First time staying here after staying elsewhere in Princeville 20 years ago. Loved the cleanliness, location of the property, standard of finish, pools, and overall amenities in the villa. The villa was recently renovated and was superb. Nothing missing from what we would expect. Appliances etc are modern, quiet in operation and very functional. Little noise if any from other guests although it was running well below capacity. The resort had three pools (safely) in operation including a children’s pool and a quiet pool. The Makai golf course is close by which was also great. Little contact with friendly staff other than check-in and concierge which in the current COVID times was great. We would highly recommend.

We stayed for one night (11/14/20) which was one night too long. We wanted a nice place to stay after hiking in Ha’ene State Park so we booked directly with the Westin. When we checked in, we were told that pool towels would be in our room. We went to the room and no pool towels and the room was 85 degrees. I called the front desk and asked for towels and told them about the hot room and asked if we could switch to another room. I was told to “look in the bathroom drawers for our pool towels” (there are no drawers in the bathroom....) and that there were no other rooms available. We are not owners so maybe that’s why we were told that as the resort did not seem full. Someone was sent up to fix the AC but we had to leave the room but we couldn’t go to the pool because we didn’t have towels..... very frustrating when we are paying lots of money to stay here. The worst was when we were unpacking our stuff and we found a disposable mask in an open bowl on the dresser. How can the dresser be sanitized (all their signs claim that everything is sanitized) without moving a large bowl? How can a bowl be moved and cleaned with a dirty mask in it? I was disgusted and began to wipe down everything with disinfectant wipes. Westin is not what it used to be. Please clean your own room before you unpack to avoid getting COVID or better yet, find a hotel that cleans the room, has towels available and has working AC before you arrive in your room.

Aloha Gbarnes4070, Thank you for taking the time review our property. We are sorry we were not able to meet your expectations and would like to apologize for the shortcomings in service. I sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered as it in no way reflects the level of excellence we strive for here at the Westin Princeville. We certainly hold our resort to a much higher standard than what you experienced. We will be sharing your feedback with our department leaders to address immediately and ensure these are isolated issues moving forward. None of the restaurants or amenities (spa) are open. Go elsewhere for food and drink. The website doesn’t mention this when making the reservation. Bait and switch. Workers everywhere replacing room equipment. Basically a construction site where construction workers leer at the women guests at the pool. Very creepy. Concierge tried to sell time share or some Westin scam. None of the staff seemed overly thrilled about having guests on property. Watched leaf blowing worker throw his lunch trash into the canyon at the quad. Right over the fence. I guess that’s a form of the new green economy. Stay away until Westin can be honest about what this hotel really is.

The room we had was a lovely one bedroom room with a mini kitchen, laundry, and jacuzzi and an option to buy BBQ meal kits to grill over a BBQ onsite. Beautiful property. About a 40 min drive North of Lihue Airport. Nice little town of Princeville to buy groceries. Friendly workers and just fantastic area to stay. Catch the sunset at Hanalei Bay or swim at the scenic Ke'e Beach...though make sure you make a reservation before you travel there because parking is limited.
