaning. Proximity to Whalers Village is nice. Although WV is a big tourist trap with everything so over priced. Next time we’ll stay closer to the town.
Booked a package through Costco and ended up with an amazing 7th floor 2 bedroom ocean view. It was slightly dated but honestly not that big of a deal. It was wonderful to have the space, a full laundry, a big fitness center, and a full sized kitchen while traveling with a large family. Not having a restaurant on site was not a big deal. We made our way over to many of the neighboring hotels for dining and the Whalers Village was extremely close. The Westin next door was bustling and my kids ended up making friends with some kids staying there. The surf on our side of Kaanapali was pretty rough for a few days and there is a pretty big undertow...so careful with that. 100% recommend.
We had a great stay here with our family of four. (Kids 9 and 11 years old). We stayed in a two bedroom condo. Condo had everything we needed to complete our stay. Steps to beach and right on boardwalk. Short walk to shopping and restaurants. Beach towels and chair are provided during your stay. Would definitely recommend!
Our family of 4 recently stayed here 4 nights. It is comfortable and well-located for activities in West Maui. Can walk to restaurants, pickup point for excursions, and an ABC store. Friendly and responsive staff. There is a nice gym and pool area. Having a living room, kitchen, and laundry made for a great stay. I recommend a unit with a view. So nice to relax on the private balcony!
We were on the 10th floor in a 2Br ocean view room and paid 48K Hyatt points per night. Place was very nice, pool is a bit small but we just sat in the sun and could bring our own drinks to the pool which in Maui saves a small fortune vs Pool bars. Plenty of chairs, quiet, ice machine, towels. Nice workout room, check in is a bit hard to find as there are private condos so no signs. If we visit Maui again we would stay here but would opt for the 30Kpoint base room as the screened in partial ocean view is not a place you can hang out and get sun in the afternoon like our oceanfront room we had at Hyatt Waikiki beach
We have been to the Kaanapali Alii so many times I forget how many, and we never get tired of it. Right in the middle of hotel row, but since these are condos (not time shares and the owners literally pay between $1.5 million to $4 million for them and average 1500 square feet, you can't call them a hotel and the owners take good care of them and there is a management company on site in case any issues come up - and they rarely do. They are also a five minute stroll to Whaler's Village mall. You're in the middle of everything, but quiet at the same time. If you're tired of rows and rows of lounge chairs and being packed in like sardines by the pool , you'll love this place. Yes, they have tennis courts, yes there's a gym, no there are no restaurants (just walk 2 minutes to a bunch of restaurants.) Yes, there is a top-notch BBQ area available to guests and even someone there to cook your meal for you. One thing we would suggest is that you need to make a decision, there are some rooms that are recently remodeled and gorgeous and some that are average (but still big) so if you're picky go for the platinum room which is obviously more expensive. But its a tradeoff. Which do you prefer, a recently renovated room, a view or both. There are a four different views, Garden View (more like looking at a parking lot) Mountain view (great view but no ocean view, Partial ocean view (catch a glimpse of the ocean, ocean view (or favorite) or Ocean Front). Almost all units (perhaps all) have two bathrooms -even the one bedrooms have two which is a must for my wife! Enjoy!…
We stayed a week at Kaanapali Alii. The location could not be better. Whalers Village is a great shopping and restaurant area within walking distance. Black Rock Beach is a little further past Whalers Village and has great cliff jumping and snorkeling. Grocery shopping is 5 minutes and the airport was around 45 minutes. Our condo was very nice. We could not ask for anything more. The pool and beach were very clean. The entire family had fun! What's missing? Wi-fi throughout and at the beach and pool. No bar or restaurant right on resort. Great location, friendly staff, you cannot go wrong with Kaanapali Alii.
Stayed a week in 405 with my 2 adult children. This was a 2 bedroom with study that they had furnished as a bedroom. This unit has been updated and is decorated beautifully. I love this complex. It is in a perfect location. The beach here is great and I felt the chair/umbrella rental was reasonable. We saw tons of whales right off the beach. You are close to Whaler’s Village and other resorts and restaurants. I did not miss having a restaurant or bar on property. We like to go to our favorite places anyway. Book this, the views are stunning!
