I have been spending two weeks in a sixth floor unit of Kauhale Makai as a gift to myself for retirement. I don't know what more I could ask for...pool, jacuzzi, ocean views, beach, grills, balconies, concierge, clean, security present. Location is easy access to immediate shopping and roads to other parts of the island. Elevators are always available.

Our friends have stayed here before and booked this condo - 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms in a tastefully furnished place with air con (in our bedroom) but broke the 2nd day in our friends' bedroom. We were gone a lot of the time but it was stuffy (except in our meat locker bedroom) when we returned. Kitchen was terrific as... More

The unit had a musty smell, that to me is somewhat expected being on the ocean. The unit was clean with the exception of needing a new shower curtain due to mold. The pool, hot tub, and barbaques, were cleaned every morning. As far as the beach was concerned you really don't have control over the ocean and how the... More

This is the worst place I have ever stayed in. The rooms were filthy, smelly, & we could not wait to get out of there! Since we were only staying 1 night thank god, we left without talking to anyone as no one was there. There price quote of $115 per night became $301.68. Over priced & nasty!

I've stayed at a few different condominium complexes around Kihei and this has been my least favorite. The beach it's on is so disappointing. It's rocky and full of dead broken coral. I never even got in the water because you can't see the bottom and you'll probably cut up your feet on all the ruble. The only people using... More

We booked our honeymoon plans and thought this would be a good value and we wanted to have a full kitchen. As soon as we arrived, we felt cheated. There was a bait and switch of epic proportions. The room we stayed in "205" was nothing like the pictures it was a smelly, outdated roach motel. We checked in at... More

For us the condo experience was a bit different from the traditional hotel since the room appeared to be organized differently, in the sense that it 'forces' you to feel at home so your things get very easily scattered around lol... it was quiet and the desk staff was very responsive to our requests. The location is excellent because it's... More

Condo is in a great location and very well maintained. We stayed in #629, Larry & Joan Laity are the owners. Great ocean view, close to restaurants. Kihei is a great location to stay while in Maui. It is not in the resort areas (which we did not want to be close to), but close enough to drive to the... More

I stayed in unit 623 and it was perfect. Newly updated and very comfortable and inviting. I loved the unit and the view from the lanai. They provided everything I needed. I had no need to cook, but there are grills by the pool and they seemed to be nicely set up. I thought the pool was too small and... More

It's always a chance you take renting a condo with an individual owner but the management company made it easy to do. This unit was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit and very roomy. The master shower wasn't as big as the other bathroom but useable. Everything was in good working order and clean. The beds were extremely hard and... More
