This hostel was clean and neat. The kitchen, which was shared with the other residents, had all you needed to cook a meal. Hostel attendants were friendly and helpful. I shared a room with other residents and that the room was not full occupancy.

Tony and Annie are great hosts! The guys who work here are great and I can't say enough about the welcoming atmosphere!! It's way nicer than the hostels inside kona and it's worth the short drive out of kona. If you don't have a car, the bus is a great option and hitchhiking is always easy!!

The owner locks the kitchen and showers at 10. I came back to the hostel after a long day of activities and was not impressed to learn that I could not take a shower. Do not come here. Owner is a penny pincher and that reflects in her customer service. She does not respect you.

I stayed at the Pineapple Park Hostel for two nights on 11th and 12th of May 2016. I booked online a single room ocean view and I got it. The first night was ok. The second one was a real nightmare!!! I went to bed at around 11pm and turned off the light of course! After probably 15 minutes, I... More

Found this place by chance and happy to have done so. Was pretty cheap and was placed in a room with three girls, which was fine. The showers were pretty cramp but clean and the toilets clean too. There is a large common area and at the time a few people were around, but the place was large enough that... More

After a wonderful week on the big island I dropped off my travel buddy at the pineapple park hostel. I had 2 hours left until I had to return my rental car and get on my flight. After kindly asking, if I could use the showers and brush my teeth before my overnight flight, I was quite surprised to hear... More

I stayed at the Pineapple Park hostel recently for my visit to the big island and I was personally pleased with my time there (a whole week). First of all the price was definitely affordable, especially compared to having stayed at any hotel or resort which would have been quite costly for 7 nights. I particularly liked the fact that... This hostel was one of the weirdest hostel-experiences for me -and I have traveled a lot! It is like staying at your weird, neurotic and greedy aunt's place :D Positive: - place was relatively clean - room was relatively nice (not as nice as in the the pictures here though) - warm water in the shower - easy access and... We had taken an ensuite room with lanai at this “hostel” and were very pleased with it. The lanai had a nice comfy sitting and eating area, and though we had to use the communal kitchen for making tea it was not a problem going downstairs. The room had its own fridge which was handy. The view is amazing from... More
