We've been regular guests since its opening circa 2009. Koa Kea offers an intimate setting with stunning vistas. It's a boutique property- romantic, relaxing and clean. All Koa Kea rooms were beautifully renovated just recently. We usually take a room just a few steps from the ocean. Its target demo is couples. If you want a place to keep the kids entertained with a resort pool adorned by water slides and kids activities... this is not your destination. The property is ideally located on Poipu Beach about mid-way between two nice walking destinations; the Grand Hyatt/Poipu Bay golf to the east, and Kikui ula shopping to the west. My wife and I begin each day with an awesome sunrise yoga class with Teri. The pool bar offers lunch, snacks and dinner service from the award winning *Red Salt kitchen (*I'll review separately). And they pour a great cocktail, or mock-tail. The pandemic has adversely affected the global travel and leisure industry no less than any other. The industry has yet to fully recover. Despite the many remaining challenges, no T&L establishment has fully recovered. We've found that Koa Kea has fared as well as any. The property is staffed by awesome, ever-pleasant, knowledgeable professionals who are very attentive to their guests. Many are dedicated long-term employees that make us feel like family every visit. Remember, Hawaii is the most isolated, populated land mass on the planet. Hence, cost for goods and services at a luxury resort such as this are higher than a similar resort on the mainland.…
Beautiful resort, excellent location, beautiful views, right on the beach. Attentive staff, including front desk, Concierge, valet, housekeeping. Delicious restaurant, red salt, one of the best on the island. would stay here again. Recommend a beach side cabana massage.
Romantic & Relaxing. Clean & Comfortable Worth it! Beautiful sunsets and best hidden spot in poipu. I only wish there was a little live music near bar area. But I loved it. I will definitely return to this beautiful place
My husband and I stayed here for a few nights of our honeymoon and wish we would’ve spent more here! It was an absolute dream, so quiet and relaxing just a few steps away from the beach which was also quiet. The other beaches in the area had a lot more traffic so it was nice to have it feel like we had it more to ourselves. We loved how this resort is boutique so it feels like you can have your own space at the pool and around the grounds. We enjoyed breakfast at Red Salt and a few cocktails at the pool bar, both delicious but expensive which isn’t too surprising considering you’re paying resort prices.Walking distance from some of the shopping centers/restaurants in Poipu which was a plus! The grounds were gorgeous and the staff were super friendly and helpful! 5 stars we’d love to make a trip back again!…
Excellent amenities. Stunning views. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Shoutout to Rebecca and Tristan at Red Salt restaurant. Excellent service. Will definitely return. A beautiful island and picture perfect views. The ocean room views well worth the money.
Just a great resort. Small intimate. Quiet. Beautiful with a great staff. Food is very expensive BUT Red Salt was by far best dinners we had on island. We loved Kristin at the bar at Red Salt. Outside bartenders are very nice as well. Maybe only other complaint is coffee is not free and they only have small cups for $4. Hardly a deal breaker. Oh and gym is very nice as well
Great food at Red Salt restaurant We had breakfast and the lobster Benedict is excellent Great service from Rebecca. She was very attentive and accommodating. Highly recommend The view is fabulous of the ocean.
The resort is amazing. Very friendly and professional staff. The rooms and environment are clean and beautiful. Much more intimate than the other big resorts in the area. Only critic is that beach equipment costs money to rent.
Everything closed way too early in the evening at 8:30-9 pm. Pool and hot tub hours only till 9 pm. No coffee in the morning for early day trips. Terrible house cleaning service. You have to request. When paying $500.00 a day I should get housekeeping every day!
The resort is very intimate peaceful and fabulous. The valet car service is great especially Roy and Jamieson. A major highlight is the poolside bar especially because of Erin. She is a huge asset to the resort and a credit to her Iprofession. She is training up her side kick Daniel to follow in her footsteps. I do wish the poolside bar would continue their menu after 430 when it now becomes Red Salt's menu which is not appropriate for the setting.
