Nicely appointed rooms with full kitchen- 2 bedroom one with king and one with 2 twins- we had the resort make the two twins into a queen which they did quickly- on-site pool, pool bar, fitness room. Short walk to the ocean. Easy access to local restaurants

This property is ideal for our bi-annual family week with our 3 married kids and 8 grandkids! The large two bedroom units are ideal and provide room for the kids. The large pool is ideal for fun and games, with it's sandy beach area for the little ones to play too. The staff are helpful and joyful... and the pool bar if convenient and affordable.

We are here with our adult children and 2 2 year old granddaughters. We absolutely love this resort. Everyone is incredibly helpful, and a pleasure to work with. The pool and hot tub are perfect for all of us. The pool bar has a great happy hour and has really good food. Views are spectacular. Kitchen, washer, dryer and 2 large bedrooms with 2 baths. Sitting here watching the turtles roll with the waves and the whales putting on a show. Yes, the rooms are a bit tired but you can’t beat falling asleep to crashing waves. This has been a perfect resort for our extended family.

What a huge disappointment this property was! I was fooled into booking what I thought was a newly constructed Hilton Vacation Club property, but this is just a very old, dated independent hotel that Hilton slapped their name on. Hilton should be ashamed! The property and common grounds are nice, but the rooms are dilapidated and disgusting. Terrible smoke and mildew odors, grimy edges on cabinets, filthy grout in kitchen and bathrooms, ripped carpet, old dirty furniture in the living area and patio, and the most disgusting room phones I have ever seen (not that I use those but I did not want to touch them!). The staff is the only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of one. The front desk staff listened to our complaints about the room, but told us none of the rooms had been renovated. They said the only other room available was in a different building on the second floor (we requested the top floor in advance due to noise, privacy, and safety concerns). We checked out this room and while the odor was not as bad, it was actually on the ground floor with a view of the smoking area and an ugly wall. To make matters worse, we had the bellhop move our bags to this new room because we had to leave for an excursion, and when we returned I found one of our hard-sided suitcases had a huge dent in it! No one said anything to us to claim responsibility for the damage to my new suitcase. We met with the property manager the next morning as she offered us two other rooms, both of which were a big improvement over the previous two rooms because they were on upper floors with ocean views and seemed to be slightly less run-down. However the mildew odor persisted and gave me a sore throat. The property manager ended up discounting our stay to make up for the room condition, the hassle of switching rooms twice, and my damaged suitcase. I do appreciate this, but the experience with this property ruined our trip to Kauai. If our schedule wasn't so busy and if I could have found a room at another hotel, we would have left and stayed elsewhere. However there wasn't much availability and last minute rooms are very expensive here, plus we did not have time to pack our stuff and move to a different hotel for this 3 night stay. I don't understand how anyone could give this place 4 or 5 stars, unless they didn't stay in one of these dilapidated rooms or they have extremely low standards. We stayed at HGV properties on Oahu (Hilton Hawaiian Village) and the Big Island (Waikoloa - Kohala Suites) during this trip and both were outstanding - modern, clean, and with an upscale feel. The rooms here are on par with a run-down Motel 6. I stay at Hilton properties often in many different areas and the rooms here are by far the worst I have ever seen. Stay elsewhere until they renovate the rooms!

Hilton just took over this property I believe in Aug/Sept 2022. I suspect they have plans to invest in the facilities because they are definitely “tired” looking in comparison to neighboring resorts (Hyatt, Marriott, Sheraton). See below. Location is 5*: I chose this property because I had a conference at the Hyatt next door and for proximity, it is a great choice, just a few minutes’ walk on the beautiful waterfront paths. Great beach and hiking in front of the Hyatt. In the other direction, Poipu beach is technically walkable as well. The grounds and rooms were very peaceful and quiet. Our ocean view 2BR was very spacious and quiet as well. The interior decor was old and very bland - all various shades of beige walls, carpet, tile - without any Hawaiian character. Noticeable peeling and rusting of the soffit/trim on the buildings. I think Hilton will need to do a significant remodel. In addition, aside from the nice pool area there are few amenities that justify the $40 resort fee. There is a pool bar that has some limited food/snacks and a small exercise room. I think this is fine if the plan for this property to be more a condo complex where people do a lot of their own cooking and just use it as a home base and occasionally spend some time at the pool. In that case it would be fine as long as they keep room rates and resort fees down for the value. Agree with another reviewer that accessibility could be a hassle especially getting to the ocean view buildings.

Room Tip: Best location would be a room close to the pool and toward to the Hyatt side as that is a closer...

The location was good and it was next to my conference hotel the grand Hyatt. The rooms were spacious. I paid for an ocean view but it was more like a partial ocean view. The walls were thin and I could hear the people upstairs at all hours walking around. They should invest in some sound proofing. They did clean one time which was enough for us but may not be enough for other people. They tried to sell a timeshare but definitely not worth it if this was their representation of a stay in one.

My unit was Bldg 1-302. My bed was spongy, it actually slide me from the head to the big sink in the middle. I was told there were no other mattresses in the whole complex, and it is a big complex. The house keepers and workers put a board under the mattress, that didn't work. Then they put the board, 2 egg crates one blue, the other was a dirty yellow, the bed was so high it would roll me off to the side. My last week of 3 weeks, they put the board and the blue egg crate, and a mattress cover on my bed. I had not choice but stay. It made my back and hip worst. I came back home in worst condition than when i got there. I had also told them, that I was disabled, the bath tub was to high to get into, and the toilet was almost to the floor. Befgore my arrival I requested a Ocean View, I didn't get that, I was told the room they had for me had to be change, because at the end of my first week, it was up for annual maintenance, of course I didn't believe, because at check the young man acted as if he was doing something shady. He could have given someone elese my room. There was some people who act like they cared anytime we would call they would say I'll see what i can do. Those are Monique and Darshelle in management. Immie, Queenie, and Norma. These people know the Hell we were put through, and then the charged me a $247.31 resort fee.

High resort fee for few in-unit amenities: NO beach gear (umbrella, beach chairs, cooler). Kitchen poor: old pots/pans, no Tupperware storage, no recycling bin. Staff super friendly, location excellent, but not enough bang for big $$$.

The place is a little outdated, needs updating badly. There is no beach. If you're Disabled or elderly this is NOT the place to stay. Stairs are everywhere. Rooms are NOT ADA compliant! The kitchen is a plus for families! You need to stop at Costco and buy supplies. The cost of groceries there was more along the lines of the mainland. Go to farmers market for fresh fruits and vegetables. The kitchen is outdated but saves you money if you cook a few meals. The island is beautiful but hard to get into most places, just not up to ADA standards. We made the most of the time we had and loved the scenery, oh and the chickens..everywhere chickens.

I booked a last minute timeshare exchange with this resort and read the reviews ahead of time so knew I’d have to walk to the beach as well as nearby snorkeling at Poipu Beach. I was surprised to discover upon arrival that it was right next to The Grand Hyatt, which has excellent, although, overpriced restaurants, as well as beautiful beaches and hiking trails. So you can’t beat the location. There’s also a spectacular hiking trail along the cliffs that take you to Poipu Beach Park. I walked this trail every morning and enjoyed watching the sea turtles occasionally poke their heads up as well as spying the distant dolphins. So why the 3 star review? The resort itself was less than ideal. I stayed in a 2 bedroom unit on the ground floor with a garden view. I asked upon arrival if they could put me in a 1 bedroom with an upgraded ocean view and they said no. That was okay since I was used to getting substandard rooms when exchanging my timeshare. But once I entered the room and started unloading groceries in the kitchen, I noticed that the surface of the drawers and cupboards were covered in grime. It was pretty gross. Not only that, I could not leave any food out on the counters because of ants. The staff came in twice during the week to spray for ants but it didn’t help. They were all over the kitchen as well as the bathrooms. Then there was the issue of noise. I arrived on a Saturday. The Monday evening after my arrival, a family checked into the room above me. It sounded like a construction crew was above me. Chairs were loudly dragged across the floor at all hours, heavy items dropped randomly, even in the middle of the night. I could hear heavy walking, even the sound of cell phones vibrating. But the worst was being woken up at 5:30am every morning and not being able to get into a deep sleep until after midnight because of the pound bangs. I complained to the front desk on Tuesday morning and they assured me security would talk to them. I continued to complain for the next 2 days and yet the noise continued. On the Thursday afternoon before I was to leave on Saturday, the staff offered to move me to another room which was on the 3rd floor in another building, also a garden view. I declined since it made no sense for me to pack everything up only to have to pack again the next day. They did not apologize, but only said they’d make a note that I declined their offer. As much as I enjoyed the location, the nice pool and decent poolside food, I can’t fully recommend this resort as they do not place cleanliness and customer service as a top priority. Yes the staff was very nice and friendly, but when a problem arose, they ignored it, or did the bare minimum to appear concerned. What they should have done is offer to move me day 1 or move the inconsiderate folks in the room above me. To wait 3 days was unacceptable. The whole purpose of a vacation is to catch up on rest and relaxation. I left more tired and frustrated than when I arrived. Great recommendation for a tour…. Do the Waimea Canyon sunset downhill bike ride. It’s a lot of fun and the views are spectacular.
