The Napili Kai Beach Resort is the most beautiful property I've ever been to. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, the room was spacious and well appointed, and the views were to die for. The beach is perfect for families and the snorkeling was absolutely amazing. We saw hundreds of tropical fish and beautiful coral just yards from the beach. My family enjoyed the awesome breakfast each morning at the Sea House restaurant and had an amazing dinner there as well. The views, beautifully kept grounds, large pool, and great location all made for a perfect 5-night stay there. It was luxurious, yet low-key. I can't imagine there being a nicer property in Maui (or really anywhere else in Hawaii). Perfect stay! My family can't wait to go back some day!

I have stayed here over 15 times since the 1980s. My kids grew up vacationing here. Since they're adulting now, I hadn't been back for many years, so it was about time I got back. I just stayed 11 nights and still did not want to leave! This Resort has an authentic Hawaiian feel to it. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and everywhere I went I was greeted with an "Aloha" and a smile from the gardeners to the hotel desk staff. I would like to say that I am NOT a Caucasian, and never once felt discriminated against! I really feel I had to mention this, to counter that review. If I ever felt discriminated against, I would never have visited as many times as I have!! As for the rooms, I stayed in a garden unit in the Keaka 4 building, this last visit, which are newer than the Ocean view rooms over the lobby. Yes, some of the rooms are older in the Aloha Building ( which is where the other reviewer who called it horrible stayed) I have stayed in them, BUT they are Very Clean and not anything near being Horrible!! I have stayed in several different types of rooms at the hotel in the many times I've stayed there and would never hesitate to stay inany one of them. If you're expecting something like the Big Brand hotels, this may not be for you. This is for those who want a true Hawaiian experience with wonderful staff, personal service, and one of the best beaches on the island. The Sea House Restaurant is one of the best on Maui. I have already booked my return stay for May. I won't let years pass without me visiting again. It reminded me of how much I love it here, and how relaxed and at Peace I am when I'm at my Happy Place. Please don't let those other reviews poison your mind against this gem of a hotel.

First I’ll start with what my husband and I liked about this resort. Nice beach, neat sunset and good location. Many of the staff however were disgruntled and unwelcoming for the most part. But the icing on the cake was during our check out when a local staff member didn’t even bother to ask how our week long stay or experience at the resort was. However he made sure to ask a Caucasian guest checking out right ahead of us how her stay was and he went out of his way to recommend photo opp spots at the property to her. Clearly this sort of discriminating and differentiating treatment did not sit well with us. Hope the Management takes a serious look at this unsavory behavior from their staff. This is not a hotel we are inclined to come back to on a future visit unless action is taken.

Great location, right on the beach. Went snorkeling right off the beach and saw sea turtles and dolphins were swimming right with us. Rooms are good - spacious and comfortable. Nice having a kitchen to cook food since eating out is very expensive in Hawaii.

They put me in a terrible room and then refused to move me. So I found a better resort and moved out! The room was very dated and felt dirty. Also, it was over the main entrance so noisy with people coming and going. In addition the room was behind the restaurant so I listened to dishes and silverware clattering from the back if the restaurant. To get to my room, I had to pass through a service area with stacks of extra chairs, hoses and, worst of all, a rat bait box. It felt like I was watching a play from backstage (or in the alley) . The shower water pressure was so restricted that the shower was more of a trickle. The last straw was the horrible mattress - so old that you would basically roll into the large body indentation. I hardly slept those 2 nights and had incredible back and hip pain due to the horrible bed. And the worst part if it all is that the hotel staff had ZERO interest in helping to make my first visit to Maui in over 15 years a relaxing pleasurable experience.
