Enjoyed a two week stay at this beautiful resort. The lobby, grounds & pool area were truly lovely and kept very clean. We rented a one-bedroom ocean view, and it was simply awesome. We especially loved the large lanai, and it became our favorite place to hang out in the morning and evening hours just enjoying the view. Yes, the beach area is sadly slowly fading away but there are many great beach areas close by. We liked the fact this resort had less people around due to being slightly smaller and it really felt more special. This was a bonus. They had a lot of different daily activities you could participate in too. A really wonderful staff who helped us whenever we needed it. A shout out and thank you to Justin who offered us a review of our unit when he delivered our luggage since we had never stayed there before. We declined the weekly room cleaning offering and just texted when we needed anything, and items were always promptly delivered. The valet car service was super handy also. One hiccup at checkout was that we had been charged for a buffet breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Hotel next door and that was not ours, so it was credited back to us so DO check your bill before leaving. Also, during our 2nd week there, the people staying in the unit next to ours thought it was ok to feed the birds every day and I mean FEED THE BIRDS as their lanai was covered in food! The birds were much more aggressive on our lanai that week too as we were so close by being right next door and the birds left a lot more droppings everywhere. The cleaning staff would have more work to clean the lanai because of this for sure. The birds come around to say hi without having to feed them. HVC should remind guests not to do this. We did not have this problem at all during our first week. We also appreciated that you could donate any non-perishable food to the local foodbank and the resort took care of this. Thank you. Our hearts go out to Lahaina also and thank you for sharing your paradise with us. Overall, it was a great stay. Aloha!

What an incredible spot! We have visited Maui many times and love the location, the best spot on Ka'anapali beach. Our friends own multiple weeks and at their suggestion, we opted to share a stay in their 2 bedroom 12th floor Ocean view Hyatt Residence villa.
WOW! What an incredible experience.
Let me preface that we have spent many trips in the last ten years staying at $800-2000 night properties for a week in Wailea, Ka'anapali and even Waikiki before. If only I knew eight years ago about this Hyatt Residence club. I could have saved almost $100k on my past trips to Maui and have paid off my Ownership by now. Then I would just be traveling to stay here on my Maintenance dues.
The people on here who are complaining have no clue. This is a luxury fractional ownership property. If you want Montage and Four Seasons levels of service then spend $2000-4000 per night.
However if you are looking at a property you can own then go one property over past the Marriott to the Ali'i and spend $12,000 for a week like we did in a 2 bedroom last year. There's no Lobby, no Activities for kids, no complimentary valet, no salt water pool and no Bi weekly maid service let alone kindess from all the Hyatt staff we met. Every owner we met at the Pool was happier than owners we met before at the Marriott next door, or the Westin or the Hilton Hawaiian village. Which are comparable properties when purchasing, however don't come close in quality and luxury of villa, amenities or service. Very glad we purchased and looking forward to our trip next year!!! 🥰✨️

I was looking through photos and remembered I never published my review but.. "Say Less!" was my motto throughout the entire trip with an amazing group of family friends. I was lucky enough to join this timeshare experience when the State of Hawaii lifted the 14-day Q as long as we were able to provide valid COVID19 negative results 72 hours within landing. Hospitality at the Residence Club was impeccable from arrival till the very end of our trip, we were greeted with smiles at any given time. We stayed on the 8th floor with a magnificent view overlooking the resort and beach where we could hear the waves crashing for hours, soothing. Every time I looked down from the balcony, I could see someone cleaning and sanitizing equipment and lounging areas, nice to know that this resort is taking safety precautions seriously though this pandemic. Fitness floor seemed a bit small for such a large property but the equipment provided was enough to get a full body workout! Masks are required to be on during workouts and are also enforced for everyone's safety, sanitation wipes are available. Actually, masks are required to be on at all times if you are wandering around in the resort but may be taken off outdoors once you've acquired a spot to settle down to avoid a mask tan! Even if you are vaccinated, it should be a courtesy to have mask on regardless. Location of this resort is pretty awesome, you can run 2 miles along the beautiful coast into the nearest shopping plaza. Overall, my friends and I had a wonderful time here at the resort, maybe because this was just the fifth day of the reopening process for Maui and there wasn't as much people.. I'm sure by now, fast forward few months things have changed and much more things are open. Hopefully, I'll get to revisit this resort sometime soon!

I am enraged, hotel charged me a $500 smoking fee and my family doesn’t even smoke. My wife has asthma, we have toddlers and I’ve never touched a cigarette or cigar in my life.
Just another shady motel charging guests fees for something they didn’t do.
Front desk managers were very rude when I tried to plead my case. I even offered webcam footage of my entire stay in my room just to prove that I never smoked at all in the room. They would not provide me with any photos or evidence of me smoking in the room and would not accept my recoded evidence discrediting their accusation.
This place is a scam, always check your folios for added fees. That’s how these hotels make their money.

We have returned to this property 3 times since I wrote our first review in 2018, 2 since Covid changed travel. I have to say, that the staff is simply wonderful. They do an outstanding job considering they have so may State mandated rules to follow. Guests are required to wear face masks while in the property's public indoor areas but once you are outside, you can remove them. Considering that everyone that travels to Hawaii is vaccinated or tested, you feel safe here.
Units are still very comfortable and well stocked. They no longer have regular housekeeping but our unit was serviced mid point in our stay. If you need anything at all, they will promptly bring it to you such as toiletries, change of towels, etc.
I was very impressed that staff actually remembered us! They must have some pretty amazing training here to be able to recognize return guests and to always greet us by name.
We enjoyed the pools and cabanas at the Hyatt Regency Maui Hotel next door, We used the pool area at the Residence Club as well. Utilized the poolside food and drink service at both properties.
We will definitely be returning to this property. Once you stay in their spacious units, it is hard to go back to a hotel room. There is so much room, love being able to have breakfast and coffee on the ocean view lanai and a washer and dryer is a huge plus as you don't have to pack so much.
We have a routine down...grab the rental car at Kahalui Airport, drive to the Safeway in Lahaina and stock up on food supplies for the week and head to the property to check in. The Bell Staff have bins to put your groceries in and deliver them to your room along with your bags. Valet Parking was great and prompt considering how many people are coming and going.
Kudos to a wonderful staff in every department.

My only regret was that we only booked one night here! This place was so roomy and so well-appointed, you could legitimately live comfortably here (aside from the whole affordability part). The huge lanai could be accessed from the main living area or the bedroom. We had stunning views from our room (3802). It was perfectly quiet, clean, the bed was ultra-comfortable, and the kitchen was nearly as good as mine at home. It had high end appliances and basically any tool you might need to prepare and serve a meal. There was a small washer and dryer tucked into a closet and that was nice for quickly drying our swimwear.
The employees were super helpful. We were looking around to see if we could spot any lizards because we like them and don't see them back home. One of the hotel employees asked what we were looking for and we told him, and he gave us a tip of where one liked to hang out. The next morning, lo and behold, we saw the one he mentioned, right where he said we would.
The grounds were beautiful - full of tropical flowers everywhere. It was fun to be right on the beach, too! We snorkeled and saw lots of different fish there.
I would stay again in a heartbeat!

We got a beautiful one bedroom unit, but mountain view since we are not owners at that Hyatt property and it seems that the owners get ocean view priority. I have to say that the mountain view was quite stunning and I didn't mind it since it was peaceful. However, there were other things that I wasn't happy about during our stay. For example, I expected a beach at the resort and there is no beach now. It seems there used to be a beautiful beach but there has been erosion and that is not the case anymore. Worrysome! Anyhow, if you want to seat near the beach just for a view of the ocean, the cabanas are at least $150 or more for the day. Beach chairs cost around $75 which I think included a drink from the bar but still pricy. Most of the people were just haging around in the swimming pool area where they could sit for free. My advice if you want to go to the beach, rent beach chairs in a snorkel shop at the beginning of your vacation and go to the public beaches nearby but you will need a car and I do recommend that you rent one. Also, go early in the morning so you can find a parking space. Another thing I wasn't happy about at this resort in Maui was the mid week cleaning of the unit. When we arrived after being out doing tourism on the day of the cleaning, we couldn't tell that the maid had been there. They did the bed, collected the garbage and change one towel in the bathroom. That was it. They didn't clean the floors, clean the tables, clean anything in the kitchen at all, replenish supplies, etc. We were very disappointed. I called the front desk and they sent supplies that we needed, and housekeeping called me about the cleaning but two days afterwards and just to make notes. Shoud you visit Maui? Yes. Should you stay at this Hyatt? I'm not sure. Maybe you can find a resort with a beach? But if you are really a beach fan in my opinion the Hyatt timeshare with the best beach is Hacienda del Mar in Puerto Rico. It has a beautiful beach with free beachchairs!

We are owners from the beginning, kind of disappointed by the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, service, room prep, and housekeeping. There was no hair dryer,in either room(2 bedroom unit) one washcloth for both rooms and only 3 towels. The couch has stains on it.The inside handle of glass door on toilet stall came off in my hand. The toaster has dents on it.Trivial but the usual tiny salt and pepper shakers that is usually there was absent. I realize it's not the workers fault but lack of employees to hire excuse is getting really old. At this point you have to wonder why they can't hire people, is it the resorts policies/benefits etc. With the amount of money I spend on maintenance fees you really have wonder where the money is being spent. Still having a great time (here currently) but makes you really think about keeping it.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a 1 BR on Hyatt points, and Hyatt is to be commended for not adding on fees on those type of stays, as opposed to Marriott/Westin Hapuna which charged us resort, parking and smaller misc fees that really added up. This is a great family resort and I think offers good value in pricey Hawaii. Our room was large and well appointed, with a sizable balcony with both a table/chairs and nice outdoor chaise-type couch perfect for spending time on balcony. Since it was a points stay we did not face the ocean, but our Mountain View overlooking the golf course was very nice and probably quieter than overlooking the busy Kaanapali walkway. Huge bathtub was a plus, washer and dryer were the noisiest we have ever heard! Rooms seem to be pretty well soundproofed. The challenge to this resort right now is the lack of beach right in front of the resort…we did not spend much time on Kaanapali beach but I could see how that would be challenging for a family. If you want a better beach experience while staying here, rent beach chairs from Snorkel Bob’s and walk down toward the Sheraton, the beach is really wide and nice in that area. Complimentary valet parking was a real bonus since some resorts charge for that! There was a large corporate event throughout Kaanapali while we were there which meant some areas of the Hyatt and other hotels were unavailable to regular guests and increased the crowds. The area was not as busy as over Christmas, but still very busy and so we probably would avoid a late July/early August visit in the future. I am sure it is much quieter after kids go back to school! It’s a good place for kids/teens…not so much for couples!

My family and I stayed at the HRC in Maui for a week, and we were blown away by the resort. We have two teenage boys, and the 2 bed, 2 bath with a foam mattress sleeper sofa was perfect. Located right on Kaanapali Beach next door to the Hyatt Regency Hotel, you can walk to shops, restaurants and snorkeling. A nice perk we discovered was that HRC guests also have privileges at the Hyatt Regency hotel next door, including pool and room charges. However we stuck to the gorgeous and much less crowded pool at the residence property. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the huge balcony overlooking the ocean with a view of Lana’i island; the full kitchen was great, and and washer dryer in unit were very convenient (think pack light!!). We ordered instacart to stock up for our in-room meals. Lahaina provisions downstairs has a small market, and food items to order for breakfast, lunch and you can order a luau style dinner delivered to your room. Property grounds are gorgeous. We could not recommend this resort more highly.
