Ali Kai is a wonderfully comfortable B&B where our rooms are well appointed and spacious, and the bathroom is equally well appointed and roomy. There are many examples of our hosts thoughtfulness, ranging from a fridge, microwave and picnic basket for our use, to iron and ironing board, sunscreen, creams, balms and shampoos in the bathroom. We stayed in the...

Spent 6 nights over two legs of my trip at this great little spot. Stayed in Bamboo Room and Aloha Room. Both were super comfortable and quiet with everything I needed. Easy drive to volcano, local zoo / rain forest and Hilo town. Even had a few protected Nene birds crossing the road! Beautiful pool in front for a refreshing...

We were a couple and my father. We stayed in the 2 bedroom with the private bathroom. It was inside the house. Mary was amazing made us feel at home. It was our first time on a bed and breakfast but she made us feel at home. Gave us our privacy and helped us when we needed her. It is...

We spent 2 nights at the Ohana Cottage which is the cottage behind the main house. It had everything we needed. Big enough to fit our family of five and had a kitchen and living room. Loved sitting outside on the lanai in the morning listening to the birds, very private, felt like we were in the jungle. Breakfast on...

Ala Kai has a wonderful 2 bedroom & 1 bath separate house behind the main house. Patio, pool, BBQ, washer dryer, full kitchen and living room. Stayed with our Son, daughter in-law and 16 month old Grandson. Was perfect for the family to meet up and spend some quality time. Close to town, wonderful zoo and volcano to visit. The...

This is a beautiful home in the rain/fern forest, with a pool, parking, ocean view, and fruit trees. Mary provides beach towels, sunscreen, water, local literature, and expert local information. She is unobtrusive but available--knows when to offer assistance and when to stay away. My husband and I and our adult son spent 2 nights in the 2-bedroom suite inside...

My third time staying at the Ala Kai. Mary is a great Inkeeper and hostess. My breakfasts were delightful and its always interesting to visit with the other guests. Sitting on the porch with that fantastic ocean view is very relaxing as well. My first time in the Bamboo Room and loved it.

4 adults enjoyed the 2 bedroom cottage for 2 nights. It had everything we needed and more! Extra sunscreen, ziplock baggies for our snacks, and even a hose outside to clean our muddy shoes and pants from a 4 hour jungle hike! The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and two fans in every room. 1 bathroom was adequate...

My family stayed in the cottage four nights on the second half of our big island vacation. It is very private in a rainforest-like setting, including coqui frogs at night and birds in the morning. We enjoyed the sound but they provide ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The kitchen was well equipped and we used the BBQ...

We were received warmly. Enjoyed three breakfasts on the wonderful lanai. Quiet and peaceful location from which you can easily access Hilo, Volcanoes or the east shoreline. We would happily book again.
