As a family of four we booked a small Ocean View room for one night. The ocean could only be seen from the balcony (yep, one of those). This hotel room wasn't up to our standards, need updating and cleaning. We brought our on cleaning supplies. However the pool has a slide and an awesome view. The kids were stoked. The A.C. did not work and there was 0 breeze, but it was just one night so we made it. Management was rude and thoroughly enjoyed telling us what we he could NOT do for us. Thankfully the lady at check in was kind. If you have kid I would recommend a short stay. One surprise is that Starbucks was there and open.

We stayed at the Kauai Beach Resort for two nights in July for my Husband's birthday. I would day that during this time of covid-19, the hotel is operating on a skeleton crew with bare minimum amenities. This is to be expected, however, I was not satisfied with the view. It seemed that the majority of hotel guests were roomed on this wing of the hotel. You would assume that because most of the guests and revenue is coming from Hawaii residents during this time that they would at least try to accommodate their guests a little better. When asked about changing rooms due to the view, they had nothing else available at the same rate. The hotel was empty. This will most likely be our last stay here for a long time.

Aloha melissapF1848ZO, Mahalo for taking the time to share with us your valued feedback regarding your experience at Kaua'i Beach Resort. Please accept our apologies for not meeting your expectations regarding the amenities and room view assigned upon arrival. Yes, unfortunately some of our services have been adjusted however our service should be no different. Regarding our rooms, not all of our rooms are available every day, due to extra precautionary measures that we are taking with sanitation and cleanliness of the product. The hotel may not be as busy, but we are ensuring proper social distancing and sanitation/cleanliness protocols are adhered to as best as possible. We hope that you give us another opportunity to win back your loyalty, and stay with us on your next kama'aina staycation. Mahalo, Kaua'i Beach Resort

Disclaimer...we visited shortly after Kauai reopened for in state travel (Covid 19) and the property wasn't fully staffed or completely operational.. We had a partial ocean view room (peek boo view) that had been refurbished. It was nicely appointed with a comfortable king bed, Unfortunately it was located above one of the designated smoking areas on the back of the property, so was a bit noisy/smelly at times. I suggest biting the bullet and getting a poolside view room. The multiple pools are nice and definitely family oriented. The hot tubs were still in Covid lockdown as of July 2020. The restaurant and bar on the property are still closed takeout only with limited menus. The spa is also closed. Check their website for deals during this restricted travel time. We had a waiver of the daily resort fee and a rental car for our discounted price.

Aloha redstackpmc, Thank you for providing us with a review about your recent stay at Kaua'i Beach Resort. We're happy to hear that you were able to take advantage of the Kama'aina special and bring your ohana to Kaua'i for an island hop getaway. Yes, some of our services are not operable due to the current pandemic, however we have been operating accordingly. Some of the services that are temporarily not available are our resort activities (i.e. hula lessons, lei making, hawaiian crafts, etc.), dine in restaurant services, daily housekeeping). Our food service is only available for take-out for lunch and dinner and cleaning services are only available every third day. However, if there are any housekeeping items that are needed, please contact our front desk team for exchange of towels etc.. We hope to welcome you back to Kaua'i and the Kaua'i Beach Resort very soon. We are also offering different Kama'aina specials that you can take advantage of for 2020. Hope to see you soon! We booked a sweet deal as Hawaii residents for 3 nights. We needed to get out of the house, and 4 pools at this price point was the deciding factor for selecting this hotel with our 2 tween kids. For the price we paid, it was fine. No way I'd pay full price and be happy about it. Pros: Kids loved the pools and the water slide. The grounds are gorgeous, beautiful foliage well maintained. It's on the beach, great for sounds/sights of the ocean (also see cons). It's near the airport and central if your plans include both the north and southwest tourist sights. The restaurant isn't terribly overpriced comparatively. Cons: The buildings and physical upkeep have seen better days. The rooms are small with double beds...Like REAL double beds. We were cramped sleeping. Inside our room was holiday inn express motel size/quality. The TV system was horrible. The drain was backed up. Ice machine on our floor was broken. Due to COVID there wasn't daily housekeeping, which was fine, but after 48 hours our pool towels were filthy. We left them outside the door for housekeeping, who took them, but didn't leave us new ones. The front desk scolded me when I asked for replacements. One restaurant was open for takeout only. The food was hit or miss on quality. The pork tacos were amazing. The kid menu fried chicken was disgusting. Everything else was in the middle. The beach wasn't a swimming beach, it was covered in plastic bits and cigarette butts. Looks like some kids had fun building driftwood forts, but my kids weren't interested at all. Overall, if you get a great deal on the place, it's fine. Kids under 14 will love the pools and chickens running everywhere. If you're after a romantic get away, great views, or beach lounging on the sand, I'd look elsewhere.

Aloha skeeteratredhouse, Thank you for taking the time and energy of providing an honest review of your experience at Kaua'i Beach Resort. Due to our ocean front proximity to the ocean water and salt, we do see our structures wear a lot more quickly than most. We do have plans to refresh the Resort in the near future which will address many of the items discussed in your review. Thank you for bringing the TV and drain problems to our attention. Yes, due to the current circumstances our housekeeping cleaning services have been adjusted. If your stay with us is longer than 3 days, your room will be cleaned on the third day. If your stay is shorter than 3 days, your room will be cleaned upon checkout. For pool towels or any cleaning or service supplies, we ask that you contact the front desk for those services during your stay. Please accept our apologies for falling short on different areas of our service levels. This is not standard of the type of service we wish for any Guest to experience. We would love the opportunity to learn more from you about your experience, and wish for you to give our Manager on Duty a call at your convenience at 808-245-1955. Despite our shortcomings, we hope you give us another opportunity to win back your loyalty. Malama Pono (take care)! Mahalo, Kaua'i Beach Resort

I would recommend the Kauai Beach Resort only to young families with children. If one came to Kauai for hiking, it’s much better to stay at North side or inside the Waimea Canyon State Park. If one came to the island for water sport, North and South sides are better than the East side where the hotel is located. As a matter of fact, hotel’s beach is not useful at all because of rough water and wooden debris. I stayed at this hotel in June 2020, just after a mandatory quarantine for Hawaii residents was lifted. The hotel was still under renovation with a lot of workers around. A gym was closed, hot tubes by pools did not work, a restaurant worked for take out only. The room 1306 in the Building #1 was assigned to me and my wife. It faced pools and was pretty noisy. The room had a small lanai and was spacious and clean, except for a carpet with dirty spots. I am sorry to say that COVID-19 rules are not enforced at hotel’s premises. Sanitizers are not available at the entrance and by elevators. Most people do not wear face masks by pools and at a bar.

Aloha abrp722, Thank you for taking the time to share your valued feedback regarding your overall experience at Kauai Beach Resort. The location of our Resort is great because we are centrally located to both the North and West shores of the Island, thus making your commute to any hike or Island adventure within an hour and a half time. If staying at a Resort on the north shore for example, and you wish to do a hike located in Koke'e, your commute time would be over 2 hours. Yes, unfortunately the beach fronting the Resort is not a swim-able beach. The currents and waves are very rough, thus not making it safe for any patrons. We highly recommend visiting beaches that have lifeguards present, so that they can properly warn you of any water dangers and safety precautions. Kaua'i Beach Resort takes social distancing and proper sanitation steps to ensure the health and safety of both Guests and employees. Sanitation stations are located at all Guest contact areas (Front Desk, F&B outlets, Housekeeping, etc.) throughout the Resort. We appreciate your feedback as this allows us to double check on our safety and health procedures in action. We hope you visit us again soon on your next return to Kaua'i. Mahalo, Kaua'i Beach Resort
