Thank you John. The Bamboo Inn is a perfect get-away. 70 yards away from a black beach. sitting on the upper balcony watching and listening to the waves. Paradise! The Bamboo Inn is the 100% opposite to the loud, busy resorts on the west coast of Maui. Wish we had more days to enjoy the calm, beautiful setting.
Oh its so hard to write the perfect review of a place every one says is perfect already -- so I will just add my voice. The duplex Nai'a Suite was ideal for us: parents and two kids 11 and 13. Altho we were not there long enough to use it the kitchen was wonderfully appointed (we did use and appreciate the fresh ground coffee and coffee machine provided in the room) . We watched surfers from our balcony and in the morning walked down the lawn to the black pebble beach. John gave good advice for our onward journey and in sorting out local dining options. The Balinese art, furnishing, and building parts along with Hawaiian sculpture were not lost on us. As they say it was very good value for dollars. Mahalo!
Accommodations in Hana come down to the large and expensive Travassa Resort, or a collection of rooms or bed and breakfasts. The Bamboo Inn offers three rooms with a view of Hana Bay on a quiet residential street on the north side of town. We stayed in the Honu Suite which featured a comfortable bed, separate kitchenette area with small table and chairs, and a deck with whirlpool tub. Only negative was no good place to put our suitcases. Positives included convenient kichenette, great views off the deck, fresh muffins and croissants left in the courtyard each morning, the private whirlpool on the deck, and an outdoor shower tucked against our room. We looked at the Nai’a Suite next door and it was larger but the bedroom was upstairs, not good for my wife to climb. Met the owner one morning and he was very pleasant. On any return trip to Hana, I would definitely consider staying there again.…
We stayed here for three nights and loved it. Such an amazing view watching the sunrise over the ocean from our private balcony. The breakfasts were simple but good quality pastries and great coffee. So glad we spent a few days in Hana, it’s a wonderful place to spend a little extra time.
This is the perfect place to catch your breath and soak Maui in. Our suite was immediately welcoming with the authentic Polynesian furnishings and the lanai overlooking the bay. The property goes right down to the beach and we went to sleep with the sound of the waves. Our jacuzzi was on the lanai and an outdoor private shower on the side. The owner John sets your breakfast basket and juice in the courtyard each morning for you to enjoy there or take to your room or beach. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely return.
