We made a reservation here after the place we originally booked had to cancel our reservation. I picked Hale Manu thinking that it would be a little more quiet being farther back from the highway. When we arrived, the house was HOT, even by Hawaiian standards. There were a couple of fans running that were moving air around inside. I moved both of them to the sliding door that goes to the back of the house to pull in outside air and things eventually cooled down. The house is roomy and nicely furnished, although the bedrooms are on the smallish side. The kitchen was nicely equipped and there is a small gas grill on the lanai. It was in slightly scary condition, but it worked fine. I mentioned this to the owner (or whoever it is that answers the email) and was told it was only a year old. Such is Hawaii, I guess. The view from the lanai is nice. There is a road that runs behind and on one side of the house. There are trucks that come up that road, but not all that frequently. The noise didn't bother us, but then again we live close to I-5! YMMV. The only real criticism I have is of the indoor dining table (we mostly ate on the lanai). There's no light over it, and while we were there the closest light in the ceiling fan was burned out. I was told they didn't have any replacements and would have to drive to Kahului to get some. Sounds like a stocking issue. But, they might want to look at adding a light over the table. I would stay here again, but I might try the other house next time.…
Our stay was fantastic. The property was tucked in a corner of the property with beautiful vegetation and a view of the ocean. Everything was clean and the kitchen is well-stocked. There's also plenty to do in and around Hana, and we're glad we stayed three nights. But the Ramaia was the best. I stupidly left behind two sets of snorkel gear we had rented in West Maui earlier in the week and didn't notice until hours of driving the Hana road back. I emailed her, and she found it and got it back to the rental place, so I could get a refund from having to otheriwse buy it all. She rocks.
We loved staying here. We were here for almost a week hiking the areas around and exploring the local beaches with varying color sand. It was a nice change from the busy side of Maui and offers so much beauty. Go for a horse ride too!!
A unique place to restore energy in the middle of a vacation. A self-cooked breakfast on the balcony starts the day, and enjoy the beaches in Hana. It has been a year since me and my wife stayed here, we always remember the good time spent here, loves to watch the video we took at the property.
We absolutely loved our stay in the Hale Ulu Lulu one bedroom cottage! It has everything you need to relax and experience authentic Hawaii. We would love to return. Part of my heart is now in Hana and staying in the home was a big part of the experience! Amber
