The resort is conveniently located near the Lihue airport and is indeed on the beach. After that, it's kind of what the title says. The place is dated and in need of a face lift. The rooms are kept clean and have the bear necessities amenities. However, the bathrooms are small. I can, however, see this place blossom with adequate renovations. The beach is narrow and very rough. I'd recommend water footwear if tempted to dive in the ocean. The best part of it are the grounds that are kept pristine clean and cosmetically attractive. The pool, hot tub and pool bar are cute in their own way. As far as I'm concerned, it fit the bill for a short, one night stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Aston Islander on the beach and enjoyed our stay. The grounds were kept very nice, the room was clean and spacious, the staff was very friendly and helpful and it was at a great location. The Coconut market place was right next to the hotel which had plenty of places to eat, and shop. The only downside to this hotel was it did not have a workout/fitness room and it was on the older side. That was not a problem because there was a sidewalk to walk or run to the beach. Also the beds were not the most comfortable. We would totally stay there again and recommend this place.

I stayed at the Aston Islander on the beach and had different expectations. My travel agent failed to mention a car is a must. Without a car I was stuck not only at the airport but missing out on sightseeing the island. I reserved a room with patio and a partial view to the beach. My view to beach was obstructed by a tree and construction to the next building. The room is nice and spacious, but the cover to the air conditioning was taped and I was hoping it held up and the large piece of plastic does not fall on my head while sleeping. The bathroom- shower was very spacious but when showering the floor flooded as there was no door. There was also a large tumbleweed of hair left in the shower from the previous person. The hotel is older and with the $$ being charged it should be more updated. The beach was littered with driftwood and in order to relax and swim we were required to walk to a different area. The grounds were kept very nice and the staff was very friendly.

Great location - close to airport and was a great base for us to explore the whole island from. Free parking and vouchers for lemonade and coffee were a bonus. Room was clean and tidy and pool was nice.

First of all this hotel has a great location. 15 minutes to airport, wonderful place to base day activities from. The beach was beautiful! There were times we were the only one’s on the beach. We swam in ocean there. So did many others. Music at bar quite and relaxing. Rooms very very clean. The coconut marketplace is only a short walk. All kinds of meal options at the ABC store there. We had an amazing prime rib dinner for $13.99. We loved this hotel. Pool and spa very clean. Grounds well maintained. Don’t be afraid to stay here it is amazing. We were in the 3rd floor but didn’t care since we had an ocean front room and view was amazing. It was no big deal to carry our luggage up the steps. Never had a problem with parking. Lots of parking spaces. Loved the quaint traditional Hawaiian hotel!
