We stayed 3-02-22 through 03-09-22 at this resort along with two of our friends. The resort is beautiful especially having the beach on the property and just a short walk away from the condos. In the mornings, my wife and I would go out to the beach to have our coffee and watch the whales. The swimming pool area is super nice. There are about five BBQ grills within the pool area, and they were kept clean. The location was excellent. There are places to eat, drink and shop nearby. Very convenient. As for Condo C210, it had issues. I knew something was wrong when the front door opened as I pushed the first number on the keypad. Well, the front door was opened and would not close, much less lock. The door had some old damage that would prevent it from closing all the way, so it was impossible to engage the lock. One of our friends immediately made contact with the Host, Malinee Kruasing. And instead of sending someone out to fix the problem, she began to try and tell us how to make the door work. After telling her over and over that it was not working, she said she would give us a refund and suggested we look for another place to stay. She also told us they were aware of the damage to the door and that getting it replaced was in the works. Well, we were stuck there because we couldn’t leave to go enjoy our vacation, leaving our things unsecured. Eventually she said she would send a repairman. He arrived in the late evening and did a patch work job. By the time he was done, we lost a day of our vacation. I don’t understand why or how C210 was available. I hope this was poor management on the part of Ms. Kruasing and hope it wasn’t the actual owners that were willing to disregard guest safety.

This vacation rental was nearly perfect for our needs. We stayed in B112, a two bedroom/2 bathroom corner unit condo with fully stocked kitchen and washer/dryer in the unit. The kitchen and master bath had been recently (last few years?) renovated. The rest of the place was comfortable with simple furnishings akin to what you might find in a national park hotel room. Not luxurious by any means but perfectly homey. This unit is on the first floor right next to the pool and a big grassy area good for kids to run around or to throw a football back and forth. Although each unit is owned separately, I booked directly with the Luana Kai website. Because each unit is separately owned, your unit and experience may vary greatly. The Luana Kai website has pictures of all the units under their management, which I would say is at least 50%. When you book directly, you pick your specific unit so make sure you check out the pictures and are satisfied with what you see. Other units have contracted with other management companies or are individually managed so you have to find those units and pictures at a different website. The Kihei location is great if you plan on doing the Road to Hana or Haleakala. It really cuts those drives by at least 40 minutes compared to staying in west Maui. Also, Kihei feels like more of a beach town than a resort area. If you prefer that atmosphere, definitely pick Kihei over west maui. The property itself borders an oceanfront county park with huge grassy areas, pickle ball courts, and tennis courts. The park was never crowded and it felt like it was part of the Luana Kai. The sand at the beach was full of coral and rocks so not good to go barefoot and the water was very murky so not really swimmable. But the beach was great for sunsets, long walks and watching kite surfers. The on-site management was friendly and helpful. Note that not all units have AC and the ones that do charge an extra $25 per night. Make sure you know whether your unit has AC or not. B112 did not have AC, but that was not an issue during our January stay. Forgot to mention that the rates were extremely reasonable for Maui. We looked at nearby places and the Luana Kai had better rates. This place was a great value and we highly recommend if you want a condo in beach town environment!

We had booked this with our Agent Fereshteh Tali and her assistant Roshy through VRBO and KVLR. This trip was amazing for our extended family of 23 people. We rented 3 of the Garden Villas over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Pool was close.. Kids had a great time there and on the lawn immediately adjacent to the Condo.. Master bedrooms worked out great for all of the families. Fereshteh and Roshy were very prompt and gave great recommendations for our stay. Absolutely no complaints and excellent service and accomodations.

In the description it states that a/c is available upon request. We arrived in the evening and the condo was 95+ degrees. It was horrible. We called management at the after hours number and kudos for answering! She told us that no a/c was available. However, she sent another employee to speak with us and she was rude and very gruff. She basically said too bad and that she herself couldn't afford a/c so why was I complaining. When I asked what I was going to do about getting ready for my wedding in that heat and she said "I don't wear make up either." I told her that neither excuse was acceptable - she was VERY unprofessional. The next morning we went to Home Depot - wanted to buy a portable a/c, they are only $400 - I was out of luck as it had to have a way to out of the condo. $400 and the owner of the condo can't afford that - insane!!! We bought 5 fans, of which we left in the condo for the next unsuspecting souls. We had to leave all the window and patio door open, all night - the patio door wouldn't lock. The neighbors on either side of condo had access to our condo. We took our chances and left it open anyway. It was a good 85+ during the night- terrible! We also reported bugs in the sofa bed - the woman who was sent to our condo the night we arrived said "I have them in my condo too!" Ridiculous. It was a miserable stay to say the least. Do not stay here no matter what. The only praise I can give is location was decent, beach was close, and the condo was mostly updated. Spend your money somewhere else

I came to Maui for my first time and this is the first time I've stayed at a condo/resort and not a hotel. I wasn't familiar with how towels and toilet paper worked here. I went to the night manager (lady with short red hair) and asked if we could get a new set of towels kindly. She proceeded to tell me "I already gave you 4 towels" in a rude tone. I apologized and let her know it was my first time staying in Hawaii and didn't know. She replied, "Weeeeell, its pretty standard here" in the most condescending voice. I didn't know that I wasn't allowed to ask questions as a new guest? It's not what you say, but HOW you say it. She treated us like we were kids rather than adults. It could have easily been an easy yes/no question or kindly let me know to re-wash the towels. This made me turned-off to ask any other questions from management (besides one younger lady with a nose-ring was very sweet). Besides that, the place was set with all kitchen utensils/pots/pans which was convenient and had a good stay. Provided 2 beach seats and 1 boogie board. Please note they do charge $25 a night for A/C. It was pretty hot with just the ceiling fans.

It's important to start by saying that you won't find an owner more kind than Leslie. No additional qualification - just know that you will work with a truly warm person during your stay. Secondly - it's also worth mentioning that this trip was booked in MAR of 2020 right as the lockdowns in the States were taking effect. We booked it for OCT thinking that the virus would have abated. Despite that - Leslie never wavered; and she never asked for a deposit. She was so gracious that when we arrived that she had arranged the condo in a way that reflected the conversations we'd had over the 6 months; and that's hard to emphasize enough. The condo itself though was clean, and comfortable. It had EVERYTHING you could need for a real vacation; cooking utensils, beach supplies, bath sundries....you name it. Though this may be seen as expected - it was nevertheless graciously received. It is worth noting that most condos do NOT have central HVAC; so you will have a few mounted units in key areas. Though it was a nominal $25 a day fee - it was worth it & then some. Some people may not even need it, to be honest. The location of the property also allows you easy access to a quiet beach, nearby tennis courts, a poolside area with multiple grills (all with tools on hand) & wash stations for sandy feet or snorkeling equipment. More than that though - you are minutes away from grocery stores, shopping & most important: other beaches. If you are into checking out a different beach every day - it's hard to be more centrally located on the island than in Kihei (pronounced 'Key-Hey'). LaHaina, and Napili have nice spots as well - but once you are on West Maui....you are there unless you intend to go East. Being in Kihei allowed us to travel literally around the entire island while we stayed there - and we had a central spot to return to at night after a day of adventures. It's hard to compare given that we arrived literally on the first flight since quarantine restrictions were lifted - and how that might affect routine foot traffic. Regardless as to the increased people during 'normal' times - Luana Kai gives you the location, the price & amenities which you could ask for. It's also worth noting that some of the condos are occupied by permanent residents; so this helps keep the community clean & quiet since there is a vested interest in the property not looking like that place you want to forget about in PCB. It's quiet, and family-friendly. They even have recycle bins! Truly though - if you are thinking about seeing Maui; do it. And if you are debating a place to stay; this should be where you look. Can't thank Leslie, and all the people there for making this so wonderful.

I can't say enough nice things about this resort. The staff was exceptional. We came in late on a Sunday and even though the office was closed and we hadn't yet paid for our rooms, our keys were there and we were able to settle our bill the next morning. The complex is very nice, especially for it's age. We rented 3 condos for us and our two children and their families. All three were great! Two of the three (D204, B112) had been nicely renovated and the third (C110) was dated, but also very nice. All units were impeccably clean, as were the grounds and pool. There is a wonderful BBQ area by the pool that is a favorite gathering place by all. We certainly enjoyed our time at the end of the day catching up with our family while grilling out. Each morning we eased into the day by watching whales from our Lanai, while drinking our morning coffee. All but our last evening we saw the most beautiful sunsets. Kihei is a great town. The resort is within a short walk to many shops and restaurants. This area of Maui is a bit quieter than Lahaina and the Kaanapali area which was exactly what we were looking for. We will most certainly return to Luana Kai! Mahalo. John and Karin Jensen

We lucked out with availability! We stayed in a 2 bed, 2 bath oceanfront and this place is perfect. It has all the amenities you need, plenty of space and is centrally located. Close to everything you need in Kihei and then not too far from other parts of the island, as long as you have transportation. All units seem to be different, as they’re owned privately so if you’re looking for something in particular, inquiring is probably the best bet. Our unit was a bit dated but we had everything we needed- all kitchen amenities, including a blender. Washer and dryer and the closet came stocked with coolers, beach chairs, a vacuum, snorkel fins. The pool area is great for nights you want to take a dip and hot tub. The best part was our lanai. We could see the ocean and the whales. The master bedroom is in the loft and when we cracked the window, the breeze came in and made for the perfect nighttime temp. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean really drove home that we were indeed, staying in paradise. For the price, you cannot beat Luana Kai. Management was very helpful when emailing. We will definitely be back and hopefully staying in the same unit next year.

This is a very nice clean property. The pool area has bbq grills and tables so its very accommodating if you'd like to grill out and eat lunch/dinner pool side. My wife and I liked that we could lay by the pool and then go sit on the beach for a bit. Amazing sunset views from the beach here. NOTE: just be sure to know which unit you are renting. Go online and check the photos so there are no surprises. We had a little issues when we checked in, but the next day moved to an amazing unit D204. 2 bed 2 bath ocean front. The manager Leslie was very helpful and we would definitely stay here again.

Awesome. Great place with absolutely beautiful sunsets. We rented a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom fully equipped condo facing the ocean. Stunning. It’s my first time in Maui and my only regret was not coming here sooner. Perfectly located. Not too busy. All stores only a few minutes away.
