Very cozy and comfortable, be reminded this is a cottage, not a star hotel Very quiet and easy access to local good eats and groceries a few minutes to the volcano national park, excellent location The breakfast is kind of too little if you prepare the day to the volcano, you can get very hearty hot breakfast near by, no...

Having seen many places around the world, this is one of my favorites. Beautiful century cottage(s) enclosed by (rain) forest, just a 5 min drive east of Volcanoes National Park. Fully equipped rooms with lovey details and beautifully designed features. If you like nature you will love the surround as much as the perfect landscaping on the premises. Nice breakfast...

Hale Ohia Cottages is just off the main highway about 2 miles from the national park and about 1/4 mile from Volcano Village. We stayed in Lehua cottage which had a large bedroom, a kitchenette and bath. It was heated by a gas fire, which meade the bedroom very comfortable - it gets chilly in Volcano at night. The one...

Extremely well placed for the National Park, the main reason for us staying in Volcano but also used it as a base for exploring around Hilo before decamping to the western side of the island for the rest of our Hawaii adventure. Stayed in a smaller stand alone cottage; one queen bed and a 'half hidden' twin all in the...

We stayed here for two nights in a cottage (Camellia) . Very pleasant stay, fresh fruit and sweet bread are placed in the room, there is a refrigerator. So close to the park entrance made it very convenient to come as go as you pleased. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay again.

Be careful you don't miss the turn to this driveway off the hwy. The cottages have huge curb appeal and are quite comfortable but the walls are paper thin and if you don't luck out like we did with just snoring and 6AM wake up - it could have been worse. There's a fridge & coffee, banana bread & fruit...

We were staying in Kona for 2 weeks, but had reserved and paid for a one night stay at Hale Ohia cottages while touring Volcano Natl Park, but with Hurricane Madeline and Lester causing extremely dangerous driving conditions we felt it necessary to remain at Kona location. So we called the Cottages---more than once--trying to get a cancellation/refund. They adamantly...

This place is really quiet (no television). Near the national park. The receptionist was very pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast is left in the room (there is a frig) and it was delicious. Overall this was a wonderful place to stay.

The location is perfect. We were able to go into the park 4 times in 2 days since it was just a 5 minute drive to the entrance. The landscaping is really pretty & everything is very quaint. The staff is pleasant. The breakfast was a nice touch. Great papaya! The only real problem we had was that we had...

We stayed here last year in the water tower cottage and loved it. When we decided to come back we wanted to stay longer, so we booked the master suite to balance out the cost. While the room wasn't quite as private as the cottage and didn't have the patio, it was actually much roomier and more comfortable. The people...
