First trip to Kauai and Plantation Hale was a really nice spot. Clean room, good internet and TV. Nice kitchen - would have been great with kids. Ample parking and the pool and hot tub were clean. Would recommend for families.

Great location. Great property. If you want a place with a kitchen, a pool, a hot tub, and a reasonable walk to the beach, this is a great spot. Also nice to be close to the airport. The unit was fine and I couldn't really expect more for the price. However, the unit above us had a very leaky air conditioner, which dripped continuously onto our air conditioner a story below, so we had to hear that all night, every night. I made five complaints (yes, five) and I got a runaround each time. They were friendly enough and full of aloha when I delicately complained, but nobody at Plantation Hale did anything to rectify the situation because the unit above us is privately owned and operated by the HOA, and therefore not part of the "resort." I also spoke with the HOA and they didn't care because we were guests of the resort. Either way, it wasn't handled by either party so we had to listen to drops of water falling ten feet onto a steel enclosure directly into the bedroom, all night, for almost two weeks. The problem was understandable. The way it was handled was definitely not. I'm not expecting the Marriott here, but I do expect to be able to sleep without earplugs. I would give this place 4.5 stars and we would love to come back if they made even the slightest effort to resolve our issue. But sorry 3 stars. Love Kauai.

First of all every bit of information on here and that was emailed said check in was at 3 and out at 12 but when we arrived we were told check in is at 4 and out at 11. They allowed us to wait by the pool and at 4 I went back to check in only to be informed that one of the rooms STILL was not ready. We waited another hour and 20min. While waiting I contacted the host which seemed to be some in between contact as they were USELESS and just kept contacting the front desk. They said all they could do is wave out checkout $30 fee. One of our rooms was VERY poorly cleaned! For $500 a night this was COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I will continue to try to speak to someone who’s actually in charge for sometime of compensation. Either way I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL! Also one of the receptionist was EXTREMELY rude.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights to being our honeymoon and it was the perfect location! So convenient to travel the island and many places to walk to for dinner and shopping. The rooms were a little older but they were very spacious and had everything we needed. The staff was wonderful!

We loved staying on this side of the island, because things move a little slower. The property itself was so quiet and peaceful. We had everything we needed to cook a full meal with the kitchen and appliances. We felt like we were living in our very own Hawaiian apartment. The beach is a short walk through some paved sidewalk and grass and it’s beautiful. You can watch the sunset from the beach, and it’s very secluded. The marketplace is walking distance and it’s very convenient. There were some minor issues and the building seems a little older, so there is some wear and tear already in the guest rooms. But I think it’s a good value either way. The location is central but far enough away to escape the noise. It doesn’t have all the fluff a fancy resort would have, but it really feels like home. Overall, I’m happy with our stay and I’m glad we got to stay with Plantation Hale.

You will never find better Employees at a 4 Seasons or any other resort that charges thousands a night. They are Amazingly incredible & go above & beyond. The lack of stars are due to things beyond Front Desk’s control. The issue was the other Guests ruining other people’s stay.

This condo complex is located just North of the airport and right beside Kapaa so its a real good location as its central to most everything on the island. Room was very old with stained carpets. Needs a refresh. Still a good value.

Selfishly I almost don't want to submit a review, but this is BY FAR the best value property on the island. I will stay at Plantation Hale every time I come to Kauai, which will be often. The room was updated and very well appointed. The property has an excellent location just a couple blocks from the ocean.

The rooms were clean, the service was good. We loved the condo, it was perfect for our family. We were able to eat in for some of our meals and cut costs and the hotel provided anything needed for eating in. We loved the location, the perfect spot to experience the entire island. Only con for us--We wished the jets worked in the hot tubs, but overall we loved the experience and the rooms were just wonderful.

Booked the Plantation Hale as part of a package deal thru Hawaiian Air, and it was the least expensive condo for us at the time. Have been coming to Kauai for over 40 years, and have stayed on the east side several times, but never at the Plantation Hale. We were very happy with the condo. For us it was clean, had ample parking, good location for exploring both north and south, and had the Coconut Marketplace, with an ABC store, and a Longs/CVS on either side. We were booked for a pool view room, but instead were on the second floor of the "H" building and a distant ocean view from the lanai. We never even brought the room differencet up to the resort, as we think we had the better view, and probably better chance of a breeze. From the room it was less than 200 yards to the beach, and though considered unswimmable, it was nice to walk over to the sunrise, or along the Kapa'a bike and walking trail any time during the day. There was a Safeway just down the street, several food trucks and restaurants in the town of Kapa'a, and Walmart and Costco 20 minutes away in Lihue. There was road noise from the road, and traffic in the mornings and afternoon, but the property was otherwise quiet with 3 pools and 2 hot tubs, and a gas grill next to the pools for a BBQ. Our room was comfortable, with 2 televisions, 2 ceiling fans and a loud air conditioner in the bedroom. We would stay at the property again, especially if we knew we could get the same room.
