Excellent place to stay! It looks just like the photos on the website. Beds were comfy, kitchen was stocked with dishes/pots/pans, and the place was spotless. They left a couple of lights on which was really helpful since we arrived as it was getting dark out. One of my favorite things was the heated mattress.. I need one of these at home!! About the area... There is so much to see in the national park and the surrounding areas, so this property was a great home base. While doing my pre-trip research, I found that a lot of the park has reopened since the eruption! So many great hikes to do. Also, be sure to check out the turtles at the nearby Punaluu beach. Our favorite way to end the day was with a drink at the historic Volcano House hotel in the park. Overall, it was a very delightful stay! We will be back!…
My husband, daughter and I stayed in the queen Emma for 1 day and it worked out great for us. Clean and spacious enough. Lush greens around, very quiet. I will say this...I booked this before the closure of Volcano Park. I’m glad we only stayed 1 night, there really isn’t a lot to do in this area without the park. We took a drive to volcano village and were surprised at the fact that there wasn’t much there. There are a couple tiny markets, but if you plan on staying for more than a day-get groceries in a bigger town. Not only is it more expensive, but the selection is very limited. We did feel a couple earthquakes, but felt safe. From there we drove to black sand beach and south point-both worth seeing and not too far. Overall, nice place to stay.
Don't waste your money!!!!! Worst customer service ever! We stayed at their 5th street Ohana which advertises laundry facilities. But there were none. A guy that works there told us that they were stolen the night before. The next day the lady said that both washer and dryer broke simultaneously so they removed them. Made no effort to compensate us for the time and money we wasted on laundromat and for the lies they've been telling. To make matters worse the Volcano national Park is closed, there are daily earthquakes here and there is nothing interesting left on this side of the island. The whole neighborhood is run down and doesn't feel safe. Find a better place!!!!
We stayed at 5th St Ohana in July of 2017. We had a nice 2 bedroom unit. Full kitchen. Laundry is available on the porch. The area was secluded/neighborhood-like - not sure what it is like now since the eruption and lava flows.
My wife and I stayed in the Queen Emma suite for 2 nights while spending days in Volcano National Park. It's a great base for visiting the park, and a very pleasant place to stay. It feels secluded, being surrounded by lush subtropical vegetation. It's dark and quiet at night due to this seclusion, good for sleeping. Inside is very fresh and clean. Everything works well. There's way plenty of space for two - this place is basically a large studio apartment. The information binder is helpful, both about the suite and the park. We're very pleased we chose to stay here, and recommend it.
