If you are staying at the Westin villas or anywhere close by along the Ka’anapali coast in Maui, don’t miss the cultural programs organized by Keola and Maka at the Westin Nanea. We participated in presentations on the Hawaiian language, Hawaiian dances, and a botanical tour, as well as a commemoration of King Kamehameha’s legacy, and got memorable insights into the background of one of our favorite vacation destinations.

Arrived for first time to Nanea after purchasing a Westin timeshare some 5 years ago. We were very excited to finally visit the new property. Beyond the usual Covid closures of facilities we entered our two-room suite to find urine and tp in the master bedroom toilet. TP and detritus were all over the floor. This we could have just dealt with until we opened the closet door in the master to find the mirror on the back of the door was covered in dried ejaculate. Yeah, that 'll turn your stomach. We called the front desk and asked to speak to the manager and they forwarded us to the Housekeeping manager. No apologies --just an offer to send a cleaner!! Now we went on a real inspection and found the balcony was covered in bird feces and dust. In 40 years of travel all around the world, this hotel had the worst quality control of any major hotel chain I've ever seen. We are strongly considering leaving early if the level of service does not improve.

Aloha Michael W, Your review is extremely concerning. Please reach out directly to the resort to provide further feedback. Our goal is to exceed guest expectations and when service failures are shared without resolution or closure, a call to action is required. We look forward to hearing from you personally. Mahalo.

Our first week here (and we've been owners since before Nanea was even built) started off poorly, as we were placed on the ground floor of bldg 7. While that works for folks who want to get to the beach (and the amazing kiddie pool/kiddie beach combination quickly), we wanted on as high a floor as we could get. After expressing my displeasure in no uncertain terms, along comes Aleksandra Loudermilk, Guest Services Manager. She takes over and the next morning sees that we're moved to the top floor of Bldg 1. Most gsm's would stop there, but not her. She then looks up our two-week reservation next March, and gives us 6-7 different rooms to select from, including photos she took of the view from the room. Who does that? Talk about going above and beyond...I'm still shaking my head at how poised and solution oriented she is. Btw, if you stay for at least two weeks there is maid service, they will take your trash away anytime you call and they have water refilling stations that I know save us $100 easy. So, Maui's open, the Westin Nanea is the best property on Kaanapali Beach, and Aleksandra will take great care of you!

Our stay was May 8 - 15, 2021 This resort did not even provide bottled water, a pen or a pad of paper. There was no maid service and the restaurant was closed. When we asked why their was no pens or water in the room we were told it was because of "COVID". We were told when checking in that their was no maid service because of "COVID" and the restaurant was closed. But they will take your money... Besides not being able to rent a car (rental fleets were sold during the pandemic), Uber and Lyft took 20 - 30 mins because no one had a rental car. They still want you to come to Hawaii, but Hawaii is not ready for visitors. Expect to be disappointed.

Aloha CURGC, Thank you for choosing to travel during the pandemic. We apologize that our modified resort operations did not meet your expectations. Please be sure to reach out to any manager on duty to discuss your resort stay in detail .

Writing this review on day six of our stay at Westin. So...positives so far, beautiful resort with beautiful views of kaanapali beach. And we are in Maui, finally after a year and a half of lockdowns, at least that’s what we keep reminding ourselves as we are being followed, policed and monitored every minute of our stay! Our room is a two bedroom oceanfront and has a beautiful view. Master has a separate tub and walk in shower and a double sink. The second bedroom is a tub shower, which surprised me a little, would have been much better as a walk in shower at a high end resort. Our kitchen was not furnished for six people, more like for two. Had to call office a dozen times to bring up kitchen supplies. Now, that being said, they did supply us with whatever we needed and quickly. Beds are comfortable. Now, the negatives for us, were, this is definitely a family resort for small children. Kids everywhere!! No avoiding kids, this resort caters to small children. Pools are full of children. First three nights, we had small children screaming off balconies all night long, finally called security, but continued well into night right around dinner and sunset. If you are getting away without children or are retired, book with Westin kaanapali next door, way more relaxed and quiet. Westin kaanapali also has adult only pools and hot tubs. You have to pay $20 per day for chairs on beach and extra for an umbrella. Parking is also $20 per day. Now, for covid policing and monitoring, who knows how much longer this will continue, but as of now, it was annoying, degrading, like having a babysitter follow you around the resort 24/7. Mask monitoring, even outside, unless you were sitting at a table or pool chairs. Not so much on beach though. We had a family of six, could not push chairs together, had to be separated by twos, no matter what. And they policed that heavily! Normally, you could go back and forth and use facilities at both Westin’s, not during covid. We walked down to utilize kaanapali hot tubs because they still didn’t have nanea hot tubs working entire time we were there. We were sitting in the hot tubs enjoying the live music and a security guard kicked us out and said we needed to return to our resort. Lastly, my husband and I were working out in the gym, side by side on ellipticals and once again a security guard made us separate to every other machine. My husband has exercise induced asthma and usually puts mask over mouth, but below nose, when working out. The gal monitoring exercise room, stood behind my husband his entire workout and made sure he wore his mask over his nose. Now, for you sheep that think this is ok and common sense practices for my husband and I not to workout next to each other, although we sleep together and that my family can’t sit together, although we are together nonstop, this is the perfect resort for you. For the people that actually use their brains and have common sense and follow the science, this resort may be very annoying to you, especially after paying $700-900 for your room per night. You go on vacation and spend your hard earned money, to relax, and be catered and pampered to, not to be scolded your entire trip. We were very respectful with our mask wearing, but the other covid practices made no sense whatsoever.
