We did not want to stay at hotel, this is why we were looking for an inn. And we found the perfect one! We stayed at Lava Tree Tropic Inn (in the separated house) for two weeks. Our wedding took place on the island but it was just a 15 minute episode in our island stay:-) Irene helped us in...

After doing an internet search for B&Bs in Pahoa, we decided to land at Lava Tree Tropic Inn because the rates seemed just a slight bit less expensive than the competition. Who knew we'd find a true paradise? I don't use those words lightly either. Irene was a fantastic hostess and bent backwards to accommodate us. Not only did she...

We spent 5 nights in this wonderful inn in April 2010. We enjoyed Iren’s kindness all through our stay. Breakfasts were excellent, with home-made bread, special Kona coffee, unique Hawaaiian fruits. Rooms were clean and comfortable, wireless Internet as a plus. Morning excursions before breakfast to the hot pond were fantastic. We also appreciated Iren’s garden , it was fun...

This Bed and Breakfast is wonderfully located in lush green "jungle like" garden nearby Pahoa, only few hundred feet away from the Lava Tree Park entrance. Its a great starting point either to Hilo, the Volcano National Park or the tide pools. The rooms are nicely decorated and pretty spacious (apart from the room I stayed in I saw the...

We loved our room with a beautiful porch where we could sit out and drink wine at night. The owner was extremely accomodating, breakfasts were wonderful, and the property is beautiful. We will definitely come back here. It is nice and rural but easy to drive to the National Park, beach, Hilo, etc.

We stayed three nights at the Lava Tree Inn. It was wonderful. Little hard to get to, but very peaceful location. We found the exerience nice, the owner was very helpful in helping us get arrangements made for some local vacation ideas. If we were coming back soon for another visit, we would stay here again.

Upon meeting your hostess, Irene Grunfeld, you are instantly transported from your hectic life into an oasis of calm at the tropical compound known as the Lava Tree Tropic Inn. Located on the Big Island of Hawaii, about a 30-minute drive from Hilo, and a 3-mile drive from the historic frontier sugar plantation-era town of Pahoa, the Lava Tree Tropic...

The Lava Tree Tropic Inn is someplace you must experience to understand and love. I hope you get the chance to go. Irene makes each and every guest feel as though they are a member of her own family. My husband and I like to stay at B&Bs for the people we meet as well as the accomodations and Irene...

The Lava Tree isn't the fanciest B&B on the Big Island. But it's clean and comfortable. Irene is the owner. She took me swimming at the thermal pond, taught me how to pick fruit off of the native fruit trees, stayed up singing and playing the ukelele with me at night, and generally was fun to be with. The Lava...

Date: Jan 28 2009 We were looking for a quiet place off the beaten path to relax, enjoy each other, and see a new part of Hawaii after a very stressful two weeks of business. We found the perfect place. The setting is almost magical - lush tropical vistas out of every window, in walking distance from Lava Tree State...
