We got a very small, but nice and affordable room in the house. The bathroom is shared though, but very nice. It has a shared common room with a kitchen. But I did not see any stove though. Very convenient location to visit the volcano national park.

We loved our stay at Volcano Hale . We got to meet great staff and guests . The hot tub was relaxing after a long hike in the park. I got great pictures of the fish pond. My wife loved the coffee at the office.

The room was attractive and fine for our two night stay. We shared a very clean modern bathroom with other roomers but never saw anyone else using it. Grounds were very attractive. We had a fabulous dinner and breakfast at the nearby Kilawea Lodge (but very expensive!$

The accommodation was clean and in a great location to visit the volcano national park. However you must be prepared to share a bathroom and also the bed clothes and curtains in the bedrooms need renewed. I would recommend a short stay to enable a full days visit to volcano nation park including viewing the volcano in the evening.

We had four people in our party so booked two rooms. Though not everyone in our party was sold on the idea of a shared bathroom prior to arriving, they quickly saw that for the price, it wasn't as much an inconvenience as they had imagined it to be. There are at least 2, if not 3, bathrooms in the... More

My sister and I stayed in top two rooms of the Hale building and pretty much had the upstairs to ourselves -- two rooms (each with a roomy queen bed, nice coverlets, airy, screens, tree ferns & ohi'a lehu'a trees outside) with a shared bathroom between. Comfy, light, bright -- and awesome for $70/night per person! The downstairs rooms are... More

My husband and I wanted to stay close to the national park and we zeroed in on Chalet Kilauea. It was a very pleasant stay. The rooms were clean. The kitchen was spotless. We couldn't have asked for anything better.

Staff was very friendly. We took a private room with shared bathroom for a right price. WiFi worked well. Very clean and quiet. We left the key in the room because we left early and called reception to let them know.

We chose this place for some reasons: 1. This guest house is close enough to the Volcano NP. 2. We were there for only one night, and we will arrive at the late night. Why bother to spend more on the hotel rates. 3. We haven't stayed at any guest house or something like youth hostel for years. So why... More

The lodge was beautiful, surrounded by rainforest and just a few minutes drive from the Volcanoes National Park. We booked one of the cheaper rooms at Volcano Hale (private room with shared bathrooms) and were upgraded upon arrival to a private queen room at Lokahi Lodge. What a pleasant surprise as we now had access to the outdoor jetted hot... More
