We stayed in Ekena in mid-April for 3 nights. We had a hard time driving to Hana with all the curvy and narrow road but when we reached Ekena, it was so worth it! There is no cell reception here but our Garmin worked, it took us right on the gate. The wi fi works. The place is up on... More

Aloha Chona and Paul, A huge mahalo for the lovely review of Sea Breeze at Ekena and your compliments and admiration for Gaylord's woodwork at the Hana Coast Gallery. We enjoyed having you here for the Hana part of your trip and are glad that you found the house and grounds so peaceful and restful. We all need more of... More

If you plan to visit Hana, and you definitely should, don't just do the to-and-fro road to Hana drive in one day. I honestly don't know how people do that. No, you'll want to stay there and savor its lushness, its tranquility, the feeling it gives you that you really have been transported to a different place and time. And... More

Aloha Pier, and mahalo for this wonderful review. You obviously were undaunted by the rain and I am very happy that you enjoyed your time in Hana so much. Ekena was designed to let you experience the outdoors while indoors, so there are lots of glass doors and windows. You can see for miles and the view is always changing!... More

First time staying here...4 nights flew by...booked 7 for next year! We love Hana. We find the people, the pace, the beaches, the papayas and mangoes just the place to unwind from living near San Francisco, which we love too! We found the Jasmine Suite to be perfect! Huge for two people with using one bedroom! Great room is exactly... More

There are two environments on Maui. Th hustle and bustle of the West Side and the regression from the 21st century to the tranquil and laid back life of the East Side. Hana is not for everyone. If you need shopping, night life, traffic congestion (other than the Hana Highway), and an unban lifestyle similar to most tourist destinations, Ekena... More

My sister and I stayed in the 2 bedroom Jasmine suite of this home. The bedrooms are at each end of the unit, separated by an expansive living area so lots of privacy for sleeping. The lanai is huge and has higher up views of the ocean. A very quiet, very restful place to start our Maui vacation. We landed... More

Hi Carol Ann, and I do hope you can make it back to Ekena someday soon. I am so happy that you stayed in Hana this time, rather than a hectic day of driving, with not nearly enough time to explore this magnificent area. Thank you so much for taking the time to give us such a positive review and... More

We were absolutely smitten with this home and property. You won't believe the beauty of this home and it's peaceful surroundings; inside and out. It is spacious, gorgeous, comfortable and very well appointed. The quiet and solitude of the mountain were very healing and spiritual. Rain showers were wonderful and provided Rainbows like none other, the wildlife and flora are... More

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at Jasmine Ekena and absolutely loved it. It was spacious, clean and the view from the back deck / Lanai is AMAZING. We chose Hana as a place to elope and start our honeymoon. Ekena is a lovely, immaculate secluded property. Stunning view and very comfortable. We wouldn't change anything. Hana itself is the perfect getaway- we plan on coming again.

Lovely views, big lanai, bbq, no other visitors unless you want two units. Great hosts. Good kitchen. One or two bedrooms in each unit. Bring groceries from paia health food store. Go to Hamoa beach every day etc so much better than a hotel. Watch the sunrise from the lanai. I've been here three times and will go again.
