We stayed in room 406D in August and were generally satisfied with the unit. The master bedroom bed was just awful. It was one of the worst mattresses we have ever had to sleep on and had no support whatsoever, we just sank to the bottom. Needless to say we didn't sleep every well at all. The mattress needs to be replaced. We didn't use the second bedroom or other two bathrooms so we can't speak to those. The kitchen had high end appliances (Wolf and Sub-Zero), but since we ate all our meals out and don't know if the kitchen was sufficiently stocked for cooking meals. There was more than an adequate supply of bath and dish soaps, shampoo, and paper products. Some of the bath towels needed a little bleach. The house was overall clean. The view from the balcony was amazing, even better than what is posted on site. There was a starter pack of coffee, a box of chocolate macadamia nuts, and shortbread cookies - what a nice welcome. Overall, would recommend this unit.…
The master bedroom had a mattress that sunk in a good foot when laid upon. We told our VRBO host we couldn't stay because of this. Too bad, no refunds. We lost $2400 for a 3 night stay. The master bedroom was dark as another building blocked out the sun. That building was also the view from the master bedroom. So if you'd like to awaken on the island of Kauai looking at an ugly building, book this room! Also smelled musty. The hallways were dingy and hideously ugly.
My family just stayed a week in Building F. The pool is very nice. We also saw a monk seal at the beach, which was great. The kids loved the fish and seeing the giant snails around the property. That's about it as far as the good. We booked through VRBO and the owner of our unit was also great. Here were the Cons: 1. There was no elevator in our building. It was a long walk back to our unit because we had to backtrack through 2 other buildings to get to our unit on the 4th floor. 2. The units themselves were fine, but run down, and ours was a little dirty. 3. The staff was beyond rude. They were condescending, glared at the guests and ruled with an iron fist. No beach balls or Inflatables of any kind are allowed in the pool. They were reprimanding all of the kids about going down the slide and pool behavior and the kids weren't doing anything wrong. My kids eventually didn't want to play in the pool. I can't stress how bad this was. We felt so unwelcome there. This may have been the worst part of the stay. 3. There is an 11 digit code to get to the pool. Have fun remembering that! There was also a 6 digit code to get into our unit. 4. You won't see any sunsets on this side of the island. Not something I thought about when we booked but then realized we were really missing out after we got here. 5. They advertise a restaurant being on the premises, but that's not 100% true. There is a very nice restaurant by the pool, but it is expensive and almost never open. You can't purchase snacks and drinks and sit at the pool. So, you are hiking back up to the 4th floor with no elevator again. 6. They were painting the outside while we were there. There was scaffolding up, walkways blocked, and workmen right outside our balcony yelling and working every morning early. Our back doors were all broken, so we couldn't even lock up at night. There was just a sticker on the doors saying the locks were going to be fixed. That's helpful..... I'll ask the guy that wants to break in if he can just come back when the locks are fixed. …
We rented 3 suites, A301, A304 and A306, in building A ocean view, 6 adults a 6 yr old and 9 yr old. We will never stay in a better resort ever again. All of our party loved this plce for the beautiful suites, the unbelievable pool, the beach and the location. We stayed 5 days and could have stayed more, We went through Kauai Exclusive Management, as each unit is a privately owned condo. The Host was responsive, we never had contact, easy suite check in and access.
We just spent 9 nights in condo A402 it was beautiful. The views from every room were spectacular. Two King beds that were heavenly. The grounds of the resort were immaculate and maintained daily. The location was perfect for visiting either side of the island. I had the best massage I've ever had at the Spa by the Sea by Julia her hands and arms were sent from God. I chose to have my massage in the Spa not by the ocean (Since that is by a public walkway). The food at the Oasis By The Sea Restaurant on site was delicious and our waiter Charles was amazing. We love the hot tubs, pool and beach. We can't wait to go back. It truly is one of the nicest resorts we have ever stayed at.
We really enjoyed this condo. We had a 2 bedroom, 3 bath unit with full kitchen and washer/dryer. Building C - room 104. Ground floor garden view. Our sliding doors opened up to the pool area, which was lovely. Pros: Grounds are beautiful, pool is spacious and has two slides and 3 hot tubs. It never felt crowded. The towel room offers you beach towels for your stay. There is a Safeway across the street so that made it super easy to eat breakfast/lunch in our room. Cons: It’s windy in this location and beach is not for playing/swimming. The on-site restaurant, The Oasis, is a disappointment. Their hours are limited, drinks are watery, their menu is a dismal and trying to make a reservation was a pain. Not worth it.
Maybe it’s not yet ready for tourism? But this property was a Huge disappointment. No Housekeeping? No room service? No minibar? Gates to get into the pool with code, can’t access beach without going through the pool? “Oasis”Restaurant only open 3-9? No breakfast offered, No lunch On a positive note: the food in “Oasis” is phenomenal! Happy hour is nice if you can get in, music was lovely when they have it. So, it’s got a long way to go before I would ever stay here again. Hope it can recover from Covid.
Avoid at all cost. This is the worst “hotel” experience I’ve ever had. Our washing machine is full of deadly black mold. The elevator safety bar flung off and I went flying down hard. The people at the pool told us we have to wash our own towels. And the front desk claims innocence because “the hoa runs everything.” Well the hoa doesn’t run the black mold washing machine and our clothes are ruined. I can’t move as my back is out from the elevator fall. This hotel is a 2 star piece of crap. Never have I ever been more disappointed and digusted by a property. The reviews that claim this is a 4.5 star are clearly just made up. There’s no restaurant for the pool. There’s nobody to help with luggage. The beds are hard as rocks and the people working here are rude. I’m writing this to save others from booking this piece of crap full of mold, no help given, elevator back ruining piece of crap hotel.…
We spent 7 days there- Sunday to Sunday- Ground floor suite- opened up to a lanai, manicured grass with nothing between us and the beach. Right next to the bar and grill (which is very popular) just off of the pool. Very clean, well maintained salt water pool/ hot tubs area. If you want to lay out, there is plenty of room. The suites had a kitchen between them, large rooms and soaker tub/showers. Security on site, no issues with rowdy's. I have to say, for a first timer, we really enjoyed our stay there, Bike rentals in the lobby, if you wait long enough for someone to show up. Well worth it- and walking distance to whatever you need. I attached a photo from an upper floor room. Yes, that's the pool. We will be back.
Second week at the Waipouli, gorgeous setting right next to the beach; monk seals abound!. Rooms were super well appointed with great cookware and the beds are very comfortable . Suite (H building) stocked with boogie boards and kick boards, right next to my fave restaurant the Oasis and across the street from Safeway. We enjoyed Princeville, Hanlei, Botanical gardens and Lihue, Hualani's at Timbers, CJM Stables horse back riding, Poipu beaches, Lawai Buddhist temple, Lihue farmer's market with amazing pineapple, and the tree tunnel. All mid-island from Waipouli! Staff amiable and helpful and we were sad to leave after a week--it is an amazing property with high end natural beauty and lush comfort. Candace from Kauai Calls set your heart free-accomodating and responsive--Highly recommend…
