We've done the Road to Hana before and knowing how tiring it can be, my husband and I decided to spend some time in Hana relaxing before hitting the road to come home. We stayed in the smaller guest house and it was just perfect. The owners have taken the idea of a peaceful Hawaiian retreat and totally nailed it!... More

Driving the Hana Highway up and back in one day takes much of the fascination and joy out of it. It's exciting, a bit harrowing, and full of beautiful views which you miss if you rush it. So, spend a night or two or three as we did in this beautiful cottage. Use the Gypsy App to guide you, take... More

We are a family of 3 and stayed 3 days Jun 13-16 in the 2 bedroom house. The location was terrific and very close to some nice beaches and main attractions. The house had everything we needed including beach chairs and coolers. We made great use of the kitchen and grill. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, oil, vinegar,... More

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. The unit had great old-Hawaiian ambiance but everything was updated and it was clean. It is set on a large grassy lot with views of the ocean (somewhat obscured by power lines). It was stocked with beach gear and cooking gear. The Internet was “flaky” but worked enough for what I... My wife and I stayed at the guest house for 2 nights. Though we have been to Maui multiple times, this was our first trip to Hana, and we were looking for a quiet getaway spot that would give us a feel for this side of the island. We stayed in the small (1 BR) guest house, and it provided... More

Secluded, lavishly landscaped property, lovingly cared for by the landlords. Fresh fruit from the yard will await you wen you arrive. They are happy to act as informal concierges, steering you to the pleasures of Hana, many of which are not obvious. The house came with the best outfitted kitchen I have ever seen, including some condiments as well as... More

If you're reading this review, then you are seriously considering the once in a lifetime "Road to Hana" trip. After 55 miles and approximately 620 turns, you will find that Hana is as laid back as everyone describes it. Finding a place to stay in Hana is actually quite difficult as there aren't that many and most are usually booked... More

This guest house is perfect! Everything you need is there and the morning sunrise is something else. My wife and I took the road to Hana and stayed at this guest house. Very clean and lots of room. Both bedrooms are the same size with the bathroom seperating them. The next morning we continued the rest of the way around... More

What a lovely experience to stay at the guest house Hale Manu. This is the Hawaii we love. I have been to Hana several times, but had never spent the night. We spent 2 nights at Hale Manu and wished we had time to spend more nights. We enjoyed the location of the home, the lush gardens and open, comfortable... More

We couldn't have found a better place for our night in Hana. After a rainy day on the road, the Guest House was a welcome sight. The gentle rain made for great sleeping in the lush surroundings and the Guest House had everything we could have wanted. We fixed a fine meal, listened to Ho'okena on the CD player (I... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We offer two impeccably maintained, fully furnished, ocean view homes in one of Hana’s finest locations. We are directly across from the Maka’alae pasturelands and ocean and also situated within walking distance to world famous Hamoa Beach and Venus Pool. Each home is landscaped for privacy on our approximately two-acre property. We live in a separate home on the property, so you have the security of knowing that your rental is well maintained and though we honor your privacy, we make ourselves available to assist you when needed. Both of our guesthouses have stack washer/dryers, tub and shower combinations (a oversized claw foot tub in Hale Ulu Lulu and a spa tub in Hale Manu) and enjoy the convenience of “on the grid” wi-fi, electricity, free telephone to US/Canada, cable and water. We consistently receive rave reviews on our attention to detail and thoughtfully equipped homes. ... more   less
