While the resort commands a premium price, potentially leading to some concerns over value, guests consistently laud the impeccably clean rooms and grounds. Want to start this with a huge appreciation to the staff of the Napili Kai beach resort. They were all very kind, friendly, and helpful. They fostered a safe and relaxing experience for me, my wife, and all of the other guests in the resort. Everything was sprayed down and wiped continuously, everyone wore masks, staff stepped aside to keep a 6 feet distance from guests, and there are sanitizing stations everywhere. The resort did not feel overcrowded and everything was well maintained. The pools were exceptionally clean.

The room does not look dated as many reviews suggest. The rooms are well equipped with new appliances and every amenity you could need including candles, disinfecting spray, complimentary wipes, plenty of dishes and pots, umbrella, safe, and a great bathroom set (the shampoo and conditioner are actually great quality and moisturizing). The sliding screen doors in the room are beautiful and charming. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. The decor is a traditional hawaiian theme with paintings of local sites. The pictures don't do justice to this charming and spacious room.

The location of the resort is also fantastic. The bay is beautiful and is a great site for swimming and snorkeling. Plenty of coral reef and fish not too far from shore. There is a local market and a farmers market nearby with front street only 15 mins away. This area feels much more laid back compared to Wailea and Kihei.

In addition to the beautiful grounds, the Sea House restaurant is a great feature. Nestled in between the guest rooms and the beach, the restaurant has a great view of the bay. The food is exceptional with a good range of options. Definitely do dinner and get the poke nachos. The breakfast is amazing, personal favorite was the Honolua breakfast with some coffee.

If it isn't already clear, we would definitely recommend this resort to friends and family! We had a great honeymoon made possible by the meticulous care and attention of Napili Kai Beach Resort staff. Thank you!!

I have stayed a number of places in Hawaii but, this is the place to truly enjoy the best of Maui. There are several buildings all facing the view, some you can literally roll out of bed into the ocean or pool. The room we had in Kaika building was huge and the balcony was big and well furnished.

The beach here is usually calm and great for kids and older folks. The other end of the small bay has more wave action if that's what the kids want. The snorkeling is great here. If you don't see turtles here walk to the bay south of Napili.

The staff is kind and helpful, the grounds are beautiful, the sunsets are amazing and, there are several activities to socialize with staff and guests and family or just hang on the beach. It is a quiet place at night.

A restaurant and a snack shop are on site and outdoors. There is a ABC store with minimal groceries and a deli, and a Grocery store and strip mall all within walking distance. Lahina is a 15 minute drive or 30 minute bus ride away.

During this Pandemic they are wiping down all the pool/beach furniture after every use and all staff wear face coverings. I felt very safe.
Now is the time to come far less people on the beach! Just plan a week in advance of your flight how and where to get your COVID test. It is assuring that everyone on the plane is negative COVID and locals are very respectful of all pandemic precautions.

Our room was #35 in the Honolua wing and was only 35 steps to the beach. Quiet rooms.
Great restaurant on site. It appears reservations are needed at least a week ahead for noon and evening. Great breakfast which was on the higher side, but not bad since it affords a fabulous beach view.
Some snorkeling. Nice boogie boarding waves on this public, but secluded bay. The location is close to the end of Maui's west shore developments, so not near the traffic as found around Kaanapali and Lahaina. We liked that there were virtually no dogs on the beach and property. Evidently, we're not the only travelers that are not dog people. Family atmosphere during the week of our stay. Not a party place, which is fine for us.
Less than 5 minutes to groceries and other local small eateries and a killer coffee place. Another cool feature is a small performance pavilion on site that offers local hula dancing one evening and a great ukulele and traditional music show.
The only downside is the awful taxes and fees (17%) tacking on nearly $100/day. We'd love to go back.

My wife and I have been to Maui many times over the years (since 1988) and always thought it would be nice to stay at Napili Kai on the beach. So for our 50th anniversary, we booked a week thru Costco Travel, March 3-10. We got a great package deal with room, air fare, car, welcome Mai Tai's, and a full daily breakfast for 2 . We booked an ocean view studio which was a huge full ocean view room with a well equipped kitchenette. The grounds were very well maintained and the staff was outstanding. The Sea House restaurant was excellent and the portions were huge. My only complaint is that the Mai Tai's were a little over priced at $14, but that's the way it is at other places also. We had a fabulous stay and would go back again.

This hotel takes the guest back to old Hawaii with one of the most beautiful beachfront settings of any hotel in the world. Guests can enjoy the soft sand, gentle surf and snorkeling at Napili beach, or putt 18 holes on a manicured putting green. The on-premises, beach front restaurant, Sea House is famous throughout West Maui for its great food, killer views & award winning Pupus. The hotel has instituted super safe Covid 19 protocols so you always feel safe. Napili Kai has a multigenerational history of being one of the best resorts in Maui for family reunions or vacations. Many of the units have well stocked kitchens or kitchenettes.

The Napili Kai is a slice of heaven location on the gorgeous Napili Bay. The property is gorgeous. We stayed in Lani 2 in an oceon view studio. The unit is nicely laid out with a full kitchen - full stove with oven, full refrigerator and dishwasher.

The staff greeting us were friendly - the front desk manager has worked here since the early 80s.

There are four pools - one large and three smaller pools. The large pool has a children’s swimming pool and hot tub. There’s a separate adults only hot tub. The snack bar is located near the large pool.

There are a number of activity areas including a puzzle table, putting green, shuffleboard and more.

Chairs are available to take on the beach. Towels are provided.

We enjoyed a happy hour at the Sea house. Honestly the view from our room was so incredible we ended up having cocktails on our patio most evenings.

The room has a number of really thoughtful touches including a reusable grocery bag, a large cooler, and a hanging rack for towels and swimsuits.

The famed Merrimans restaurant is right next door. The Kapalua coastal walking trail can be accessed from the hotel without getting in your car.

We’re planning our next visit.

If you’re looking for a quiet area that screams paradise this place us for you. If your preference is large towering resorts with water slides this isn’t the place for you.

We booked a place in Kihei that was terrible and had to find another up to our standards. When we stumbled on Napili Kai we were blown away! This place makes we want to come back over and over again!

The room was upgraded with a killer view, it’s an older place but was spotless and well equipped. The on-site restaurant was good, the staff was great and you can’t beat the free use of snorkel gear for use in beautiful Napili bay. Mahalo Napili Kai for such a great stay

As Napili Kai was one of the few properties accepting guests willing to quarantine if necessary, we booked one of packages offering 7 nights for the price of 5. We reserved in August, 2020 for January, 2021. Because of all the rules and difficulties in getting vaccinated and waiting for results, we postponed our stay for March. We had to postpone once more, this time in March. We finally managed to make our trip in January, 2022. To our amazement, we were able to book at the same rate. (The same process applied also to Hawaiian Airlines and Hertz.)

We paid the $450 onetime supplement to guarantee our unit. #237 is a one bedroom ocean front suite located in the Puna wing. Like a shotgun house, we could see all the way from one end of the unit, down the corridor, to the very end. Ocean side had the king bed and parking lot side had twin beds. This was great for spreading our bags and storing things.

Checking in was very pleasant with the desk help helping to drive to our unit in order to carry our bags up the stairs. Of course we were immediately impressed by the immediacy of the ocean view and adjacent foliage. A kitchenette guaranteed us a few meals prepared in our unit, while we sampled breakfasts, lunches, and dinners in the legendary Sea House restaurant. Finding our way to various parts of the complex gave us not only exercise but a chance to explore much of the vegetation. We signed up for a floral/grounds tour and were treated to learning about the plants. Each of us got enough clippings to assemble a bouquet.

I need to point out a couple of shortcomings. Maui is experiencing a drought, yet the water pressure inside our unit guaranteed waste. Our lanai, although spacious, had no table for outdoor meals. Two chaise lounges and a chair simply did not allow for the table shown on the resort’s website. I would also recommend that the resort provide shuttle service to the immediate area to eliminate the often congested roads.

But this is a special place with some of the best service in the county. It actually started with the four gracious reservationists and ended with a heartfelt checkout. I hope that the owners of 237 will provide an outdoor table and that grounds crew can work on the water pressure.

We loved Napili Kai! Their customer service was superb. We had made reservations almost a year ago but had to cancel when we got Covid. They were so accomodating and even gave us the same promotional rate that was offered at that time. Our room ocean view was lovely. Clean, nicely decorated, lots of storage space (important because we were there for a week and didn't want to live out of a suitcase;) plus the kitchen was a nice feature & we used it often. We enjoyed the covered veranda, & kept our doors open every night and fell asleep listening to the surf and woke every morning by the nearby roosters. It was heaven. Napili cove is very scenic and we enjoyed watching the kids play in the surf adults enjoying all types of water toys. Even saw whales one morning The on site restaurant The Sea House is very good. Very busy due to Covid restrictions so we were only able to dine in 1 night but they also offer take out so we enjoyed our meals on our veranda. The spa was small but offered a great hot stone massage and even discount for resort guests. The resort has 3 pools so you always find a lounge chair; and 2 of them were not busy so you could enjoy peace and quiet. 5 stars to the wonderful staff & grounds keepers at Napali Kai. We can't wait to return and will definitely stay here again. So much more enjoyable than a 500 room mega resort. We highly recommend Napili Kai Beach Resort

We went to Napili Kai as soon as Hawaii opened back up with negative covid testing. The resort is magical - just a wonderful getaway for me and my family when we needed it most. It felt SO safe - they are very strict on masks, social distancing, and they wipe down everything (like beach chairs, etc. before and after use). The staff was supportive and helpful. We literally can't think of a better vacation. Thank you Napili Kai! We'll definitely be back!

Aloha! Napili Bay is typically a very calm beautiful body of water. The last few weeks we have had some big winter storms so the waves have been active. This is not a common thing for Napili Bay but it does happen during winter storms/swells and at other times of the year when a storm is moving in. The bay is a beautiful sandy bay. There is of course a piece of coral here and there that gets tossed ashore but it is mostly a sand entry. My personal favorite part of the bay is that if you swim out a bit there is a beautiful rocky shelf that is great for snorkeling and honu (turtle) spotting! Our concierge provides beach umbrellas for rent. I hope these answers help. If you have any further, please reach out to the resort for assistance as we would be happy to assist with your travel plans.

Judging by the answers it seems that it depends on when you travel to the Napili Kai hotel. The parking always seemed to be a problem when we were there in April, though I am sure if you are looking at staying at the Napili Kai they would accommodate you at the hotel parking. With regards to the Sea House in April - we only managed to have one meal there as it was FULLY BOOKED and you need to book in advance and that is the same with MERRIMANS next door - not sure at other times of the year. They said they were booked out 2 months in advance, though they would do a take away. I would recommend you check with the SeaHouse and make reservations if you are staying there otherwise you would have to drive to the nearest town.
