Travelers' Choice

Huelo Point Lookout offers a four unique choices - one 2 bedroom/2 bathroom home (it's possible to rent just the top floor, Ocean Lookout, if you don't need all that space to rattle around in) and you also have your choice of 3 unique cottage style accommodations. We're very much for the alternative, independent type of traveler who loves the freedom of being able to prep his/her own meals and just relax into the island vibe (and saving a little money along the way).

We've been offering our 'aloha' since 1994, and are a legally permitted business (permit # BBPH 0015/2009) (TA-1-5-110-5280-01) so your reservation is always guaranteed to be secure.

This is Maui's north shore - the 'real' Maui, not just the 'hotel' version ... A perfect place to experience 'living' here, rather than just making a flying visit. Maui is gorgeous! Take the time to enjoy it!

What a gem! This beautiful location has been meticulously built and created in such a harmonious way that blends perfectly with the natural surroundings within and outside its premises. The views, THE VIEWS!!! Nothing can prepare you for such magnificence. The location is BEYOND magical, with vivid and vibrant 180+ degrees of splendour!!! Its host Sharyn was ALWAYS responsive, honestly and pristinely friendly; you can quickly tell she loves and enjoys to share the rejuvenating power this place has to offer. She automatically brought a level of comfort to my stay that blended beautifully with the cozy and tropical decoration inside and outside the lookout. Just so much gorgeousness all over! This is the place to encounter nature, serenity, and the greatest of positive island vibes. Perhaps with your loved ones, or simply with/by yourself, as I did. Honestly, this became a "medicinal" experience to my whole being... and I'll be ready for more. Mahalo.

Property's Favorite Review
After spending a few days on the south shore snorkeling for the "beach half" of our vacation, my wife and I stayed here for four nights for the "jungle half." It was incredible! It can be easy to feel like a clueless tourist on Maui (because, face it, you probably are!) but this quiet, peaceful corner allows you to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the prime tourist destinations - while still being minutes away from them! The place is a couple miles into the Road to Hana, so we felt especially smug about getting a head start on our Hana day trip to beat the heaviest of tourist traffic, and the drive back from Hana was much shorter than it would've been had we stayed elsewhere on the island, so that was a major perk! We also loved just relaxing in the private hot tub under the night sky (great stargazing), laying by the pool, and checking in on the chickens. Everything felt very private. Sharyn was extremely welcoming. This B&B is clearly very loved.

And we LOVED hosting you guys - total sweethearts! You pinpointed beautifully all the reasons we've chosen to be here 30 years now - so glad you love our location. For us, it's always been that ideal combination of having that 'away-from-it'all' feel but without actually BEING too far from the conveniences! We like to call it 'the real Maui' and consider ourselves blessed to be here. Come back again, ok? :)Sharyn & Jeff

Huelo Lookout Point is a little slice of heaven! Nestled in the North country jungle, this private house with your own hot tub and ocean views is perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary! The warmth and hospitality of the owners and staff is excellent and every item you need is there at your disposal. You are welcomed with the space adorned with flowers and they set you up with the basics like coffee, bread, and eggs in case you came in late… we have been here twice and each time it’s been a treasure of an experience! This location would also work for a family reunion because there are different accommodations all over this gorgeous property!

Huelo Lookout has a lot to offer if you are looking for an off the beaten path, beautiful Hawaiian stay. Situated off the lower north eastern shore, we were greeted with a beautiful welcome package from Sharyn, the home adorned with flowers inviting us into every space of Rainbow lookout. We utilized every aspect of the property from the sea cliff walk, the impeccably clean hot tub, to the very refreshing pool after a long day hiking. The bathroom and outdoor shower are absolutely beautiful, no detail left out. Say hi to the chix at least once, they were very friendly and gave us a taste of home while we stayed on Maui. No need to leave if you are looking to just indulge the senses and enjoy the local life of a Hawaiian, it was wonderfully quiet, and we felt we had the entire place to our own. We will absolutely be coming back again, a true diamond in the hills! Thank you so much for what you’ve created Sharyn and Jeff.

We LOVED having you two very special people here to stay with us! So glad you relaxed into the local easy jungle (North Shore) vibe which is so different from the more 'touristy' parts of our beautiful island. Do come back again!!! :):):) Sharyn & all our lovely staff

We can't gush enough about this "hidden" oasis - it really is a bit of heaven. If you want to feel like the most spoiled last people on Earth, this is the place for you. Accommodations were homey and comfy (the dining room table which sitting at has you looking out over the ocean is itself a work of art!), facilities fantastic (more below on those), and hosts very warm and welcoming. Kiddo loved the pool, and the hot tub; Mr and Mrs have to agree with her. Access to some beach gear was a bonus for folks who travel light. We were fortunate to stay in the Ocean Lookout which is worth the extra money for the space and the stunning views. We encourage you to take the short walk to the cliff’s end to better appreciate the wonderful environs from which Sharyn and Jeff have created a truly special place to stay.

Sharyn is a one of a kind hostess, very communicative, warm and welcoming. We were greeted with flowers artfully strewn throughout the house, a basket of fresh fruit, bottle of wine, chocolate macadamia nuts and even eggs, bread and coffee for breakfast. We were quite touched by the beautiful welcome. The top floor allows breathtaking 180 degree views of the ocean, palm trees, flowers and lush greenery. Sunrise here is a wonderful experience. It’s a great way to start your day. A big plus for this location is it’s only 10-15 minutes from the Twin Falls on the Hana Highway. It’s your first major stop on that journey. This is a big asset at the end of a long day when you get to go home while everyone else has to continue driving exhausted to the other side of Maui. I highly recommend this house.

It’s hard to even put into words how spectacular Huelo Point Lookout is. The pics and videos definitely can’t capture the true beauty and feeling of the property. We loved having all the windows open to the amazing breeze. We loved the beautiful flowers and thoughtful gifts that were there for our arrival. We stayed at the Rainbow cottage and it was really breathtaking to watch the sun rise from our windows every morning and we also saw rainbows everyday! We really enjoyed walking the property full of gorgeous flowers and fruit trees, feeding the chickens, walking to the cliff for sunset and the pool and hot tub! Sharyn and Jeff have a piece of paradise here and we feel so lucky we found it! We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to Maui. It was the perfect location to everything you want to see in the area and yet private and peaceful away from tourists. Thank you so much for everything Sharyn and Jeff! 🌈🌈🌈🌺

What a lovely lovely review, Jessica & Geoff! Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo! It was such fun to host you and your sweet family! So glad you loved being here and yes, we agree! We love our 'paradise' and really enjoy sharing it with others. Especially in these crazy times, when finding an 'oasis' for a few days is both nurturing and NECESSARY, right??? :):):) Sharyn

This was a stunning experience for our family in the Lookout house. We left feeling transformed by the beauty, the ocean views, the tranquil quiet... and the many many thoughtful touches by host Sharyn including gorgeous flowers all over the home, breakfast in the fridge after a late night arrival. Sharyn makes you feel so welcome, like coming home to an old friend, available for every need yet giving you space to just be. The ocean views from the lookout house are heavenly... we gazed upon sun rises, watched nourishing rain showers, and smiled upon multiple rainbows every day from the deck. The pool while shared was beautiful and private, we never saw another guest upon our stay. We enjoyed the private hot tub, the grill and outdoor deck for dinners. The home was colorful, thoughtful, the beds were extremely comfortable. We were able to enjoy walks and yoga in the front, a snooze in the hammock. The flowers and lushness of the property were incredibly lovely. The location was excellent for all of our upcountry adventures and hopping on the road to Hana upon our departure. I have traveled to many places and my boys watched me actually tear up leaving this sacred place. It is extremely special, you really do not want to be anywhere else.

Bless you and your lovely family, Kellee! I think your visit was especially meaningful to us all because it was one of the first to be impacted by Covid almost 2 years (?) ago! It was a delight to prepare the house and make it special for you, and we were sad to see you leave. BUT ... you know that just means you have to come back again, right? Thank you all for being such wonderful, positive and life-affirming guests! Big hugs Sharyn
