Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas offers a diverse experience, with guests praising the spacious, clean rooms and the inclusion of kitchenettes, while expressing dissatisfaction with certain amenities, such as closed facilities and no beach access. While the pools and property layout earn positive remarks, the value proposition is questioned due to steep costs and perceived disparities between regular guests and timeshare owners. The atmosphere and room views elicit mixed responses, and while some find the hotel's atmosphere comfortable, others are put off by dated decor and intrusive music. The service quality also appears to fluctuate, with some staff members receiving accolades for their helpfulness, but others seemingly overlooking non-timeshare guests. Location opinions are split, with the scenic proximity to Hanalei Bay being a highlight for some, despite others feeling shortchanged by their room's view and the price tag that comes with it.

The resort amenities are lacking for such a large place. The lobby is small, the pool is small, and there is only one restaurant. However the staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and large. Our room faced a golf course and the ocean. It was very beautiful and peaceful.

DONT GO TO THE MARRIOTT VACATION CLUB TOUR! I recently took a trip to Princeville Hawaii and took a resort for a Marriott Vacation club tour around Nov 9th Based on the information we were given we took the bate hook line and sinker and a $5600 a year maintenance fee. 1- We were told we had 100’s of properties to choose from 2- Bookings were easy just like going to Marriot’s web site 3- once we closed we could start our planning trips. This plan sounded great for our family based on the information they provided. We then signed up. December 30 2023 we received the notice we had closed and to sign up on their website. Once I was able to access the web site I found out. 1- It was not easy to book a desired room, everything was booked up 8 months out, I was told by member services that the reason was the timeshare owners had to turn their units in for points then something would be available. I was not told that we only had access to the last available, undesirable no view locations and had to wait for someone to trade theirs for one to come available. We were totally mislead as to the booking and availability aspect of the program. If I had access to the site before the closing I could have made a decision to cancel, I believe this process is done on purpose to allude the potential buyer otherwise and to wait the grace period out in their favor. 2- we were told we could trade our point for Bonvoy points to stay in the Hotels, this was our main reason to buy, but they neglected again to advise us that we got a much lower 1/3 the value if we trade and again, we have only found this out by accessing their website after the close date. 3- In addition to this Vacation prison we are stuck with, we now get calls every other day from the timeshare group soliciting more money to buy weeks and they “guarantee they can sell them for us and we could make extra money’ fortunately I know they cant guarantee us anything but they still continue to call when I have asked them to take me off the list. I wish I would have viewed the reviews before we waisted our time and money

We loved our studio room, with a thoughtfully organized mini kitchen - and a wonderful comfortable bed, although the decor is a bit dated - the resort is also great, low key, but with nice pools, areas to barbecue, etc. Although this resort is situated right in front of the ocean, ocean access is a bit complicated - so, plan to drive around or hike a bit to access the ocean. The possibility to access the beach at the famous Hotel1 (previously known as St Regis) is a bit ridiculous, with a parking fee of 45 dollars!! We did go visit the beach there, and were made to feel awful, before we sate down on some outside furniture "that was only for hotel clients". Maybe this situation should be reviewed? Anyhow, the North part of the island is so beautiful, and full of possible discoveries, that it made up for this small shortfall. Suzanne et Craig

I went on a trip with my boyfriend.. we were the only ones with access to the room besides the hotel. Cleaning took place 2x in the week we stayed. We are both clean and organized people, so after getting ready each time I would organize my things and put it away. I had my jewelry in a small jewelry holder that I had put under the sink in a basket, tucked away. I wore my jewelry out one night then put it away for the rest of the trip. The next morning after wearing my jewelry, our room was cleaned. As mentioned, I didn't wear anything after that night out. So I didn't check my jewelry until I got home and noticed that all of my rings had been stolen. I have since filed a police report and contacted the hotel multiple times to reconcile this event. The maid was interviewed and has declined to give a statement. The hotel is not doing anything to compensate or make up for this event. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR THINGS STOLEN. This has completely ruined my view on Hawaii. I will never go back to this place again and will make sure to let everyone I know how horrible this experience was. DO NOT STAY HERE

Beautiful resort with multiple pools (including one for kids) and very comfy pool lounges / furniture. Onsite restaurant with breakfast / coffee bar was great to have. We were in a one bedroom Villa where everything you needed was there to make breakfast & lunch. I recommend the ground floor with patio that walks out to grass - We had a pool view.

We went back to one of our favorite islands in Hawaii and favorite hotels which was the Westin, it has such a nice vibe and beautifully landscaped giving you that resort feel. The hotel layout is beautiful, the views spectacular with beautiful sunrises and sun sets, rooms were spacious and clean. We were a bit unlucky that the main pool was closed till the last day of our stay but there were two others with beautiful settings and views. The area around the hotel is beautiful and plenty of places to go and see, restaurants are pretty good around. Definitely worth the trip and stay.

I recently stayed at the Westin Princeville, and I must admit that I was quite disappointed with the pool and food service during my visit. Unfortunately, for the second consecutive year, the pool bar remained closed, and I was disheartened to learn that Marriott had no plans to reopen it. Over the course of our 6-day stay, there was a distinct lack of pool service, with only one day where we had the opportunity to enjoy it for a mere 2 hours. To make matters worse, the poolside ordering app, which could have been a convenient option, was either off or closed for the entire duration of our visit. This was my sixth visit to the Westin Princeville, and it's disheartening to say that the pool experience on this occasion left much to be desired. The pool water was consistently cold, to the point that it was mostly utilized by children, making it less appealing for adults looking to relax. I sincerely hope that the Westin Princeville and Marriott take steps to improve the pool and food service in the future, as it significantly impacted the overall experience during our stay. It's disappointing when a previously enjoyable destination falls short of expectations.

I would not stay here again. I requested a normal room that was quiet. I got an ADA room next to the elevator. I was told that was the only room available since I booked through Westin instead of through an owner. These are timeshares and the concierge really tries to get you to attend a sales meeting. The only nice thing was having a kitchen and a balcony that overlooked the golf course.

The stay was generally good. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. This time we did not get pestered to attend a timeshare presentation, which was a relief. The main pool was closed for renovation, resulting in the small pool crowded with young children who otherwise would have been in the main pool. What puzzled us, keeping in mind that there is no late checkout after 10 am, is that the night before we left, we got a text message saying that for the equivalent of about $10.00, we could "take advantage" of their "early bird" 8:30 am checkout. We wondered how Westin/Marriot could think that anyone would change checkout planing altogether, or more incredulously, change plans for $10.00. It was hard to resist the notion that Westin/Marriot thinks of their Princeville guests as easily bought cheapskates.

Among the many wonderful places to stay on Kauai, this is not where I'd pick to stay. I stayed with a family member who booked a room as part of a time share pitch. This spot has what seems to be a crappy restaurant, a nice but insanely overpriced coffee shop/store, and no beach access. Rooms were fine and have nice outdoor porches but the walls are super thin. We heard a neighbor's tv every night and for some reason guests yelled and talked loud in the hall night after night. It was way too little privacy and quiet and nowhere we wanted to hang except our porch. Main pool was under construction. Two small pools and hot tubs were full of young kids - not relaxing. Stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai in Poipu or book a private rental without all the yelling and noise.
