Was travelling alone. Owner was very accommodating letting me book day by day as I wasn’t sure of my plans. When unable to accommodate me one night found me a space in another property he owned further into lahaina. Excellent service and staff at the hostel very friendly. Excellent value for money.
Simply the best hostel I have visited in my life. People who work with love, with Joy and with enthusiasm. Martin, the best manager in the world. Without a doubt the best experience of my life. Thanks Tiki.
Friendly staff. Good location. Clean enough. I booked a bed in a dorm but it was smelly so I changed to a tent, which I welcomed. The tent was small but comfortable. It contained a proper single-bed matress and bedding. My concerns were that sleeping in a tent meant keeping my suitcase in the tent and whilst the front doors to the hostels seemed always locked, the side door stood wide open and anyone from the outside could enter the grounds. They do have CCTV but it means little unless you have a person decicated to watching the monitors, which it wasnt the case. The staff was moving about and couldnt possibly always keep their eyes on the grounds. There is also the issue of noise. There is a 10pm Quiet Time but it didnt prevent other guests from clampering the guitar till 1am, outside of course where tents are. There is also a school next door so as of 7am you hear the kids shout and cry. And there is the 5.30am wake-up call by the person in charge of Lahaina's grass-mowing/cleaning leaves and the noise of the machinery is deafening. Unless you are a very deep sleeper, or have super earplugs, this place is too noisy for a good nights rest in a tent. Then there are the smokers. Smoking is permited in the garden right by the tents, which is bad news for non-smokers like myself. And the place is too cluttered with people. I think they intended to make the place lush, friendly, homey but its overcrowded. I think greed must have kicked-in at one point and they build a glass-house in the garden with several beds+2 additional rooms that have been created by putting up bamboo screens. And then the tents. Its too much.…
About a 5 to 10 minute walk from the bus stop and the centre of town. Next to but separated from the beach. Friendly staff who were keeping things immaculately clean. Large comfortable shady area outside for relaxing, two indoor lounges and two well equipped kitchens. Quiet time in the evening observed, not a party-hearty hostel. Ask for a bed in the dorms inside, those in the tents outside may not be as happy.
The hostel welcome you so well that feels like home. Beautiful garden, the glass room was such a great place to sleep in. Stuffs are so helpful and friendly. Breakfast is amazing, the energy of the place is so special. Having a shower under the trees was beautiful. Can’t thank you ALL enough for the great memories, specially Martin, great soul. See you next time! Mahalo. 🌈
