My husband and I had a lovely seven night stay in the Pualani suite. If you stay seven nights the seventh night was free. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts every morning which varied from day to day. Our room was very clean with a large closet and plenty of room to store our belongings. Our hostess Petra was very helpful in...

Our family of 4 stayed at Hale Moana 4 nights. The location is in an isolated, peaceful area, 10-15 minute drive from Pahoa and several east-side attractions. This is a great place to get away from the resorts and tourists. Petra was so welcoming and the breakfasts were fantastic, especially the fresh fruit.

Our 2 day stay was OK. We stayed in the Makamae Studio, which was located next to the breakfast room. In fact ... the window of our bathroom was situated in the breakfastroom, which we did not like. At arrival, we were welcomed by Petra, although she was very friendly it was obvious that she was stressed and in a...

We loved staying at Hale Moana B&B. We originally chose it because it's a very convenient place to stay when booking the early morning Lava Boat tour, just 10 minutes from the launch place, but we would definitely stay there again when traveling in the area. It's not too far from Hilo or Volcano National Park, and it's a great...

We stayed in the Garden Suite and the Lanai Suite for two weeks. Both rooms offered great views of the beautifully manicured lawn and gardens. They were clean and comfortable. The breakfasts offered a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, and main dishes. The French toast made from guava bread and the pancakes with papaya and banana were delicious!! We...

We enjoyed our 2 nights at this fine BandB. Thoughtfulness was evident throughout. Though we did not cook, We noticed that the kitchen was well equipped and had we been able to find a wild pig and chosen to roast it, we would have been able to do it. I was traveling with my daughter and the layout of e...

I stayed three nights in the Lanai Suite at the Hale Moana B&B. I found the suite to be quite clean and comfortable -- it was well appointed and wholly suited to my needs. The weather was exceptionally wet and humid during my stay -- while the suite is not air conditioned, it does have ceiling fans that help make...

Petra prepared great breakfast and provided super friendly service and helpful tips for our trip to the volcano lands. It's the perfect location to go on tours to see the lava from land from Kalapana or from boat with lava ocean tours starting at Isaac Hale Beach Park. We enjoyed our tidy rooms and the beautiful garden surrounding it.

Wonderful huge garden with various wonderful trees, tropical plants and even orchids - a botanical garden would love to have such an area. Comfortable room with all comfort. Petra is great host who prepares not only a wonderful breakfast with various fresh tropical fruits from the garden(!) but also takes her time to give advice about the best spots to...
