This is really not a B&B - you provide your own breakfast - but more a super condo rental. The location is up a steep back road, where you will need to use low gear, and is somewhat hard to find. But it is worth the effort to find it. We stayed at the 'Vacation Cottage', which had a lanai... More

Whenever someone goes on vacation, I always ask, would you go back. My answer is a definite yes. We stayed in the Cottqge at Hale Kua for 5 week in March and April, and have already booked our third visit for 5 weeks in 2017. As the location is higher up on the hillside in Lawai, it is generally cooler... More

Just as the other reviews have mentioned this place is lovely. We loved having our own cottage with lanai up on the hillside. Beautiful surroundings, washer and dryer and all the amenities one needs. We spent part of a week here for our 20th anniversary. We will be back someday!

My wife and I love to stay at off-the-beaten-path places when on vacation. Cathy and Bill's Gardenia unit is a homestay but feels very much like a vacation rental. The property is located in Lawai, about 5-10 minutes from Highway 50. We used Cathy's map to find the house around 1am (late flight) and let ourselves into the unit. (The... More

Cathy made the trip a joy. Their communication was clear and timely. The surroundings are peaceful and the place is immaculate. I will definitely make it our number one inquiry for lodging on our next trip to Kauai. Don't think twice and book with Bill and Cathy!!!

We stayed at two apartments - Gardenia and Banana Patch. Gardenia is in the main house. Banana Patch (along with other units) is in a different property - a few minutes drive. Both houses have quite steep driveways - might be a bit difficult for inexperienced drivers, but you get used to it fast. Both apartments are really nice -... More

The house is located in the woods, off the beaten track but within reasonable driving distance of Lihue and Waimea. Very close to Koloa Town and Poipu Beach (really nice for the kids). We stayed in the Gardenia Room, with the view of a huge, blossoming tulip tree from our bedroom and on a lush backyard on the other side... More

A quiet tucked away cottage up in the hills in Kaua'i was exactly what we needed to start our 2 week trip to Hawaii. it was comfortable and felt like home immediately. Kaua'i is a small island so getting around was not an issue. This place had a fully equipped kitchen plus excellent WiFi. There were a family of wild... More

It didn't matter that we spent 14 hours getting to Kauai; once we got to Hale Kua we were "home." What a perfect place; our well-equipped condo had everything we needed including a washer and dryer; it overlooked lush gardens and its location was private and provided cool breezes. It was an ideal base for exploring Hanappepe, Waimea Canyon, Poipu... More
