Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Nestled on Poipu Beach, Ko'a Kea Resort is celebrated for its stunning location and breathtaking views, offering guests easy access to local activities. While the modern and clean rooms receive high marks, a few guests have noted issues with noise and obstructed views. Service at the resort is often lauded for the staff's friendliness and attentiveness, yet some have encountered slower service. Though the resort's amenities, including yoga and surf lessons, and the overall serene atmosphere are praised, the high cost and additional fees have led some to question the value.

We arrived early and couldn't get to a room yet. They checked our bags and said they would text us when a room was available. Which never happened. "Partial ocean view" room was just a room of a staircase. Staff was not very helpful in trying to find a resolution. I won't be returning.

Just finished a six day stay at this resort with my five month old baby. It was wonderful! Here are some helpful tips for parents with babies. The resort has cribs and pack and plays. I chose a crib. It was a mini crib and it came with a full-size crib sheet. That’s bad, crib sheets must fit tightly for safe sleep. When I alerted the front desk I needed a fitted sheet for the mini crib, they tracked one down in less than an hour. The front desk folks are extremely helpful. The mini crib was well-loved with lots of dents in the wood and a one-and-a-half inch mattress. My baby slept fine on it but in hindsight I should have brought my own travel pack and play. There are blackout curtains in the room to help with sleep. The resort is pretty quiet with no wild noise outside the rooms or people running through the halls. The sink in the bathroom is shallow. While it’s possible to wash bottles and pump parts in there, do yourself a favor and bring a collapsible camp sink. The showers are walk-in, no tub. So prepare to shower with your baby or bring an inflatable tub. The pool at the resort is heated. Good temperature for a baby. There were plenty of chairs with umbrellas around the pool to have shade all day. The Red Salt restaurant is fine with babies but they don’t like strollers. They’ll sit you in the back so the walk ways are not blocked. One night we ditched the stroller and had the baby on our laps for dinner. We got a better table this way. There are other restaurants a 15-20 minute walk away. Beach access was close and easy. The nearest beach (to the right, if you are looking at the ocean) is way more chill than crowded Poipu Beach with plenty of space all day to set up chairs and umbrellas, which you can rent from the hotel. If you need a quick market for groceries, drinks, and sunscreen, there’s a market inside the neighboring Marriott five mins away. Whaler’s Cove and Long’s Drug are walkable as well but farther away. Long’s Drug has diapers and wipes. If you’re thinking about staying here with a baby, do it! There were other parents with babies during our stay, one as young as three months. Seeing other families made me feel happy and welcome. Enjoy yourself!

Staff is incredible! Staff supporting valet, front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant were amazing. Property is very well maintained and clean. Great beach access and snorkeling just steps away. Sushi onsite was excellent. Rooms are well stocked with everything you might need. One downside was the terribly uncomfortable mattress. We stayed for 7 days and did not have a single restful night. Mattresses are cheap wire springs that will have you toss and turn all night. If not for the mattress I would already be booking a return stay

The location was perfect and the staff were incredibly helpful. Our only complaint was the mattress. We both left with stiff necks and sore backs from the mattress. The valet and all staff went above and beyond. The resort dining was quite expensive. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

This is our second time staying here, and not the last! We love everything about it! The rooms, the food, the amazing service and the beauty and cleanliness of the whole place! It’s so relaxing to be here, and even just staying a few days feels like a whole week of vacation 😎

Ko'a Kea is a resort in name only. It is well located but otherwise not a great option. It is expensive and you should expect to be nickel and dimed to death, starting with morning coffee for $6 and going on to having to rent a chair to sit on the beach. While the rooms are nicely appointed, they are small and dark, and the walls are thin. We could hear our neighbors morning and night. Restaurant is very expensive; the food is average. The wine list is abysmal. The $45/day resort (which becomes $53 with taxes) includes a lot of 1 time items, such as lei greeting and wretched bottle of wine in the room, as well as wi-fi. I can get free wi-fi at a Motel 6 but not at the Ko'a Kea? We will not stay here again.

Resort is beautiful with gorgeous views and in a wonderful location. However Don’t expect to utilize room service or the one restaurant unless you are ok with paying an astronomical amount of of money for little food.
