We have been spoiled! Our 3 bedroom unit was spacious and had everything we needed. Paula the manager goes out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect. We really liked the location. I felt like we had our own beach. Being able to walk to restaurants was wonderful too. I highly recommend the Lahaina Grill (get your reservations months in advance) In the past we have stayed in Kaanapali and Wailea. I like Puunoa on Baby Beach the best because you're not fighting crowds and it's just so relaxing. We will never stay at a big resort after being spoiled at Puunoa!
Our family of 10 are enjoying the most incredible vacation imaginable. We rented two of the units, both 3-bedrooms, and felt like celebrities. I can’t say enough about Paula, the on-site manager who anticipates your every need. She goes well beyond expectations to ensure the whole experience at Puunoa is magical and memorable. Being able to walk out the patio door and be on the beach, without navigating hotel elevators, fighting for a chair at the pool, paying hotel restaurant prices for each meal...amazing! Especially during the Covid concerns we appreciate being together yet away from crowds. I’ve been to Maui many times but this week at Puunoa will always rank the highest of them all.
Lahaina is amazing as i Maui as a whole. Staying at Puunoa makes it even better still. Very small and therefore privacy guaranteed while being ablo to snorkel at baby beach straight in front of your room as turtles pass you by......does life get any better? The units are a little outdates maybe on the inside but maintenance is impeccable and you have a LOT of space.......very very highly recommended
Wonderful amenities and great location. Easy access to Baby Beach and walking distance to Lahaina. Baby Beach is protected by a large, almost impenetrable, reef. This provides an ideal environment for snorkeling but less than ideal for paddle boarding. A fall from the board would surely result in injury because of the shallow reef.
We just returned from 10 days in #105, bottom floor, end unit. It was just my husband and myself. The unit was gorgeous, clean, huge. On the TA snapshot of Puunoa amenities it says "kitchenette". Unit 105 has a large, full, well appointed kitchen. Full size oven, large drawer refrigerator, dishwasher, 3 coffee pots! The bed and linens were comfy. A lovely place. This is why I say it's not for everyone. PBE sits on Baby Beach which is very calm and shallow. Consequently it's always full of small (read "noisy") kids, and it gets quite busy even in January. There is a rental house next door (maybe 12 ft away?) and while we were there there was a family in it that spend a fair amount of time screaming at their toddler, and him screaming back. Maybe this would not have been an issue if we weren't in the end unit closest to them. Also there is something under construction directly behind the next door rental. It's covered with tar paper so you can't see what it is but we were woken more than once by saws, hammers etc. Also maybe not an issue if you're not in the end unit. There was another issue while we were there that was a little disconcerting. As soon as the sun set (gorgeously BTW) and Baby Beach was mostly deserted, the homeless would move in. Sometimes setting up tents, hammocks, etc. One night they started a campfire and nearly smoked us out. They were mostly considerate, tho, not too noisy. We couldn't really see them from the bottom unit because of the hedge between us and the beach, but I imagine those in 2nd or 3rd floor units got a better view. My husband would see them every morning when he went for his early walk, asleep on the beach. We never felt unsafe, though. There is a gate between our condos and the beach too. I really hate saying anything bad about PBE. Despite all this, we had a great stay. If we still had small kids it would be a great place to visit, but right now especially with the construction, I would not rent an end unit. And, unless we bring our grandkids to Maui, we would not stay at PBE again.…
We left a review last year and stayed in this unit again this year (and we've already booked it for next year). Some points are worth repeating: > The location is perfect, within walking distance of Lahaina and Mala Pier > Sits on Baby Beach - great proximity, but the landscaping ensure privacy > The owner is a pleasure to do business with > The decor is top end > The ocean view is fabulous - whale watching from the lanai > The master bedroom is huge > Central air conditioning with a separate master bedroom control > Everything you need in the kitchen This is simply an outstanding place to stay.
Amazing, wonderful, top notch - the condo, beach, sunsets (felt like your own personal sunset every evening), pool, grills were all wonderful, clean, excellent condition. The rooms were beautifully appointed, large, full amenities, beach chairs, umbrella and towels included (total bonus), laundry (detergent total bonus). Amazing stars at night. Loved sharing baby beach with local families - plenty of shady spots - snorkeling - shopping close by. Do not even think twice about staying here - the large resorts were crowded, cramped, chaotic and everyone seemed grouchy fighting for a beach/pool chair. Totally chill relaxed vibe here. Grilled by the ocean every night. True family vacation. Pictures posted of resort are spot on. 5 stars all around.
We had a fantastic experience at these condos. Stayed for a week in June. Our condo was beautiful, close to the beach, well-kept, and serviced by the wonderful Violet every day. Beach chairs and boogie boards provided. Nice pool although the workout room near the pool is a little lacking. That's probably my only complaint. Grills by the pool worked well and we used them often. Kids played in the yard that fronts the beach. Great location. Easy walk into Lahaina. On-site management was extremely helpful and friendly. The beach is public, which another reviewer didn't like. But, fortunately, almost all beaches throughout Hawaii are open to the public. Really hope we can go back someday.
We just spent two weeks in Puunoa Beach Estates #103 and highly recommend this property and this unit. The condo is well appointed & maintained and is very tastefully decorated. Everything about it is top-end. We had our own parking spot right outside the front door. The master bedroom is huge with a luxury bathroom suite and walk-in closet. The bedroom’s glass front is framed by landscaping that maintains a comfortable level of privacy while still allowing a great ocean view. The air conditioning has a separate control from the central air in the rest of the condo. The second bedroom with a mountain view can act as a second master. Glass windows and sliding doors extend across the entire front of the living and dining areas, with shades that open completely to expose the full ocean view. The lanai spans the length of the condo, with an outdoor dining area at one end where we spent our mornings watching for whales. The modern kitchen had everything we needed. The location is ideal, within easy walking distance of Lahaina in one direction and Mala Wharf in the other. It sits on Baby Beach which is great for swimming and snorkeling. The front hedges isolate the property from the other beachgoers so we didn’t even see them from the lanai. Each evening, we watched the sun set over the island of Lanai. We’ve stayed at a number of condo resorts in Wailea & Lahaina, including Elua, Makena Surf, Polo Beach and Puamana. This property and location ranks with the best, and this unit is the nicest we’ve found.…
Puunoa Beach Estates is a hidden piece of heaven! The check in was easy and the unit we stayed in was gorgeous!! Very well kept up and it looked brand new! And to top it off, the beach is your backyard - literally a few steps from the most gorgeous beach. It was also nice to be away from the loud and busy hotel scene where you have to carry all of your beach stuff at least 10-15 minutes down to the beach, in crowds of people (Kaanapali area). But Puunoa Beach Estates had it all! We were with our young kids so we could enjoy the beautiful patio while they napped inside in the condo. The pool was only 20 steps away and had toys for the kids to play with. Then there's Front Street in Lahaina that has all of the restaurants and shopping and is only a 5-10 minute walk! Literally heaven! And perfect for every age! We can't wait to go back next year!! It was worth every penny!…
