Travelers' Choice

Huelo Point Lookout offers a four unique choices - one 2 bedroom/2 bathroom home and 3 cottage style accommodations. We're very much for the alternative, independent type of traveler who loves the freedom of being able to prep his/her own meals and just relax into the island vibe (and saving a little money along the way).

We've been offering our 'aloha' since 1994, and are a legally permitted business (permit # BBPH 0015/2009) (TA-1-5-110-5280-01) so your reservation is always guaranteed to be secure.

This is Maui's north shore - the 'real' Maui, not just the 'hotel' version ... A perfect place to experience 'living' here, rather than just making a flying visit. Maui is gorgeous! Take the time to enjoy it!

We stayed at Haleakala cottage for a quick staycation, and it exceeded our expectations infinitely! This is hands down one of the best b&b’s we have ever stayed at. The lush foliage provided privacy, and created an amazing environment for walks around the property, and a peaceful sit out on our lanai. Sharyn provided us with a beautiful display of local flowers in our cottage, as well as a bottle of wine, some fresh eggs, and fruit! We did a quick walk to the cliffs, that look out to the ocean, and took a dip in the pool. Such a beautiful property, I could not stop saying how amazing it was while we were there! Such a treat to come stay and be greeted with such aloha. We will most definitely be coming back to stay here, and will 100% recommend to any family coming to visit. Mahalo nui Sharyn! ~Karina, Brady, & baby Carter

"Aloha" Karina - tt was a delight to welcome you and your family - our very first guests since closing down March 15th for Covid. We took great pleasure in bringing our sweet cottage back to life, and it was extra special as you are 'kama'aina'! Yes please! Do come back again! And tell all your friends! Blessings to all Sharyn

We stayed in Haleakala Cottage for five nights as a treat to celebrate my 65th birthday. It was love at first site when we saw the beautiful presentation of flowers and a set table. It is a lovely cottage with a fun outdoor shower and a hot tub that was divine. Sharyn and Jeff are extraordinary hosts! The surrounding gardens are so well looked after and give a feeling a being in a sanctuary. Sharyn and Jeff are generous hosts and we always felt well looked after. I feel like I left a piece of my heart there and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. A very unique part of Maui and I feel I left a piece of my heart there.

"Aloha" my dears ... you were one of our VERY last guests before the Covid virus emergency closed the world down - so I'm soooo glad you got in just under the wire to celebrate your wonderful 65th birthday!!! You were our dream guests and now, of course, you'll JUST have to COME BACK and celebrate AGAIN, ok? We look forward to welcoming back all our past guests because, after this, we'll ALL have something to celebrate! Best wishes Sharyn

We stayed at the Lookout House (whole house) for 10 days at the end of February. Our family included two small children (3 and 1.5 year old). We had a ton of space for everyone. The house was very clean, it was very welcoming and little touches everywhere that made our stay very enjoyable. The views are outstanding. The pool is huge and the kids loved it on hot days. The private hot tub was wonderful to enjoy too. The kitchen is well set up with everything you require. You are a bit isolated but Sharyn and Jeff provide you with everything you might need (shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, etc) and answer any question you have within minutes. The beds are comfortable (and there are many of them). Laundry on site, two full bathrooms, child equipment (playpen, high chair, beach toys, etc) makes everything really convenient for families. Just be advised it is about 20-25 minutes to the nearest store, park, beach, etc. The best part is being away from the touristy parts of Maui and you really can experience the true beauty away from it all. We highly recommend Sharyn and Jeff. Fantastic, kind, wonderful people and their beautiful property to stay on and look forward to returning when we come back to Maui!

We came to Maui to celebrate a 40th birthday and stayed in the Star Lookout. We fell in love with this cottage! There were flowers in every room, chilled wine and fresh fruit when we arrived. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The perfect place to reconnect and unwind after long days of site seeing. Sharyn was a wonderful host. She gave us our space but we knew she was available to answer our questions, if needed. We appreciated Sharyn taking a few minutes to stop by and chat with us, before our departure. We would love to stay here again!

We stayed at this place for 4 nights, the week before Christmas. Sharyn was a wonderful host. She was always available on phone to answer any questions we had. And the house itself was sparkling clean, and lot of nice personal touches like fresh fruits and flowers, a bottle of wine etc. We loved two things most of all, open, but still private, shower in the courtyard and skylight roofing in the bedroom. And last but not least, the location is great. Close to lot of things and places, but still secluded and far from all of it.

We LOVE "secluded and far from all of it" my dears - and so glad you do, too! (We also love that skylight over the bed - fabulous star gazing and they're sooooo bright out here, away from city lights. Blessings to you both, and please come back again! :)Sharyn
