My husband and I looked for a private sunset dinner on Maui for our family of 16 and found the Na Hoku dinner here. I can’t say enough good things about the entire experience. Noe and Aman were both so helpful and pleasant during the planning and when we arrived for dinner. The setting was so elegant on the grass with white table linens and tiki torches. The servers during dinner were so friendly and accommodated any special requests we had. The food was spectacular!! It was a 5 course dinner (each guest chooses their items prior to) with wine pairings at each course. The sommelier explained each wine he served. The 2 chefs came to our table when each course was served to talk about what they prepared. Everyone raved about their dishes. It was an amazing experience and the perfect celebration wit our family. A night we’ll never forget. Worth every penny!!

Incredible resort. Truly feels like you are in authentic Hawaii. We stayed at two places before coming here and I wish we had stayed here the entire time. great rooms- clean, large, amazing views from balcony. friendly and helpful staff. they don't charge for parking or resort fees! chairs for beach and pool are included. the bay itself is fun and active. the on-site restaurant Sea House has great staff as well and good food with stunning sunset dinner views and live music. I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. perfect location.

We have been coming here for years. My parents honeymooned here in 1971. It was a great trip with 3 generations! The only con for us was we were put at Puna Point and my dad walks with a cane, so he had to call for the golf cart tram to go to the beach/pool area and back. The one thing I did notice was that at night the pathways were still a bit dark, even for me. We utilized the Maui Bus to get to Lahaina and back since rental cars were hard to come by. Also, getting groceries was a challenge also, but we finally had success with InstaCart. Both of these aren't on the resort, but just a general awareness right now due to coming out of Covid restrictions.

We loved Napili Kai! Their customer service was superb. We had made reservations almost a year ago but had to cancel when we got Covid. They were so accomodating and even gave us the same promotional rate that was offered at that time. Our room ocean view was lovely. Clean, nicely decorated, lots of storage space (important because we were there for a week and didn't want to live out of a suitcase;) plus the kitchen was a nice feature & we used it often. We enjoyed the covered veranda, & kept our doors open every night and fell asleep listening to the surf and woke every morning by the nearby roosters. It was heaven. Napili cove is very scenic and we enjoyed watching the kids play in the surf adults enjoying all types of water toys. Even saw whales one morning The on site restaurant The Sea House is very good. Very busy due to Covid restrictions so we were only able to dine in 1 night but they also offer take out so we enjoyed our meals on our veranda. The spa was small but offered a great hot stone massage and even discount for resort guests. The resort has 3 pools so you always find a lounge chair; and 2 of them were not busy so you could enjoy peace and quiet. 5 stars to the wonderful staff & grounds keepers at Napali Kai. We can't wait to return and will definitely stay here again. So much more enjoyable than a 500 room mega resort. We highly recommend Napili Kai Beach Resort

We've never stayed this far up on Maui. In fact we usually have been down south in Wailea. We chose the Napili Kai as we have friends who stay in the Napili area and they just love it. We absolutely LOVED this hotel! Almost all the rooms I believe are equipped with kitchens but they still receive daily maid service - its the best of both worlds! Our check-in felt a little clunky and took over 30 minutes. They didn't have a QR code reader to see our Covid negative test results so we had to get my husbands lap top from the car, find our passwords to log in, etc. It took way longer than it needed to. And after a long travel day we were ready to get to our room. We were placed in Keaka building #1...room 105. At first I was worried about being in a ground floor room...that it would feel dark but it was fantastic! Our room was HUGE! And we actually had a beautiful view of the sunset from our lanai. I didn't think it would be so great since we were set so far back but it was awesome! Looking out onto the putting green was actually super pretty and peaceful. Our kitchen was totally stocked with all the cooking essentials. One thing you may want to bring is a small stash of salt and pepper and a few zip-lock baggies. The bathroom was also really generous in size with a separate potty closet. Many reviews talked about the bed being super comfortable. Ours was not. Felt like a new mattress is in order in Room 105. The sheets were also pretty low quality and could use an update. Other than that, we felt like the room was really nice. They even had a soft-sided cooler we could use during our stay. The property was beautiful and felt spacious but not too spread out. We never got tired of seeing the different varieties of orchids and hibiscus flowers. You can tell the groundskeepers take great pride in keeping everything looking so good! We loved the location so much! Near the Kapalua Walking Trail and other restaurants. The main pool was a nice size and there always seemed to be enough chairs. The weekend felt a bit crowded with the influx of locals who knew people staying on property but otherwise we always found a spot to sit. There's a nice grass area between the pool and the beach that we loved to set up at. It felt like the best of both worlds...near the pool, shower, snack bar and also the beach and ocean were steps away for a quick dip. The towels they provided were also really nice. The Makai Hale - the snack bar and activities center (where you get your towels, check out golf putters, get snacks, etc.) gets a mixed review. Some days it was great with service, other days, terrible. You'd wait for a long time to be helped and when you were, the guys barely spoke to you or said "thanks for waiting" etc. Most of the staff didn't seem too happy to be working to be honest. A smile and greeting goes a long way. The only thing we ordered from the snack bar was a couple of coffee drinks. They weren't too good and the customer service (after waiting 10 minutes for someone to show up to help) was pretty bad. I feel like the Snack Bar could be so much better and be a really neat place with some revisions. The Sea House restaurant was fantastic too. I'll do a specific review for that later but overall, we loved the convenience of it. We ate breakfast and dinner here once and lunch a few times. We also really appreciated that they gave preference to us as guests staying on the property. When we dropped in for lunch, if we were a Napili Kai guest, we got seated quicker. If someone who wasn't staying on property showed up they maybe wouldn't be able to get in depending on how busy it was. One thing to note: We were given complimentary Mai Tai coupons upon check in. Very nice! My husband is allergic to nuts and the drink contains almond syrup. When we asked to trade my husband's for something different, we were told no. We asked someone else on another day, again explaining he had an allergy. Again, no. This to me is so ticky-tacky and just dumb. If the spirit is to make your guests feel welcome, then be a bit flexible. I understand that as a general policy, the free drink is what it is, but the staff should be trained to be flexible when it comes to an allergy. The welcoming intent of this sure didn't feel very welcoming and hospitable...which I would imagine is it's intent! Overall, the resort feels like old Hawaii with the lush grounds and the strong family feel (Ohana!). We met several couples and families who had been coming for years and years. They knew the staff and some of their kids had grown up coming there. Lot's of families but it was also great as a couple. We weren't bothered by the kids running around. It feels like a special place that we really, really hope to return to soon. Overall, we truly loved our experience here!
