The location is great. You can easily walk to restaurants and stores. The grounds are very nice and well maintained. Two pools and hot tubs, shuffleboard and koi ponds. Many units (including ours) had wonderful views of the ocean. You could hear the waves from the balcony. It was great. You cannot swim or beach walk as the water is too high here but a short walk provides some nice beach areas.

Our unit came with beach chairs, fishing rods, boogie board, beach towels and some snorkel gear. I think our unit was B407. Netflix was included which was nice. There is a washer dryer for convenience. Again, the view was great. The kitchen was adequately stocked with plates, etc. We slept 5 adults but you have to be comfortable with open sleeping on a couch fold out.

But it was very shabby and kind of dirty. Wires come out of walls and drape around the room. The shower and shower curtain were dirty. Not enough TP. The deck chair pad was dirty and ripped up. The bedroom curtains were dirty and ripped up. They looked like the very hungry caterpillar chewed through them. The window frame was rusted and the pain is all peeling. Hall light fixture had no cover, just a bare bulb. The upper bathroom has a window into the bedroom below so you hear everyone going to the bathroom while in the bedroom. It would take very little money to actually make this unit fresh. For $6k a week I think you could fix this. I would be ashamed of renting this unit until I had fixed the wires, light, paint, curtains, and chair pads.

I would stay at this resort again but I would choose a different unit perhaps run by a different rental group?

Aloha, Thank you for sharing your review. Unfortunately, B407 is not managed by Aston, but we will make sure the management company will be made aware of your comments for improvement where it may be practical and applicable. Despite the inconveniences, we hope you were able to find enjoyment on your Maui Vacation and hope to someday welcome you back on your next visit to the islands.

This Lahaina resort was lovely as the grounds were well kept and the pool was clean with many attractive areas for outdoor dinners, avail bbqs, evening strolls and the like. There is no restaurant and no beach but you can pull up your lounger on the spongy soft grass (if you are taking a break from sight-seeing!) and enjoy the *incredible* ocean view. There is much whale activity in February as it's mating season.

This Aston at Papakea is next to the ever popular "food truck" extravaganza. It also connects to the picturesque Boardwalk, there is a grocery store, bar, fast food takeout, souvenir store in the mini mall and a Slappy Jacks within short walking distance.

Spectacular beaches to the south and ones for snorkelling a short drive to the north (do your research on the safest times!) Minutes away from the amazing Honoapiilani Highway with a few fruit/banana bread stands if you need a break from the breathtaking views! PS do not irritate the locals on this HWY pull over if they're driving faster than you! The front desk staff at the resort is incredibly kind and towel service is swift (not free after 1 set with Costco.)

I will warn you not to book through Costco because they bought 5 of these units and do not maintain them. Many units are privately owned (lucky them!) The carpeting was disgusting, the walls were dirty, you wrestle sliding doors, the sink had a horrendous garbage smell emanating from it and the rusty fridge needed replacing. A little goes a long way had Costco just invested a little of their annual 21 billion income. Why not make guests feel they're sleeping in clean quarters? We were taken to another unit that was less desirable than the first. Thankfully being in Hawaii we were not room-fixated but for the upgrade COST for an oceanfront room I would have expected much better. 1 clean service 1 towel service for 2 weeks. Like I say, I'm sure the Resort has better care with direct customer reservations but Costco fails *for what they charge you.* Don't waste your money on Costco. Book your own accommodations.

I can not say enough good things about our stay. They have 2 pools but only 1 was open due to Covid. When we arrived it was only open from 11-6:30 but shortly after it went to 9-9. the staff were incredible at making sure lounge chairs were sanitized between each person using them. they were right on it. In fact they have to be the hardest working resort staff I have ever seen. they work together like a great team. to get the pool area ready everyday. WiFi covers the entire grounds. I worked out everyday by the seawall. my kids did there school work in our room. We rented directly from the owner. The unit was incredible. If you needed something they had it. Spent a lot of time sitting on the Lanai watching the view. speaking of the view. multiple times we were fortunate enough to see a pod of dolphins going by. Jumping and frolicking about. a couple turtle as well. All in all. this is a great place to stay.

Aston at Papakea is a great family resort. It's not complicated to get to, conveniently close to grocery stores and restaurants and wonderfully laid back. The room we were lucky enough to get was ground level, with very easy access to the waterfront, pool and BBQ's. The patio is a touch small, but it's not that big of a deal.

The room could use with a bit of updating, as it is a little dated, but that wasn't the end of the world. The kitchen appliances all worked with no issues, as did the washer and dryer. The washer and dryer are a little small, so you'll probably have to do a few more loads of laundry than normal, but can't be too picky.

The room fit our family of five without a problem at all and we all had enough space to stretch out without feeling too crowded which was also nice. We'd definitely return given the chance!

We were trying to keep our second Hawaii trip a little more affordable this time and avoided the big and expensive hotels. We found this place a few minutes north of Kaanapali Beach and it was small but had everything we needed. First time ever experiencing a Murphy bed and it saved a lot of room. Each condo is different but we had to purchase a few beach essentials (cooler, chairs) since the ones provided didn’t work. The cooler had a hole in it and the chairs were very small. The location is right on the water but there is no actual beach front at this resort. Two Small pools and putting greens are on the grounds and you can definitely see a great sunset. Kitchen had everything you need to cook inside and there where multiple grills outside if you wanted to BBQ. The location is good with several stores minutes away and right off the highway. Also parking was included. I would probably try somewhere new if we make it back to Maui, but this place fit the bill for what we we paid.

Resort is good. Not every Condo is created equal. They are all run it like a AirBnB/VRBO but have a front desk to handle basic stuff. My room B206 was a one bedroom Condo with an awesome view but completly outdated and feels like you went back to the 1970s.

You will pay an additional cleaning fee ( mine was $175) and a resort fee of $65 on top of my nightly fees at checkout.

Overall, I'd go back to this resort but do research to see which room is updated to at least thd late 20th century..

Aloha jrtraveler07, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. You are correct, all of our units here are individually owned and most are managed by a management company for vacation rentals. Based on the unit size the cleaning fee differs and all guests are required to pay a $17/day facility fee (10 day cap/month). We apologize for your accommodation inconvenience and we thank you for advising us of updates needed to this unit. We will be sharing your review with our ownership and leadership team to improve where necessary. Despite the unit being outdated, we are happy to know you enjoyed the view from our property and hope you enjoyed all of Maui as well. We look forward to another opportunity to host your stay on your next vacation. Mahalo

This location is perfect. The property grounds are well manicured and very easy to get around. The buildings are older but well kept, all units are privately owned, so the decor will vary. We spent a month mid February through mid March, a spectacular time to go and watch the whales right from your balcony. We were in building A ocean front, a perfect place to kick back, relax and enjoy the view. The property is quiet, not a big high rise, just 4 floors, so quite peaceful. There are 2 pools, gas grills, covered pavilion with rest rooms and a putting green. Perfect for families or couples without all the distractions of an overwhelming resort. There are restaurants and some shops within walking distance, as well as a grocery store. The beach is very minimal but you can get in the ocean and swim very easily. There is a grass area ocean front with plenty of lounge chairs. The staff from check in to maintenance were very attentive and friendly. A few small maintenance issues were addressed within minutes. These are condos, so you will need to provide your own necessities. There are washer & dryers in the units so you can wash your towels. We were given clean sheets every time we asked for them. Great location, great service, it’s not the Ritz, but way more convenient and down to earth.

Our family of 5 (and my sister's family of 4) just returned from a 6 night stay. We booked through Costco, my sister independently. The property itself is beautiful: the grounds are well maintained, there are two pools and hot tubs with two very large shaded lanai's poolside with tables and chairs. There is a lovely grass lawn with chairs up to the seawall. There is no beach to speak of, but you can access the ocean down a set of stairs, and a true beach is just within walking distance. There are restaurants, grocery store, snorkel rental, ABC store all also within walking distance.

Now, for the drawback: all of the units are owned by different people and it really is unpredictable what you are going to get. We booked a 2 bedroom, and the first night we checked into C401 which was a 1 bedroom with a loft. It was not updated at all, and while the surfaces were very clean, it was old with dirty stained carpets, stained curtains, and old bathrooms. There was a strong smell of curry as soon as we entered as well. After staying one night there, the central office was able to move us to H204, which is a LOVELY updated unit that is clean, modern and bright. If we had had to stay in C401, I think I would have given our whole stay a 1.5 star rating instead of 5.

My sister's family was initially assigned H204 but needed a second bedroom with two separate beds. They got moved to H203 (also a beautiful unit), so everything worked out really well for us, and we ended up next door to one another. It seems that the management is willing to try to move you if you are unhappy, but if there is no other unit, you will be stuck with what you get. In this day and age of VBRO, AirBNB when you can see exactly what you are getting, this is really a downer. I would not have paid money to stay in C401 if I had known that was what we were getting and would have chosen a different resort altogether.

I think I'd only stay here again if I could be guaranteed to know what condo I would be getting. It is a tough call.

We stayed in E403. The place was clean and well stocked, and had a fantastic view of the ocean. The pool was great, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The location is also good, being near the ocean, stores, and restaurants, all in easy walking distance. I walked across the street to Java Jazz for coffee every morning.

Of course, things weren’t perfect. The shower in the master bedroom drained very slowly, and neither the AC nor the WiFi reached our bedroom. The floor to ceiling mirrors also took some getting used to. But overall, if for some reason I’m ever looney enough to go all the way to Maui so I can stay with 6 other people, I would try to stay here.

Aloha Emma, It would depend on the type of room you booked. A Studio can only accommodate 2 people, a 1- Bedroom can only accommodate 4 people, 2-Bedrooms and 3- Bedrooms can accommodate 4-6 people based on fire codes and unit size.

There really isn't a beach. There is a sea wall but you can walk down to a beach which is also quite rocky.
