We were away from the condo most of the time exploring the island and found the location to be perfect. We stayed in building 3 room 108 a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo. Pros: The best part was the ground floor patio next to the pool facing the ocean. Really enjoyed being outside walking along the path to Lydgate beach, being steps away from the well maintained pool area, and relaxing on the ground floor patio. We observed the grills being cleaned daily. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn’t mind the roosters and had ear plugs if needed. Cons: Knew there was no A/C before we booked the condo and were okay with ceiling fan in master bedroom. However the second bedroom did get warm and heard parking lot noises. Kitchen floor and counter is very damaged and should be replaced. The bathroom doors being “open” with the slats took away from privacy. Overall it was a very positive experience. Knowing each condo varies, we were apprehensive, but it was just fine.

Five of us rented a two bedroom, two bathroom unit on the first floor. Views of the pool and ocean were beautiful! Ceiling fans were all we needed to stay cool when we kept the windows open. A fantastic breeze flowed through all the time. Loved falling asleep to the sounds of the crashing waves! This is a clean and comfortable place to stay. Parking was easy and location very good. Kitchen had everything needed and the bathroom had hairdryer. TV in living room, alarm clock in bedroom. Only one complaint. It is very difficult to make a left turn onto the highway, as there is no traffic light. This seems to be consistent on the island.

Having read many previous reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about our choice of accommodations. Now that we're home, I have nothing but praise for our experience here. Be aware that you get what you pay for. You can stay elsewhere and pay much more where you will also get more. For us, however, we felt that we got a steal for the price we paid. I was nervous about no air conditioning. However, we were never too warm in our unit. The fans kept the air moving and the trade winds provided delightfully cool evenings. We slept with the windows open and the covers on. The location was perfect for these first-time visitors to Kauai. We had rented a car (HINT--go for the convertible!) and enjoyed the leisurely drives north or south. We loved being close enough to town with its variety of restaurant options. (Kapaa is less than a 5-minute drive / Walmart and Costco in Lihue is 10-15 min) Morning walks were awesome here as were the sunrises. But the balcony/lanai was our favorite spot both for breakfast and relaxation in the evening. The sound of the surf and the beautifully landscaped grounds along with its somewhat remote location with no traffic noise made for a very peaceful and enjoyable stay. Our one bedroom/2 bathroom unit with its beautiful view was spacious and well appointed, although the bathrooms could use some updating. And yes, the roosters did get a little annoying with their 3:30 am wakeup calls, but where are there NOT roosters on Kauai?! I was glad I brought earplugs and used them whenever they became too annoying. The office staff was also easy to work with and attentive to our needs or desires. All things considered, we'd highly recommend Caste Kaha Lani and would happily stay here again.

So we are here. Right now. It's hotter than blazes in this room. No A/C. 83% humidity. I would not stay here again just because of no A/C. But there is more. So they don't clean anything. At all. Unless you pay extra. They also don't provide you with cleaning supplies, so we had to go out and buy them. So that was fun. Also the trash is you take it out to the dumpster. Which has never not been overflowing the entire week. Disgusting. If you are super cold all the time, don't plan to use the kitchen at all, and will never need a clean towel or make trash it would be super nice. As a family staying here was pretty inconvenient and I would recommend against for other families who may want to throw out diapers or cook breakfast. It's a beautiful property with lovely ocean views, and the condo itself was pretty and we liked it. It's just not set up for families or the weather.
