Been coming here for years. It's on a great sand beach and the rooms are first rate...especially if you can get one on the lawn next to the pool. Everything here is very expensive, including the room rate, so it was especially insulting that they decided to now add a "resort" fee to their resort. Resort fees was a cheesy invention by Las Vegas casinos to rip off their customers so it's a pity to see once quality properties in far off place like Hawaii adding "resort" fees for using their resorts. Just add the fees to the list price so guests aren't made to feel like fools! What was especially insulting was all the attempts to sell time shares to hotel guests. As if guests would trust a company that does a "Vegas Pickpocket" on them to keep their annual fees transparent. No way I'd buy a timeshare from these guys.

This was the best vacation/resort experience for our family, EVER!! Every single employee you come across greets you and is more than willing to help you with anything !! We unknowingly left a carry-on bag at the resort when we were leaving to the airport. Upon almost arriving at the airport, we received a call from security, Arnold, letting us know we left our bag at the resort. We were just about to turn around to get it but Arnold said he would send a hotel employee to drop off our bag at the airport for us! We were all so relieved and grateful !! Other TOP TIPS : Oceanfront room is a must; all towers are great views! We stayed in the Napall tower, which is the one most north. Pls note this tower is the furthest from the swan court and coffee shop..these are located in the Lahaina tower. We did have to get up at 6am to reserve decent pool chairs but that wasn’t really a problem since we are from CA so I automatically got up between 5-6am anyways. Rental car is a must if you want to go exploring (ie Road to Hana) but not absolutely necessary since Whalers Village is 15 min to walk and has lots of stores (ie ABC store, lots of stores to buy souvenirs, a food court and multiple nice sit down restaurants). Pls note all these sit down restaurants were apx a 1.5 hr wait for our party of 8 (We ate at the MonkeyPod and Lelilani) Another great eating tip…We had 2 swan court buffet incl in our hotel package for our family of 4. We asked for our incl 2 breakfasts To-Go that we were able to load up with enough food to feed all 4 of us with leftovers for later! The Honolulu coffee gets really crowded so it’s best to order ahead on their mobile app to pickup. I cannot speak more highly about this amazing resort !! We loved it !! Mahalo Hyatt Regency !!

We had a great stay at the Hyatt. We were upgraded to an ocean view room and were on the top floor so we ended up having a very nice view that we weren’t expecting. The room was nice, clean, and spacious for our family of 4. We didn’t feel cramped at all and it was great having the balcony. The hotel is big, so there is a fair amount of walking and being on the top floor we couldn’t easily pop back to our room for something quickly. We were in the Napili tower which overlooks the Residence pools so we ended up spending most of our pool time there, as we could easily see from our balcony which chairs were empty/available and the pools were generally less crowded than the main Hyatt pools. The waterslide at the main pool was great, though-fast and fun for my son. We are at Umalu several times which was good and also ate at Lahaina Provision several times which was also good. The beach is great for snorkeling. So many fish to see right in front of our hotel! Self parking was free, but could get crowded and a few times we almost couldn’t find a spot-they are extremely tight. It was fun to see the birds, penguins, and swans around the hotel. The Hawaiian Latte at Honolulu Coffee was delicious!! The bagels and breakfast stuff there was also pretty good. We signed up for the Tour of the Stars astronomy viewing one night and that was really cool. You get to go up to the rooftop and look at the stars through some high powered telescopes. We didn’t do the luau as it wasn’t something that was worth the money to us. You could easily sneak a peek at it from the sidewalk. There were ice machines and filtered water available on every floor. Overall, our stay was very positive. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Myself, husband and son (9) visited this resort at the end of May. We booked with points via Hyatt. At check in, we were told we were given an upgraded view room... our view was absolutely stunning. Thank you Hyatt!! We were on one of the sides overlooking the kids pool and ocean - it was fantastic. Our room wasn't ready at check in and then at 4:30 when it was ready, we were given a credit due to having to wait (we didn't even complain or ask for anything, I thought this was so generous), our gorgeous leis (orchids for the adults, sea shells for our son) and a bottle of bubbles for celebrating our anniversary. The rooms are quite large, with a desk and a small L shape couch. Housecleaning did a beautiful job every day. We had breakfast in the Swan Court the first morning and had wonderful service. We loved this hotel's location. There is a sidewalk next to the ocean you can walk all the way to Black Rock beach and Whalers Village. The beach is very narrow in front of the hotel, but if you walk down the sidewalk toward Whalers Village, it gets wider and you can rent chairs down there if you want to. Elevators were quick. Valet was quick. Every staff person was engaging. Especially when you come back at night through the main entrance, always someone to greet you. As mentioned in other reviews, if you want a pool seat with shade, you need to be at the pool by 6am. Almost all chairs will be gone by 7/7:30. We really enjoyed the food offered at the pool and the drinks. Again, wonderful service. At the beach right in front of the hotel, we saw sea turtles all the time. The one negative I would say is the self parking. The spots are tight and if you don't find one in a row, you'll have to back out of the row b/c there's no through lanes (they are blocked for valet). We ended up valeting every day. Loved this location, loved the staff, the pool is incredible. One of our favorite resorts!
