Resort already needs another facelift/upgrade. I believe it was completed 6 years or less ago, but the shape is worse than before the previous upgrade was completed. We visit here yearly and it is in the worse shape it has been in, in a while.
My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Point at Poiku! The staff was friendly and helpful! We used the pool and fitness center, and they were clean and in good working condition! The staff and food at the bar and grill were great too! We definitely lucked out on the weather! It was sunny with a cool breeze for most of our stay! We will definitely come back again!
Overall experience has been excellent I have visited the location in the past and the standards have not changed To that point future visits are in my plans Keep up the excellent work. Great place !!!
Difficult to get food supplies to room as only one elevator per building and in the middle of long building so had to carry everything up 3 flights of stairs to get to our room. Pool area and pool side bar very nice and accomadating. The biggest problem is that we were not informed far enough in advance by prearrival that all restaurants & luaus were booked a month or more in advance.
Room 10-208. We just flew in from Waikoloa Beach a Hilton property and it was fantastic. The Point at Poipu which was recently purchased by Hilton needs a complete remodel. Everything here is old and dated, but my biggest complaint is that you can HEAR absolutely everything from the guests upstairs. We requested a new room but the manager never bothered to contact us back. So it appears for the remainder of our trip we will have to listen to constant noise from the folks upstairs. I for one will not return to this resort until some improvements are made!
Located on the dry side of Kauai, walking distance to a number of beaches including a very well protected Beach for young children. There are activities on the property including a title pool which has sand around it which makes for a very nice day in the Sun. And a friendly concierge staff that will more than be happy to help you book the numerous activities in the area.
Enjoyed stay. Food and beverages at pool were very good and reasonably priced. The room was spacious and comfortable, but could use some updating. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Appreciated the cold filtered water refill station that was available to guests.
I've been staying at this location for 26 years (before it was called the Point at Poipu). The location is amazing. The hotel itself needs some updating but I highly recommend checking it out. The Grand Hyatt is right next door and an easy walk if you want to try their breakfast or spa.
The facility was not as well maintained as in the past. Grounds did not look as good as in the past, the barbeques were not as well maintained The gym was closed several days. No room service. The rooms are showing their age. The dishware was not really clean; we ran everything through the dishwasher the first day. They are short of staff.
This Kauai resort gave us the flavor of old Hawaii, not the bling of high-end facilities. It was clean, very well maintained, lovely flowers and outdoor plantings. Maintenance folks were always working. Even the outdoor grill plates were cleaned each day. We could walk to several beaches and enjoy the sound of the ocean at night. The unit accommodations were good. Everything was clean and sanitized.
