Firstly, I know traveling during COVID makes things hard. We arrived at 5pm from the airport to find NO ONE there to check us in. We used the phone in the lobby which rang to no one. After 25 minutes we found a security guard who was clearly unaware of what to do. She found cards with our names on them and told us to come back in the morning to formally check in. How could they not have someone there when they knew a family of 7 (3 rooms) was checking in!?! What if the security guard didn’t find the small notes with our room numbers on them??! We paid extra for ocean view and you could only slightly see it over the top of a parking lot. We asked to change rooms and were told we couldn’t because of lack of staff because of Covid and that in two days we might be able to change rooms but it was never offered to us again. There was barely anyone at the hotel yet they gave us rooms all facing the parking lot! There was never anyone to greet you there was no aloha spirit the lobby was quiet and not welcoming. The restaurant and bar was closed for construction but the inside just had the furniture up on tables and no one ever working on it. The grounds and pool are stunning! The concierge was extremely helpful she was the best part of the whole place. When we tried to speak to reception staff they were rude, unhelpful, short and basically just tried to get rid of us. The location of the hotel although nicely situated on the island is right across from a shopping center and although convenient is not very nice. Rooms are nice. No cleaning service during Covid even though you have to pay a high cleaning fee. No ice machine in the whole resort. Receptionist threatened to not let our nine-year-old family member into the resort on the second day when we formally checked in because we couldn’t open up his Covid test. She actually told me she was going to have to turn him away, a nine-year-old boy! Even though he obviously had been left on the island and we were just having a hard time opening up his test results. Unbelievable.…
This Hotel was awesome. The pool was huge it even had a waterfall cave and sand at the bottom of the hot tubs and there was sand in one pool. The beds were so comfortable. The kitchens were so helpful. We stay at a lot of Marriott and Hilton’s but this hotel was just as nice. The couch cushion pattern was outdated floral but that doesn’t really matter there was no bugs in our room. I loved the lobby super nice and open there was a Koi pond with frogs in it at night. Right across the street from an abc store and a Starbucks also a Safeway. The plumeria trees were so pretty.
The condo was really clean and modern, and there was a nice balcony with a table on it, where we had most of our breakfasts! It was pretty quiet, despite going in the summer when you would typically expect it to be really busy. It is in a pretty convenient location, not too far from the cool sights and activities in Kauai. It's also right across the street from a supermarket and a small shopping square, so if you forgot anything at all, it is really convenient. I really appreciated how clean and organized the room was when we got there. We also enjoyed our time by the pool, where there were tons of lounge chairs, and the pool itself had so many cool features. I HIGHLY recommend staying here if you are in Kauai!
This is a very convenient location with a great restaurant attached and so close to the beach and shops. However, we were given a room on the ground floor that definitely smelt of mould. We couldn't stay there because it was not easy to stay in the room without getting headaches. Reception kindly moved us to the fourth floor with an ocean view. It became obvious that the resort had drainage problems. We were at roof level and the gutters under heavy rain flooded back into the eaves. Part of the eaves had been cut out to allow water to drain. Water damage was evident on all the eaves. Beautiful resort but this made it look shoddy. There was also no daily room service. Finally we booked a studio, but the room was definitely a motel room. There was no sink for washing up and no crockery.…
The condo was beautiful and clean. The views were magnificent from this room. Quiet complex was appreciated. The pool and hot tubs were meticulously maintained. The staff in the front office were always friendly and very helpful! The only disappointing thing was the couch pull out was extremely uncomfortable. We went to Costco and purchased an Aerobed to use instead....it was that bad. The cleaning fee of $300 added to cost of room was steep BUT we will be back...this is a wonderful place.
