I stayed here as they were changing their name to Lava Pond Lodge from Bamboo Orchid . Although the name changed...nothing else did! The service and hospitality was awesome. Reggie made sure all my needs were met and even answered any questions I had about the Volcano National Park ! The room was very comfortable with a beautiful view. I... More

Though the location is wonderful, close to quaint restaurants and art studios of Volcano village and entrance to the park, the accommodations were beyond disappointing. Dirty, run-down, unkept.... We had two bedroom unit for the four of us and the kids had to sleep on thin futon mattresses on the floor which has not seen a vacuum cleaner in a... More

Cosy, homely little cabin in the forest, very private, surrounded by rainforest. Fully equipped kitchen with grocery store and restaurants nearby .Old style bed soft and spongy with extra blankets for the chilly evenings( it gets cold) . Heater, TV, internet and veranda. Short drive to Volcano National Park. My only con was the price, probably could have been a... More

We stayed in Jade Suite 1. Beautiful location in between the fern trees and the ginger. The cabin was equipped with everything you would need. We loved the fresh fruit which was left out for us. A dehumidifier was running and the cabin was not musty at all. It would be a good idea to replace the refrigerator as it... More

A lovely cottage in the woods with excellent facilities. A quiet away from it all location guarantees a peaceful nights sleep. The equipment provided were excellent and allowed us to self cater with ease. Shops and supplies within easy reach. Ideally situated for Volcano National Park away from busier tourist spots.

I stayed at the Lava Lodge at Hale Kilauea, Diamond House and can tell you first hand to avoid staying at this facility, The Diamond House is a overpriced dump. The house smells like wet wood, and mildew and requires two dehumidifiers to be keep running at all times, who know what mole is growing. The furniture hasn’t been updated... More

We stayed at the Diamond House - a beautiful, well-appointed house tucked away in lush greenery near Volcano National Park. The house has ample sleeping quarters, towels, soap, shampoo, and kitchen facilities. We loved the loft. There are dehumidifiers in the bedrooms that really have to be run because of the constant high moisture level. Due to my work schedule,... More

We (our friends, my wife and me) stayed here a week ago. Initially we were very wary considering the bad reviews on TA. I agree that checking in late is a hassle especially with the owner leaving the keys in a grocery store. But after checking in, we really loved the place. We were put up in the Jade House... More

We booked 2 rooms at the Lava Lodge and instantly regretted it. Upon our late check in, we had to go to the Thai Thai restaurant (which looked good, but we didn't eat here). We had to pay for the rooms up front, which I'm always a little wary of and in hind sight, I regret agreeing to pay upfront.... More

This place is about as close to camping as you can come, including spiders and the mold you might find no the inside of your tent... including the wet mildew funky smell. Hardly worth it if it were free. Do yourself and favor and stay somewhere else, that's clean and bug free.
