Such a quaint and historical place. Staff is attentive; rooms are clean and comfortable. We stayed in two front lanai rooms. It was wonderful to have an outside area. Restaraunts has great food. Friday nights there is a band until 11ish. Yes, you can hear it everywhere in the hotel but it is part of the ambiance. I highly recommend... More

There aren't a lot of options for places to stay on Lanai, but the Hotel Lanai is fantastic. We called in advance and were able to book the cottage. This had a private entrance with a large patio sorrow dead by a large hedge. There is a very comfy lounge for two and a picnic table. The room is fantastic.... More

The hotel is wonderful if you like beautiful, authentic atmosphere. The hotel is beautiful, quiet, and real. The center is the dining room, which serves great food. The rooms are in two wings off each side of the center of the building. They are nicely appointed. The hotel is in Lanai City, up away from the beaches. A shuttle circulates... More

The hotel is charming and my father remembers it from years ago and wanted to stay here. We were in the less expensive wing we found out. It was very noisy at night until 10pm. My room especially since I shared a wall with the woman's bathroom, so you could hear everything. So, if you want to get to sleep... More

Arrived on a Tuesday evening and hotel seemed like a nice, quiet place. But the restaurant was closed that night. Wednesday was karaoke night and it was quite loud and disturbing. I complained and was told it would be quieter on Thursday night because there was no special event. Also, told I was fortunate to be leaving Friday because there... More

We just returned from ten days in Hawaii, and the two nights we spent on Lanai were the highlight of the trip. What a quiet, peaceful place, compared to islands like Maui or Oahu. We opted to stay at the historic Hotel Lanai (vs the VERY expensive Four Seasons) and loved every minute of our stay. We rented the cottage,... More

Loved our stay at the Hotel Lanai. It has lots of historic charm--built in the 30's, with wide board and batten walls, plank floors, high ceilings, big windows to catch the breeze and Hawaiian quilts on the beds. It's small and quiet, with an excellent restaurant. It's definitely worth getting a room with a lanai--wonderful place to sit and sip... More

The Hotel Lanai offers a clean, basic accommodation in a convenient, central location. The room was very basic--bed, fridge, bathroom. No AC, but it really wasn't needed. No TV, but I didn't go to Hawaii to watch TV! Overall, it had the feel of a bed and breakfast with separate, lockable rooms. Yes, the floors are hardwood, and you can... More

With all the changes taking place on Lanai (to the positive in our estimation) this hotel remains excellent! Everything I have said in my previous review still apply. If you're into small, intimate, and historical hotels this is for you. If you're into mega-resorts, stay away.
