We had our trip planned for July but it was canceled due to the COVID pandemic and the travel restrictions. We had reservations for condo A405, John and Beth Kassis, owners, and they have refused to give our deposit back. Nobody was expecting anything like this pandemic to happen and we would have gone if this hadn’t have happened. The owners should have done the right thing and refunded our deposit. Lesson learned be aware of the owners who you rent from and make sure there is something written in the cancelation policy about pandemics.
Wonderful location, clean, comfortable condo - among the many things to like about the location and the condo we stayed in. We (my grown sons and I) stayed in a condo 405B. The balcony/lanai overlooked the ocean, the condo complex yard, and the beach. It was a well-stocked condo, very clean, very professional and communicative owners/hosts. Great location just north of Lahaina - easy access to explore the west side of Maui and a lot of great snorkeling spots. We kayaked and swam right off the beach in front of the condo unit. The snorkeling there is not good. There is great snorkeling just a bit south at Airport Beach and Black Rock Beach. Surfing north in Napili. Several turtles swim by the beach and come onto the beach to rest. Great place to hang out and relax - sunset from the balcony at night was memorable. And, you can spot whales breaching and playing right from the balcony as well. Overall a great spot from which to enjoy Maui. We were there in March - so the whales had not migrated north yet. It was awesome. The condo did not have air-conditioning, but that wasn't an issue with the ceiling fans and the ocean breeze. The balcony had a screen door as did the front door of the condo, so the cross breeze kept the condo perfectly cool. The weird part was the many guests who got up and "staked out" their spot on the lawn every morning. They'd go get their lawn chairs at 6:30a, pick "their" spot on the lawn, drape a towel over the lawn chair, clip the towel to their chair or fold the chair over to hold the towel in place and then leave the chair there all day - whether they were sitting in it or not. And, follow the rules, even the ones you don't know about - or "they" will talk about you, give you "looks", and make passive-aggressive remarks - "perhaps you should go speak with the building manager about where to store your kayak". Instead of just telling you there is a storage area behind the pool house - We'd stay here again because of the condo owners, the condo itself, the location, the whale and turtle-watching from balcony, and the very nice little private beach. Plus, it's just a short walk to some great food and a short walk/drive to the Kaanapali beach area, Lahaina, Napili, Olowalu, etc.…
We stayed in Maui Sea Shell Condo - number A305 - in December 2019 and can’t recommend it enough. The unit is modern, clean, and in great shape. They have snorkeling gear and boogie boards to borrow, and everything you’d need in the kitchen. We loved the location - within walking distance to a great grocery and fish market - but a bit quieter than the bigger resorts. The beach out front was beautiful, though a bit rough when we were there. The views from the unit are incredible - we saw whales breaching in the distance and loved seeing the turtles come up on the beach. It was a perfect spot for our family vacation and we can’t wait to go back!
I am sure each suite is different. Our suite was fairly updated, spacious and comfortable. We had a full on view of the ocean (3rd floor) as the building is right on the beach. I have never stayed anywhere this close to the beach. It is very quiet and clean. The location of the resort is convenient to Lahaina and going the other direction to Kapalua. I have never seen large sea turtles on the beach before! We had a 3-turtle day recently. The swimming on the beach is wonderful. You don't really need to use the pool. No A/C but you don't need it with the open windows and ceiling fans and breezes. Kitchen was stocked with all the necessities for cooking, even some condiments. Parking was a breeze. There is an elevator. Only con is no gas BBQ's! Old school charcoal and starter, which kind of wafts towards and into the suites. We did not have wifi so we were always hassling with tethering. Otherwise, as said, we will be back!…
We loved stay at Sea Shell Condo A-305. It was clean, comfortable, and updated, a perfect place to celebrate my wife's retirement and our wedding anniversary. The oceanfront view off the Lanai was stunning, particularly watching the sunsets. Whe pool, quick access to the beach, and manicured lawn made it the perfect place to relax and wind down. I would not hesitate to come back!
