Located at the end of the famous Road to Hana, Travaasa Hana sits on 69 acres along Maui's eastern coast, surrounded by lush, rolling grass fields, palm tree groves and the shores of Kaihalulu Bay. The AAA Four-Diamond experiential destination site, voted "#1 Maui Boutique Hotel and #1 Maui Experiential Retreat" in Hawaii Magazine's 2018 Reader's Choice Awards, takes guests on a joyful journey with distinct offerings—Adventure, Culinary, Culture, Fitness and Spa & Wellness—that define the Travaasa experience, yet engage guests in the spirit of Hawaii. With activities like ukelele and lei making lessons, horseback trail rides, coconut husking, stand-up paddleboarding, outrigger canoe rides, outdoor yoga and traditional throw-net fishing, mo'elolo, or stories, are created as guests harmonize with the healing energy of the island. Spa treatment rooms surround a scenic garden courtyard and hot tub, lending an island tranquility beyond simple pampering and indulgence.

I was planning to camp at the national park, but an emergency forced me to stay in a hotel in Hana. The staff is very nice and accommodating and the grounds are beautiful. But for $500 a night for the cheapest room, one would expect some basic services like air conditioning, updated rooms and breakfast. But the hotel didn't provide any of these. Didn't try the restaurant...I didn't want to spend $60 per person if I could get quality meals from the roadside joints. Overall, stay in this hotel if you're not planning on leaving the grounds so you can take their yoga and ukelele lessons. Otherwise, get an airbnb and save your money.

50s ambience reflected in hot room full of dust and mold in the Garden of Eden. Captive for food which was pedestrian at best, nauseating at worst. Great spa service, beautiful setting service great or bad with no in between. Understand one pool used to be CO,no more, too bad. At this price kids are a nuisance. Understand it was sold while we were there. Thank God. It has world class potential, not now realized.

This was our 3rd trip together to this property. Hana never loses its charm or serenity. This is a place you go to disconnect and unwind. You never want to leave the property or the infinity pool. We stayed in a garden suite. I like the fact they are original buildings and less of trek than the oceanfront bungalows - but to each their own. Spent 3 days on our lanai watching the ocean and getting to know the amazing people that makes this resort so special. It's not always perfect here - but they always try to fix or make right by you. A new feature i appreciated is a text concierge. I peppered them with questions, requests, etc - and they always obliged. Tried the spa for the first time. Whoa - wish I had done that sooner. the Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage took years of

I was recently visiting friends on Maui. My friend surprised me with a lovely overnight stay here at the Travaasa, after an awesome drive along the hana highway. Hotel was lovely, beautiful surroundings. Loved the infinity pool area and jacuzzi. Room was nice. No air con though so it was rather hot. I wasn’t complaining as I was in paradise. Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Maui, driving the road to Hana as it’s a long drive and nice to break it up as an overnight. Plus means you don’t have to rush to drive to avoid driving at night to get back. Very much enjoyed my relaxed stay here. Maui is very beautiful I hope to be back. I was visiting from Scotland.

Beautiful setting with rooms needing anupdate in a big way. Also no air conditioning and it was really warm. The restaurant, Preserve, was really good. They do offer various complimentary and fee classes. We did yoga and spear throwing. They have an air conditioned small gym which was nice.
