This B&B is absolutely beautiful. A Balinese-style open layout design with fish ponds and a pool, nestled on a hillside overlooking the sunset. It's quiet and private, a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of crowded tourist areas. The property is in the hills, not beach-side, but it's a very quick drive down to the beaches for some sand, surf, and snorkeling. We stayed in the Honu room, which had ocean and garden views from the lanai. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we loved the outdoor shower and deep soaking bathtub. Breakfast each morning was always delicious and our host Dan could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We were so grateful for his kindness, assistance, tips, and care. We would highly recommend this spot to friends, particularly couples who are looking for a quiet getaway. We definitely look forward to staying here again! Note: We visited in November 2020 and felt very safe the entire time we were at Ho'oilo House. Our hosts took pandemic accommodations very seriously: mask-wearing was required, everyone kept their distance, and everything was sanitized regularly.

If you need luscious views, lovely tropical decor, attention to detail, all adding up to a relaxing, reviving lodging: this is it. The proprietors bend over backwards to accommodate -to ensure peace and beauty are the primary focus for your stay. Thank you, Dan- for everything; you provided sanity and a quiet haven till departure was necessary!

Excellent B&B, views, solitude. Our room and bath/outdoor shower were impressive. And the couples massage Dan arranged at the last minute for our anniversary was amazing...definitely not the back rub we got in A"rub"a.

My husband and I stayed at the Ho'oilo House for our five year anniversary trip and had a wonderful experience! It's up the hill just south of Lahaina, so you have easy access to town and the main road to take up and down Maui. We really enjoyed the lovely neighborhood with beautiful views of the ocean, all while being away from the tourist chaos of the big hotels. And oh my goodness all the stars you can see at night! Breakfast every morning was tasty and healthy. Dan was super helpful and we really enjoyed chatting with him. Our room, Honu, was lovely and the bathroom was massive! Would definitely recommend Ho'oilo House to our friends and family!
