My family and I had a wonderful family vacation in Lanai. The trip started with a seasonal complimentary Lana'i Air transfer from Honolulu airport. Besides the roller coaster plane ride due to really windy conditions, the airport transfer was very nice and everything was taken cared of from the luggage to boarding. We were the only passengers on the flight to Lana'i so it felt quite special. Upon landing in Lana'i, we were picked up and transported via a Tesla to the hotel which was a good 30 minutes ride through Lana'i City to the seaside resort at Four Seasons Manele Bay. The hotel is plain gorgeous with wood trimming all around. Upon entrance, the hotel just gives you a very relaxing and luxurious feel walking through the lobby and in walking between buildings. Everything from the hotel room to the restaurants including the excellent service all around was as expected from this hotel chain. The staff are always very friendly and very welcoming. The hotel room was elegantly decorated with wood trimmings everywhere. The bathroom was very nice as well with a good size tub and shower. The toilets are quite an experience here as it's an automatic bidet with controls and all (I really got spoiled). We experienced the same at the Four Seasons in Ko Olina, though this one had more bells and whistles. It literally lights up and opens up whenever it senses you're around. We had to close the toilet room door just so the bidet doesn't all of a sudden wake-up when you walk into the bathroom. The best feature of the bathroom is the in-mirror TV. I loved it so much I want one in my bathroom as well hahaha! The only thing that I would do differently next time we stay at his hotel again is to ask for a higher floor room for the same price range. Having a ground floor room was nice as you don't have to contend with walking up/down the stairs. However, the hotel grounds are kept very well which effectively meant there's hotel staff watering the plants just outside your room in the morning which puts a damper on your privacy and peace and quiet if you're outside relaxing in the lanai. The restaurants at the hotel were enough in number and variety of offerings that there was no need to leave the hotel for dining needs. Malibu Farm was always very fresh and offered very good options for poolside dining. Nobu was just excellent - the sushi is very fresh and the innovative dishes were craving-worthy. You cannot just go once to dine at this restaurant. One Forty happened to be the favorite choice for my family as it offered more meal options for my son who was only 11 years old. We dined here quite a bit for breakfast and dinner. We also ordered room service on some days as we just wanted some quiet time to ourselves without the hassle of dressing up for dinner :-) The grounds of the hotel all around is plain gorgeous and relaxing. The family pool area had a couple of jacuzzis nearby which was really nice. The hotel also houses several rescue birds on the property and my son had the pleasure of hosting a couple of them on his arms one day when they visited the pool area. It was such a treat! This hotel gave a couple of Yeti water bottles for guests to use and keep. They had water filling stations around the hotel which was convenient and useful for keeping hydrated around the premises. The pool area has enough shade around. The family pool area is big enough though not as big and vast like the pools in Hualala'i, but it did not feel crowded at all. There is an adults-only pool just nearby though we did not use this at all. We were happy lounging around by the family pool the whole time. There are hiking trails around the property. I went to the one going towards the cliffs which was beautiful, though I didn't climb high up the cliff area as I am acrophobic. There is a nice sandy beach area just a short 5 mins walk from the hotel grounds. There is apparently beach camping as well as I saw tents up during my short hike to take some photos around. We did a couple of island activities during our stay. The Sunset Cruise was really nice off the Lana'i port. It was a nice evening for a 2-hr catamaran ride along the cliffs of Lana'i. We even saw the tails of probably the last mother & calf Humpback whales during the cruise! We also did archery on the island which turned out to be the most fun activity for the three of us to the point that we did it twice! We've not had archery lessons anywhere in the other islands so this was definitely unique and such an enjoyable activity for us! And on the way to archery, we were pleasantly surprised by a herd of deer who ran across the highway right in front of our shuttle - what a treat to see! The spa here is not the greatest considering it's such a prestigious hotel, but the services were excellent regardless. I had a massage one day and a facial on another. Both times were very luxurious and I felt very pampered. I remember dozing off during the facial :-) The staff were very friendly, polite and respectful all around. The spa's After Sun lotion, which is also available as a bath amenity in the hotel room, is really good! My family and I had such a memorable family vacation at Four Seasons Lanai at Manele Bay that we want to come back again hopefully soon! Due to the pandemic, we had to cancel our June 2020 trip, but this trip more than compensated for that. Just maybe this time, we will take the ferry to experience a boat ride into the island for a change.

Hotel's Favorite
Those were the words our family ( including our children and grandchildren) used to describe our one week stay at the Four Seasons Lanai. There is a reason it was voted #1 Best Hotel in the USA by U.S. News & World Report. The hotel has it all! Gorgeous accommodations, stunning lush landscaping, great service and delicious food. There are so many activities to enjoy including a beautiful beach, two lagoon swimming pools, horseback riding, hiking, biking, Catamaran snorkel trip, Spa, tennis, golf, adventure park and Observatory to see stars and planets. That does not include parrots and koi ponds.(there is a handler that lets you hold the parrots and they give you food to feed the fish). When you land in Honolulu you are greeted and whisked away on Lanai Air charter for a short 20 minute ride to Lanai. This is included in the price of your accommodations. All the transport is so first class. You will feel like royalty! Let me discuss what made it so special. 1. SERVICE- All the staff are so friendly and provide excellent service. They all have the best attitude with big smiles on their faces. 2. ACCOMODATIONS-. The spacious rooms and suites are furnished with stunning décor with the finest linens and bedding. My son said it was the most beautiful hotel room he has ever stayed in.(He has stayed in many 5 star hotels) 3. FOOD-. There are many choices to dine in at the hotel- Nobu, One Forty, The Break and Malibu Farms. My husband and I have been travelling all over the world for the last 40 years, staying in luxury hotels and I can say the food at the Four Seasons Lanai is the absolute best of any hotel we have stayed in. 4. ACTIVITIES - There are so many it would be hard to do all of them in just one week. There is an Adventure Planning team that will book all of them. 5. LANDSCAPING- It is so lush you will feel as you are in a tropical Paradise. It will take your breath away! There are 500 species of varieties of plants, trees and shrubs planted on 12 acres surrounding the hotel. If you see my profile on Trip Advisor I have over 400 reviews of luxury hotels and restaurants and 220,000 readers. When I go on a trip I document all the people in a little notebook who made my stay so special. I am so grateful for their service to me. On arriving at the Lanai airport we were greeted by the delightful Amanda in a luxurious van to take us to the hotel and also showed us to our room and explained everything to us. Breakfast and Dinners at One Forty. This was our favorite restaurant with so many choices and the most magnificent view overlooking the resort and ocean. Thank you to the hostesses- Sharleen, Merrylou and Melody. To our fabulous servers, Juliet, Chaires, Christian, Alex, Norma, Ferlyn, Mairza, Anna Lou, Arnel, Vanessa and Helen. You were all so outstanding in providing us exceptional service for all our meals .To the Restaurant Manager- Chole and Natalie- Manager in Training thank you for running a wonderful restaurant. We were fortunate to have met Amir- the Executive Chef and the Sous Chef- Robin. They both came out to meet us and we were so appreciative of their creative food. We also ate at Nobu where the food is also delicious with stunning views. The food at Malibu Farms is wonderful for lunch. Thank you to Patrick and Nerissa for making the best pina coladas at the Bar there. One night for dinner we went to the other Four Seasons on the island the Four Seasons Sensei and ate at their restaurant. The environment was a magical setting with great food. Thank you to Tibor for your service and Carlos the Assistant Manager. Be sure to go there for dinner one night. To Sean Forte- Director of Food and Beverage who oversees all the food at the hotel. You are so kind, passionate and purely amazing to make sure the hotel that has the BEST food ever. Everything was so delicious and served so beautifully. We loved the macadamia nut pancakes! Thank you Sean for always checking on us to make sure everything was perfect. Our family is forever grateful to you! Four Seasons Lanai is so lucky to have you! The Pool Manager Julia is so lovely in making sure everything runs smoothly including all the wonderful pool attendants. We enjoyed going every day to the beach and ocean. Thank you to the Beach guys- Kanalu, Alex, Jay, Nick, Tuma, Steven and Trevain for providing great service including lounge chairs, umbrellas, cold water, towels and food. At the front desk/reception you will be greeted by the kindest staff to check in, ask questions etc. Thank you to Jennie, Jessie, Britni, and Eddie. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Mark Oriol the Resort Assistant Manager who has the biggest smile and was beyond amazing to our family. You are the best example of all the standards Four Seasons Hotels expect from their employees. If you were next to me now- I would give you a Big Hug! At the Lanai Adventure desk- Linaka and Lilu’u were so delightful and patient in helping plan all our adventures. Do not miss the Snorkel trip on the gorgeous catamaran. That was a fabulous 3 hour excursion. All the shuttles to take you to any activity is complimentary. The bell desk, including Randall, Dacyn, Tyana and Perry provided great service. We had fabulous hot stone massages at the Spa. The best we ever had!. Thank you to Lindsey the Spa Manager and to our massage therapists - Tomomi and Susana. Book your treatments in advance of your stay as it is very busy and fills up fast. It was also a pleasure to meet Avi the Resort Manager and Moshe- Director of Rooms. I saved the best for last! A resort hotel that is so magnificent does not just happen. The person behind making Four Seasons Lanai such an amazing hotel is the General Manager- Alastair McAlpine. He is engaging, always present and has a good sense of humor. We loved talking to him! He is absolutely FANTASTIC! He is such a dedicated and passionate General Manager. You are the epitome of what a General Manger should be. Thank you Alastair for allowing our family to have the most amazing week at your hotel. We will have everlasting memories and we can’t wait to come back! It just puts the biggest smile on my face thinking about our vacation at the Four Seasons Lanai.

Wow; utter lack of hospitality & "aloha spirit." I suppose they have enough money that they don't want any "riff raff" potentially disturbing their guests. Why not just put up a giant exclusionary wall & be done with it? So I've stayed at this property multiple times in the past - for business, for a wedding & as a family. I'm a "Four Seasons" regular elsewhere too. I was in Lahaina for a brief business trip & opted to take the ferry over to Lanai for a quick day trip as I hadn't been in years and have fond memories of the resort. My intent was a quick stroll along beautiful Hulopo'e beach, a nice lunch at the resort and back on the late afternoon ferry. What could go wrong, right? I was stopped as I neared the resort by an employee who asked if I was a registered guest. I explained that I was not but was planning to have lunch/drinks. He turned me away - nobody other than registered guests allowed on property. What?! I've stopped for meals/drinks at some of the best hotels in the world (including this one) as a non hotel guest and this was a first. I was so surprised by this info that I also called the front desk to inquire... no; nobody allowed to dine there other than registered guests. The only place I could possibly go was the restaurant out by the golf course..."but you need a reservation and a car to get there" (ie, you are neither wanted or able to go there either). Great; so I had brought no food along (not anticipating such an extreme measure) and now had no place to go for it - absolutely ruined day trip. In discussing this with others on the ferry back I was also told that weather had recently precluded regular ferry service back to Lahaina and that a group of people had been stranded overnight on lanai with no way to get back - including families with young children. They ended up in a public building bare bones shelter because this resort refused any assistance (unless they paid the full retail rate) even though they had empty rooms. That says a lot too. I'm sure if pushed this resort will claim that this measure is some "covid precaution" or similar.... but imo that's just an excuse to keep the public out - even a public ready and willing to pay for $20 drinks & a not inexpensive meal - and maintain a closed community of those paying thousands of dollars a night to stay there. Well mission accomplished for them - I will never be back.

Aloha MLO1965, Thank you for sharing your comments, please know that the incident that occurred is indeed truly regrettable. We pride ourselves in service excellence and truly embrace the aloha sprite here on Lanai. We do have policy in place for dining that you can find on our website, as we believe in having true transparency for our present and future guest. Should you wish to connect with me personally I am always available to do so. Mahalo Moshe Nelson Director of Rooms

The nicest four seasons I have stayed at ( I have probably stayed at least 15) the service is what makes this hotel-like everything COVID service at the past few four seasons I have stayed at was somewhat lacking -but the the beach resort four seasons in Lanai the service was amazing. Most of the people live on the island and is just felt like family at the hotel. We were there with a group of about 150 and had a couple of different dinners as a group there which were amazing and the individual nights were just as nice. Nobu was amazing -tue snorkeling around lanai is incredible -I would Go back but I would fly to Maui so I could take the ferry rather than taking the small airplanes to Honolulu

I could not say enough good things about my experience at Four Seasons Lanai. Everything was perfect from check in to check out. Service was the best I have ever received and amenities are amazing. Would highly recommend staying here. More of an adult resort but they did have a couple of kids around. This was the best honeymoon spot ever.

This was kind of a birthday treat for myself and it turned out just as nice as we had hoped. To get to the resort you land in Honolulu and transfer to a six-seat airplane with Lana'i Air. We had never been on this small an aircraft, but the meeting with a representative at baggage claim, car to Lana'i air, flight to Lana'i was smooth and fun. Shuttle to hotel waiting at terminal on Lana'i, quick ride to the hotel where we were greeted by Sarah, who brought us in, checked us in, gave us any needed information and then we were escorted to our room. One note, the resort has no ADA suites, so we took a gamble on one of their oceanfront suites and made it work. The bathroom was a bit small, and the toilet was in its own cubicle and there is no room to wheel into it. My wife could get from her chair to the toilet, but she has good upper body strength to be able to do it. The service was exceptional, and every contact with staff was friendly and they were always willing to help or make things easier. The grounds are gorgeous and reflect the work needed to keep them that way. Food was excellent and we tried new and interesting dishes. There are many activities to participate in, but these are very limited to access for anyone with mobility issues. We did have a nice night out at Lana'i City Bar & Grill and explored downtown Lana'i City (two blocks around Dole Park). Really nice fitness center open 24 hours a day.
