We had an enjoyable three night stay at the Ohia House, a few miles outside of Pahoa. It was the perfect place to explore the Puna District of the Big Island. The Superior Studio Suite was very comfortable. Cindy prepared us breakfasts that were a treat to both the eye and the palate. And they were served on the spacious... More

My husband chose the Ohia House to spend four days in the Hilo/Volcano area, and I am very glad he did. The home is lovely and comfortable, just off the quiet street in sheltered tropical surroundings but still close to many sights. Cindy and Rick were very welcoming hosts and gave us many helpful suggestions to help us better explore... More

My daughter and I spent 3 days at Ohia house to begin our Hawaiian vacation. The owners, Rick and Cindy Vogel were very friendly and accommodating. They were super knowledgeable about the area and all the things to do during our stay. The room was very nice, and clean, and opened to the lanai where we were served fantastic breafasts made... We came to the Big Island for our honeymoon, and we have never been the ones to stay in a typical hotel, so when I found The Ohia House, I was very excited. We took advantage of their stay 7 nights, get the 8th free, and it was well worth it! The minute we pulled in, at about 7pm at... More

We wanted to go and see the west side of the big island, but had no idea where to stay. We found the Ohia House and what a gem it turned out to be!!! Cindy and Rick turned out to be the best hosts! They have a lovely house that is immaculately kept up. We stayed in our own bedroom... More

We drove in, parked our car and before we could get out, Cindy was greeting us. The place was clean, spacious and surrounded by lush greenery. Cindy helped us pick some places to visit and I could go on and on about how interesting it was and she helped us find nice places to eat. For a relatively remote place,... More

After a very nice stay a few years ago we decided to return to the Ohia House again, and again we were not disappointed. The most significant feature of this property is that it has only one guest room, so you get the full attention of the hosts. The room is very large, with an equally large bathroom. In addition,... The service at this B&B is excellent; nothing seemed to be too much for Cindy. Since Pahoa is my favorite place on the Big Island, we were conveniently located close to Lava Tree State Park, the Hot Ponds, Uncle Robert's, Black Sand beach, and several Farmer's Markets. Thanks to her well-supplied bathroom, I was saved from the problem of packing... More

Our stay at Ohia House was wonderful! The room is clean, comfortable and private with a screened lanai for our private use. The full breakfast was delicious with a different main for each of the 4 days we stayed. Lots of information provided on local events and activities. We were able to visit local farmers market and relax in the... More
