Was exactly as depicted and advertised - great location, very clean and spacious (we had 201, top floor unit with king & double). Our family of 4 especially appreciated that there were enough towels and the small kitchenette with fridge and mircrowave. And there was a great breeze through the windows. Only thing to be aware of is the beds are VERY firm, as they’re on a wooden platform, no boxspring. I actually don’t mind a firm bed, but you should know in case you prefer a soft or medium mattress. We loved how close it was to the Park (5 mins!) and to Thai Thai bistro (delicious!) Check-in/out was so easy too. Thanks for a great stay!
The Lokahi Lodge was clean. The location is close to the national park entrance. The room looks like the pictures and feels more unique than a standard hotel room. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely room with a fireplace, what else is needed. Very big bathroom and clean room. Close to the volcano park and nice restaurants nearby. Living in the middle of the jungle with amazing plants just outside the house.
We stayed here for 5 nights and more than pleased with the cleanliness and bathroom etc .It is tucked away but close to shops and restaurants and the national Park which is presently closed.Only 20 minutes to airport also on highway 11 which was easy to find from the airport.
We initially booked here to be close to HVNP...which is just down the road...with the closure we still enjoyed seeing the area, and driving to Pahao to see the Lava glow. The accommodations were nice, clean and a very large bathroom which was nice for our family. It was very quiet, with some restaurants and convenience store close by. We also appreciated the front desk manager who gave us a lot of information and recommendations.
That's was great time for us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The first night, we could see high above thousands of stars we never saw. Thru top window. We know why topwindow there's. Every night, birds wisper! Morning, nightingale sang. Walking around rain forest. The lady recomended us, was beautiful‼️ All the village people was nice and lovely. Mahalo! M🌴M 住むように 滞在すること が 叶う 手助けが有ります! フロントデスク が 信頼 出来ます! 美しい自然を 是非 お楽しみに! 火山⛰の女神が 静まりますように🙏
We stayed here 1 night after our reservation at the nat’l park was canceled suddenly due to closure of the park. We were grateful they had a room available. The setting is pretty, and we loved the sound of the tree frogs at night. Our room had two queen beds and was good sized. It was clean, but not spotless. It was a bit warm when we came in, but cooled down quickly after opening the windows. We checked in late, and were relieved to find keys and a map to the room location from the check in site in an envelop with our name on it. The next morning, we went back to check out. The person at the counter was a bit cold. Overall, this place is a decent lodging option for the volcano area, but don’t expect a warm welcome or much more than a rustic room.
I had a very disappointing experience at Lokahi Lodge. The location was hard to find in the dark. Check in was about a mile down the road and the man who checked me in was not friendly or helpful and seemed happy to rush me out the door. He asked me for my home phone number and not my cell. When I got to the lodge their was no one to settle you in or help with questions. It was a lonely experience. I realized I wanted out and called my travel agent the next morning. I realized I had to stay another night but was disappointed not to get a refund for thr third and fourth night. The manager said she had tried to contact me but the messages were left on my home phone in Arizona. The night clerk did not even let me know that I could eat at their main site in the morning. By the time I heard they would upgrade my room I had already booked another place. I don't feel I was treated well at all here. My whole experience with the lodge was not very comfortable.…
We stayed at Lokahi Lodge. It’s a bungalow with six rooms, surrounded by rainforest and it’s a great illustration of the old principal that the three most important things about any accommodation are location, location and location. The room is clean, comfortable and spacious but the decor could have been designed by your grandmother. However it is a mile from the National Park entrance and five minutes drive from several excellent restaurants. Sitting on the lanau, enjoying a late night drink after an excellent dinner at Ohelo was one of the best times I had on Hawaii.
The room was so comfortable, huge and warm. I wish all rooms were as well thought out as this was. The lodge is about 5 minutes drive to the Volcano National Park and around 30 minutes drive to the black sand beach. Highly recommend.
