We loved stay at Sea Shell Condo A-305. It was clean, comfortable, and updated, a perfect place to celebrate my wife's retirement and our wedding anniversary. The oceanfront view off the Lanai was stunning, particularly watching the sunsets. Whe pool, quick access to the beach, and manicured lawn made it the perfect place to relax and wind down. I would not hesitate to come back!
My family and I stayed at Hale Mahina twice over the past few years. Both times we joined a family who has been staying at this complex for 15+ years. Among this group are 4 senior citizens, 2 couples and 4 children. While we have enjoyed the location and our stay, the resident managers Larry and Lynn make things very uncomfortable. They watch you like a hawk all day and run out of their condo as soon as they hear a noise. Our children who range from 2-12 were very respectful and followed the pool rules. At times they would get excited and their voices would go up. At these times Larry would run out at scold them. There were other children that were not part of our group in the pool and when they would get loud, everyone would get yelled at. We appreciate how quiet the complex is but feel that Larry goes overboard. We also feel like we were being judged for the behavior of other groups we were not part of. We tried to book condos again for next year, but were told that groups could no longer book at the Hale Mahina. We are happy to take our business elsewhere. Our group is very family oriented and no longer wish to support a complex that discourages families. If Larry and Lynn were to move on we would be happy to come back to the Hale Mahina.…
We stayed in unit A305, which had a wonderful direct ocean view and the unit was nicely updated and well stocked. This is not a hotel. So there are no daily services, as It is a condo. We did plenty of cooking in the kitchen which had spices, and coffee filters, and had more than we expected! The beach and swim area is shallow, calm and safe, and we saw giant turtles daily and enjoyed snorkeling. It's close to restaurants and shops and downtown Lahaina. We really loved our stay. The only minor negative issue for us was that there is very loud traffic noise from the bedroom which went on all night during our stay and made it difficult to get a good night sleep. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars!! The owners were very pleasant to work with as well. I look forward to returning again, hopefully soon!!…
We stayed for 2 weeks in February. We are semi retired and found this a perfect place for the 55 and over crowd. The other vacationers were all friendly and enjoyed the daily happy hour at the charcoal bbq's. The condo is right on a sandy beach, which is swim-able only on calm days. We saw turtles and breaching whales daily, and twice the endangered monk seal rested on our beach overnight. Our ground floor unit was a bit dated but perfectly homey and practical. Big well stocked kitchen, nice lanai. The bedroom is on the back side of the building so there was some parking and street noise, and no crashing waves to lull you to sleep. Laundry in the suite is a bonus. We found it too far to walk to meals out so mostly shopped at the local grocery stores and ate dinner in. It disturbing that the buildings recycling program had been cancelled, and we were told instead to put everything in the garbage. It would be nice to have information about where instead we could drop off recyclables. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it for those looking for a home away from home (versus a hotel or resort). …
This is our 3rd trip to Maui, we normally stay in Kihei, we decided to try Lahaina for this trip. We stayed in unit B101. Unit was very clean, had every amenity you could think of, the view from our Lanai was amazing we could see the whales jumping and the beautiful sunsets. We saw Turtles every day on the beautiful private beach as well as a couple of monk seals had come up on the beach to sunbathe. I can't say enough good things about Hale Mahina, Larry the resident manager was very friendly, and always kept the grounds and pool looking immaculate. We will definitely be back and will recommend Hale Mahina to our family and friends! Mahalo Jill & Dan
