What a beautiful place to stay! We walked in our first day and the grounds were pristinely manicured. True island beauty with plants, flowers and cleanliness! Every room had some type of view of the ocean, what a treat! Staff was friendly and helpful with any and all of our questions. Rooms have lots of room! They are clean and well maintained. Offering extras such as beach towels, a portable cooler, and environmental friendly shopping bags. This is for sure at the top of my list of places to stay in Maui, we had a lovely time!
After scouting this place 6 years ago got to finally make it back post-COVID and experience the incomparable ambiance of a more classic Hawaiian resort -- and was NOT disappointed. The landscaping is fantastic. The staff's dedication shows consistently in the many details of the rooms, facilities and gardens. Not only do you have Napili Bay beach, but just a few dozen yards away is the popular Kapalua Beach, which stands out on its own. If you want a quiet place to take in your thoughts and the ocean sounds and views, there's no resort more serene while maintaining a smaller crowd (if any) theme. This was our 4th trip to Maui and unless you want to spend big and stay in Wailea, we have not run across a more ideal resort.
Napili Kai is a beautiful, peaceful, and welcoming resort. We enjoyed our stay so very much. Our room was really nice and the views were outstanding. The staff were all great. The restaurant was excellent. The beach at the resort was amazing with reefs, tide pools, turtles, and lots of pleasant sea life.
We spent a week here on holiday, with our two young children. The room/apartment was fantastic. We were very impressed with the size and quality, it was exactly what we needed for a family. The bathroom was huge, we had a small kitchen with everything you needed if you did want to self-cater. The main room had a very large, very comfy bed and our kids slept on individual sofa chairs which were very good quality. We had a lovely, large balcony which overlooked the pool and you could see the beach from a distance. The room had tasteful decor and felt very clean. We only used the main pool with our kids. They loved it and would hop between the hot tub and pool. Amenities were good as the snack bar was next to the pool, toilets were close by at the restaurant and the beach was the other side of the hedge! It did feel a little 'tired' in areas e.g. pool furniture, and the snack shop but it was clean and well maintained. It would be nice if there were more sun loungers or chairs for the beach available. The beach was AMAZING. Beautiful, clean, calmer waves than others in the area.....turtles! There is a beach restaurant that was very busy/popular. We ate there once for dinner and once for breakfast. It was nice, but not much atmosphere and felt very busy and rushed. It's also pretty pricey. The location and view makes the place. It would be lovely to have a different bar area, or one that has better views of the beach where you could easily sit for a drink without having to sit inside the restaurant. A word of warning, the local supermarket is extortionate! Buy all supplies before you reach Napili. There are some local restaurants which were fantastic at the small plaza; Fond and Joe's Kitchen are well worth a visit for evening meals at a reasonable price. Also a couple of cute coffee shops for brekkie. It is quite a drive to reach other parts of the island e.g. road to Hana or the harbour for boat trips, but it's a nice scenic drive. It's worth staying at this hotel for the days when you aren't exploring elsewhere as it's beautiful. I would highly recommend this hotel for families and if we are ever fortunate to return to Hawaii we would be booking here again.…
We stayed three nights. This is not a happening resort, but a relaxed, low key wonderful place on beautiful Napili Bay. We stayed in a Beachfront room, room 2 and it was the perfect size for myself, my 12 year old daughter, and 15 year old son. We had dinner one night at the onsight restaurant and the food was pretty good (my son did not like his burger). There are not many beach chairs. I really appreciated the feel of this place and the area. If you are looking for a lively hotel with lots of activities, this is not the place. We split our trip between Napili Kai and a large resort to get the best of both worlds. I would stay here again.
We stayed here for 4 nights in April as part of a Costco vacation package booked in Jan and we really enjoyed this place. Our room was in the Lani 1 bldg. on the 2nd floor and had great views of Napili Bay which was only about 100 feet away. The place is old school and may need an upgrade or 2 but everything worked fine and the staff and amenities and location were excellent. 20 minutes from Lahaina, 2 minutes from kapalua golf course. There are long drives to Hana and Haleakala but the aren't bad drives with great scenery. We highly recommend this place for a quiet relaxed great Maui vacation.
Our room was #35 in the Honolua wing and was only 35 steps to the beach. Quiet rooms. Great restaurant on site. It appears reservations are needed at least a week ahead for noon and evening. Great breakfast which was on the higher side, but not bad since it affords a fabulous beach view. Some snorkeling. Nice boogie boarding waves on this public, but secluded bay. The location is close to the end of Maui's west shore developments, so not near the traffic as found around Kaanapali and Lahaina. We liked that there were virtually no dogs on the beach and property. Evidently, we're not the only travelers that are not dog people. Family atmosphere during the week of our stay. Not a party place, which is fine for us. Less than 5 minutes to groceries and other local small eateries and a killer coffee place. Another cool feature is a small performance pavilion on site that offers local hula dancing one evening and a great ukulele and traditional music show. The only downside is the awful taxes and fees (17%) tacking on nearly $100/day. We'd love to go back. …
Having stayed elsewhere at Napili Bay I knew the location was incredible, but the hospitality and amenities at Napili Kai really enhanced our experience. I can’t say enough about the kind staff and immaculate grounds. Our son enjoyed a few kids program activities and my wife and I also enjoyed some activities including the horticultural tour. Dreaming of our return to paradise. We will absolutely return. Mahalo Napili Kai!
We had an incredible experience at Napili Kai. The oceanfront rooms are beautiful, with private balconies and expansive views. Clean, beautiful rooms, kind staff, and a great family feel. If you are not a fan of big resorts and want to be in a space that blends into nature BUT offers wonderful amenities, STAY HERE. Mahalo to all at Napili Kai who made our stay so special.
10 nights and we were lucky enough to have an Ocean View Suite directly over the lobby with the most incredible view. This resort has exactly the traditional Hawaiian feel and style we were looking for and I understand why most people say they come back every year. I'm already planning my return trip! First of all the room was perfect with our own very well stocked kitchen, coffee maker, blender etc. Everything was provided for our stay and I really didn't need to pack coffee, tea, shampoo, candles etc. with daily housekeeping. The daily breakfast at the Sea House was included in our package and was gourmet and welcome cocktails were strong! The resort provides beach towels and chairs and there is a rental place in walking distance to rent snorkels, umbrellas, boogie boards etc. Kapalua Bay which is the premier snorkel is a 5 minute walk but we snorkeled daily in Napili Bay and swam with the turtles. Dream vacation!…
